- There's a lot of titles people would put on their best games on GameCube list, and I really had to sit down and think of what ones I'd put. So here's my Top 10 GameCube games! Again, just my opinion, and there's many more that should be on this list.

It's where the next gen of console gamers got to experience re-imagined classics like Metroid Prime and we all got to see games that became classics get mixed reviews at the time cough Zelda Wind Waker *cough*. Metroid Prime is my favorite game of all time, but Wind Waker is one of the most impressive technical marvels of its time. So it's really a huge toss-up.

Funny how everyone perceives a game differently, thanks all for sharing your perspectives. Back in the day, it was originally going to be just Dinosaur Planet on the N64 and the main characters name was Sabre, not Fox. It was going to be a swansong title for the N64 and it had a much more cohesive vibe back then and we were proud of the game when we showed it at E3, they even flew the whole team over there. The way things develop are not always as you plan. As artists, designers and programmers, we just want to make the best game we can. Resigning over a change in direction would just be silly, there certainly were no delusions of grandeur.

I’m getting my GameCube back from storage tomorrow, my family is coming up from la county 12 hours away, after 5 years. I miss the thing, it’s gonna bring up tons of memories when we played Super Smash Bros, and wind waker, along with the Zelda collection. I hope that people understand that the GameCube was the main, and favorite console for a lot of 2000s kids.

I’m younger and I love to play my parents old consoles but they stopped playing video games when the GameCube was big so I don’t have a GameCube and I’m saving up money to buy one off of eBay
@@brock8061 You can easily emulate most of the games with Dolphin if you got PC faster than me in the morning.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is one of the best games of all time. I just wish Nintendo would re-release it in some fashion so more people could enjoy it.

My GameCube “collection” consists of 3 games: wind waker, Twilight Princess, and most recently double dash. And wow, 150cc in Double Dash is INSANELY hard!!! But that game has quickly become my FAVORITE Mario Kart

My favorite GameCube game has to be the first Pikmin game. Mario Sunshine held that title for the longest time, but then I got hooked on those little guys

@@thealientree3821 me personally Pikmin 1 was just the first one I played and I loved the vibe. This is mostly because I was a kid but I was terrified of a good portion of the enemies, it felt like something new could appear and decimate my army at every turn. That along with the 30 day timer made everything seem tense. And that 30 day limit came into play when I came back to the game years later and since I knew where everything was would try to complete the game as efficiently as possible. All that said though, it's fair to say a good portion of why I like it so much is nostalgia.

Gamecube was the first system I bought with my own money and could buy the games I wanted. So many great games from Nintendo and 3rd party exclusives.
RE4 and the RE remake are my favorites. Capcom was phenomenal back then.
RE Zero also on GC but it's nothing compared to RE4

Can't really complain about that, the PS2 was objectively one of the best consoles of all time, I'm really glad I had a friend that owned one.

The gamecube was such a great console, with tons of amazing games on it.. So why the heck wasn't it more popular!?
The GameCube used mini DVD's while the Xbox and PS2 used regular DVD's.
The other two consoles doubled as DVD players
@@alexmott507 sorta kinda. The original Xbox required a separate remote with the adapter to actually play DVDs
Ps2 was better. Like, much, much better
@@Raishinshi PS2 was far weaker in every technical aspect as far as games were concerned (just look at how awful the port of RE4 looks) and only had ports for 2 controllers. But it was the cheapest DVD player on the market, so it sold the most. And when your system sells the most, it gets the most attention from developers. So really, the PS2 was the worst hardware, but devs put their huge games on it because it was in the most homes.

In retrospect knocking a console for "being for kids" really is such a dated and stupid concept. Nintendo's IP's always age marvelously well compared to their competitors.

For me my favorite GameCube game, and favorite game of all time is Skies Of Arcadia Legends. A large and beautiful RPG built on the ideas of freedom, discovery, exploration, and of course Air Pirates
The Baten Kaitos games were low key a couple of the best JRPGs I’ve ever played! Some awesome music too!

Thousand Year Door - Best Paper Mario
Mario Party 4 - Best Mario Party
Double Dash - Best Mario Kart
Luigis Mansion - Best... Luigis Mansion (we'll see after 2019)
I could go on but for me the fact still remains that all the later games from these series became less fun, less intuitive and less engaging through either lack of content or features than any of their predecessors. Damn I miss those days. 👍 ♥

I came for the top ten, but I stayed for Brent's rendition of Metroid Prime. Fresh.
You had 4 games on there that I definitely was happy you put on there: Paper Mario, Mario Cart Double Dash, Wind Waker, and Super Mario Sunshine (which is probably my favorite for the system). I would have added Twilight Princess, Pokemon Colusseum, and perhaps Tales of Symphonia but to each there own. Nice picks!

Part of what made completing melee a long task was collecting trophies. Now that they are removed in Ultimate and replaced with spirits (which so far seem easier to collect, we'll have to wait and see) that takes out a large portion of completion time

If you want to play RE4...the original Gamecube version is missing content. The PS2 and all versions based on it (including the original PC release) is outright missing graphics. The PC HD remaster, the upcoming Switch version, and the PS4/XB1 version should have all the content. The Wii re-release has all the content, it's just not in HD.

People go crazy angry about Double Dash, but essentially the dynamic is “you can choose from two weapons”
Metroid Prime was easily the best game on gamecube. It will always be one of my all time favorites.
Based on what I've played I'd probably agree. I liked it a lot more than Super Metroid.
Eh? RE4 was tank controls. It just didnt feel like it because of the change of camera perspective. Funny how a simple tweak fixes a huge issue players used to have. :)

@@SeightJam Push UP on the stick to move forward, LEFT/RIGHT pivots the character, DOWN is a slow retreat, that's tank controls.
The only difference is that because the camera is always over Leon's shoulder so it feels very natural to move that way, it's still effectively the same movement controls as older title though.
It’s true. I just played it again for the...idk 500th time(?) after not playing it in years, and I was shocked at how jarring the control scheme was in comparison to 5. It is tanky. Everything is controlled with the one joystick. Movement, while more fluid, was still messy at best. Still love the game. One of my favorites. But I am so glad they improved upon those controls in future installments!
@@ryuail Just looked up the definition of tankcontrols and you're right. This doesnt apply only to RE4 tho sinceots of shooters that came out before it (I.e Goldeneye 007) also used the samecontrols.
@@SeightJam Certainly. Infact most people forget that 2 stick console shooting was considered awkward to control when it first came out. But once we got used to controlling the camera on the R stick it made no sense for the L sticks left/right to pivot, so they became strafe

Star Fox Assault, Kirby air ride, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Strikers, Mario Superstar Baseball, SSB Melee, Sonic Adventures 2, and finally, Mario Kart Double Dash all have a special place in my heart and I can't rank them
Wind Waker and Double Dash.
Wind Waker as cutesy as it looked, was such a trip from start to finish, and double dash made it so much fun for racing on the fly

10 - Pokemon Channel (Incredibly cute but time consuming. Perfect for little me.)
9 - Sonic Mega Collection (The main reason I'm still a Sonic fan. Jam packed fun.) (If Sonic Riders was a Gamecube exclusive, I would have put it here.)
8 - Soul Caliber II (Link was so cool, but Voldo still takes the cake.)
7 - Super Mario Sunshine (Fresh, fun and making me went to go to Venice, Italy some day...)
6 - Metriod Prime (Atmospheric, expansive, all the upgrades feel amazing, reading is fun!? and one of the best looking games on the console.)
5 - Mario Kart: Double Dash (THE. BEST. EVER. Really. Character Specific Items, Only Co-Op MK, Wario's Colosseum, BALLOON BATTLE, so good.)
4 - The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition (Not only did I get to play games I missed on the N64, but also the NES? Deal!)
3 - Pokemon: XD Gale of Darkness (The only thing about this game that's not oozing with coolness and funk is the play length.)
2 - Super Smash Bros Melee (The main reason I attempt competitive gaming, also the single player was WOW, INCREDIBLE!)
1 - Mario Party 7 (THE. BEST. EVER. Seriously. Character Specific Items, Varied and fun Boards, 8-PLAYER MODE, I rest my case.)
YESS the character items in MP7 and MKDD!! were soooo good and they should bring those back in more games. Which i guess they kinda did with Super Mario Party except less exciting than the orbs

Growing up around gamecube and ps1, my sister and me loved to compete in Mario kart double dash and Mario party 4.
My favorite Nintendo console is the GameCube.
Isn't it funny that people say all the time how underrated the GameCube is, and yet this video already has more views than his top 10 PS2 games video which was uploaded 3 months ago.

I'm actually considering getting paper mario the thousand year door, and mario sunshine. They were games that I always wanted to play, but I never got. They might be very expensive these days, but my life won't be complete until I play it.
I literally have no problem with this list. It's great just as it is. Great job.

14:50 Uh, Jirard... RE4 still has a 3rd-person camera with tank controls. You notice how hitting 'up' moves you forward, 'down' moves you backward, and 'left' and 'right' turn your character? Or how you don't show any strafing in your clips of the game? Yeah, those are tank controls. And if you look real close, you'll notice that you can usually see the back of your character's head. That's a good indicator that your game's camera is 3rd-person; most people can't see the back of their own head without a series of mirrors. If you can see the back of your own head right now, you should probably see your doctor!

Nascar Dirt to Daytona is a game I own for the GC and play it every now and then, I had it on the PS2 back in the early 2000's and loved it. Highly recommended. Also the Resident Evil 3 version is amazing.
