Little confused by the Pursuit recommendation. The segment for it was only about 30 seconds and most of that was covering the shape of the bottle and the shape of other bottles. Besides bring able to chuck it like a football, can you expound on why one should lay down $60 -- based on what's actually inside the bottle?
Any way we could see another wheater blind video? Love to see it include dry fly, Makers 46 cask, larceny BP, etc... I don't believe you guys did a review video of dry fly in the past.
@@BourbonJunkies I spent about 5 hours bourbon hunting around Ann Arbor area. Came up almost empty handed, absolutely no eagle rare, no buffalo trace, around me, managed to find a bottle of old forester 1910, and some Henry McKenna 10yr. Both of those were at prices where I kinda felt violated. Lol. The prices that are around your area aren’t the same as mine, or the availability. I stoped into the obvious liquor stores, which they mostly just laughed at me, and every mom and pop store that my gps could find.
@@richardbreslin5111 if you are in the Ann arbor area hit up Tippins for store picks or drive up to Novi to Novi Party store. Heck you local meijer should have buffalo trace on the shelf more often than not at michigan state minimum price
@@richardbreslin5111 interesting. I've been to multiple meijer across the state most have buffalo trace. Many have eagle rare. Occasionally when blantons. All at state min. Plus a variety of store picks at certain ones
Makers 46 CS is my bottle of the year (not that anyone really cares what I think) and it’s still very available. People are sleeping on it, and that’s just fine with me.
Was picking up a few bottles today and saw a Dickel 8 and thought "eh, ok... i'll grab one and give a try"... then I looked at the tag and saw they had it at $55, so I passed lol
Sometimes distilleries will let a store or group buy an entire single barrel of whiskey and bottle it just for them exclusively to sell. Allows stores to pick barrels to their and thier customers preferences in theory.
One think I like about the spirit of these lists is that it's just a group of bourbon fans just trying to share what they like with other people. It's especially fun for different people to independently discover the same things. I've only been at this for a year and a half or so, so the exploratory process is still ongoing. I'll throw out 10 things I loved this year (no order) that are readily available: Angel's Envy Blade and Bow Green Spot High West Double Rye (must've killed 3 or 4 bottles this year, great rye for the money) Knob Creek 100 Proof Rye Old Forrester 1920 Penelope Bourbon Redbreast 12 Woodford Wheat 1792 Full Proof Looking forward to new discoveries in 22! (Got a Michter's 10 Rye for Christmas, so I'm off to a good start) Cheers folks!
@@BourbonJunkies Here's the email I got from the distillery. It was a barrel pick for a whiskey club: "We did a bottling of 8 year old wheat last year for a Whiskey club in Wisconsin, a single barrel sold through a retailer named Niemuth’s Southside Market in Appleton, Wisconsin. I doubt there is any left."
@@BourbonJunkies Yeah, that's strange. You typically always have something on it that mentions that. I'll lookout for a pick like this if it ever hits my area.
Those are both great bottles in my opinion. The Russell's 10 yr is so rich and delicious especially after drinking WT101. The WRDO is a whole 'nother level of rich and full. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either.
@@RocketSauce666 I went to 3 different LLS's (local liquor stores) today. Not looking for anything particular....just what I didn't already have. All of them are lacking. One wanted to show me their order invoices. Holy crap...what is not coming in is crazy. Shelves are getting depleted. We are in trouble.
3 new ones to look for plus you made up my mind to pull the trigger on the Makers 46 Cask Strength 2022 starting out on the plus side! Thank freekin god!
I have both bottles of the FAEs one 01 and one 02 and they are really good I love them. But in my opinion FAE02 isnt as good but still worth every penny

Have yall done a video on caribou crossing single barrel?

Still liking Old Forrester 1920 as the best bourbon I've had in 2021.
Love the content gentleman, deserves a follow 🤙🔥

Saw that unobvious plug for the Vero fulcrum hehe!
I use that fulcrum so much
Been big on the Bulleit Single Barrel this year.

That Remus Repeal V....just delightful...
Have you gotten your hands on the Sagamore BiB yet?
We have, it's great
Is the 8yr Dry Fly a special release or store pick? I can find the 3yr but can't find anything about the 8yr
It might have been a special bottle and we didn't know it
Top 1’s are both excellent as is High West Double Rye
Where did you get the Dry Fly 8 year? It's not even listed on their website.
Apparently it was a store pick, but doesn't say anywhere on the bottle. Someone had emailed the distillery and they told them it was a pick
Like your channel you guys crack me up. Nice to see a fellow Michigander on UA-cam. What town you two out of? Keep up the vids!
