Jaw literally dropped at the gravity-based dolly control. Can’t believe that works. Absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for giving this knowledge to indie filmmakers.
Sir your work is inspirational, I've watched so many of your videos, I cant remember which i've seen and which I haven't, however I have learned so much from your videos, it makes me want to come and meet you personally.... Love your work, absolutely astonishing, all looks like major production stuff, only to disocver that a lot of it is low budget. I particularly like the video about filters and how to use them... Top Class information, you obviously have an unlimited ampunt of experience and I thenk ou for sharing you expertise. Have an amazing day.
oh wow this bring me memories, i was a student at UP fine arts when you were shooting that music vid for Jaya . i just heard we cant enter the art gallery due to a video shoot.
For the Chip ad, the camera with the matte box is a Black Magic Cinema camera or 4K Cinema camera. It has a max of 30fps can you kindly elaborate on the high-speed camera or was this shot just a recreated b-roll shot to explain the shallow depth of field?
Thank you so much for this Me and some friends are looking into filing something wildly over ambitious and beyond our budget and the idea of using miniatures especially to fake a large set we couldn't afford is really inspiring to me, as are all these ideas. We're talking about filming a war movie. I've been studying "Paths Of Glory" to see how Kubrick did it. I think if we have a big ditch we can make it look like a dugout or trench With a clever use of miniatures and lighting I think we could do get some establishing shots that actually look like a battlefield - do you think this is feasible? I think with clever use of the camera and some smoke and lighting we could get away with it I enjoy all your videos, thanks for them
These are great! Very ingenious. But one thing to be pointed out is that most of these examples were done in the 90's. Today's audience is more aware. Especially in locked shots with wipes, it's much more obvious today than it was in the 90's. Because every shot today is moving. But great tips nonetheless.
Does anyone has some lectures to do about all of cinematography? I just start to watch videos on this Chanel and they are amazing but I don't quite follow everything. Sorry for the English by the way, isn't my mother tongue.
What does this even mean? The man is extremely talented. You have an interest in this sort of thing, but don't go criticising an old pro until you've actually done it.

Absolutely brilliant. Who are you?! You've done so much legit work since the 90's.
I find the one with the fake blurry background to be hilariously smart.
I love it, simple and effective, this is what makes filmmaking exciting
Wow, tha most indie that ever seen, thanks, now I'm follow you.
Wow, using a tilted track and gravity as a constant is brilliant!
Great video! It's a reminder of getting it done practically and creative ways to get around the budget.

Fantastic work. I was in film school in the 90s and vfx like this was always on my mind.

Of all the special FX videos I've watched these FX are the most original
Great video, thanks for sharing your experience! I wish I could like it a hundred time!
Awesome! I love these videos! Please keep it up with the cheap cheats, very inspiring.
This is fantastic. I do think that post production often eclipses simple creativity. Thanks for the video!

How did you get that slow mo with the snack food with a black magic cinema camera ? (or production)
You're a genius!
Thank you so much for this

I thought the same about a blurry background since i dont have a good lens
You the man
Wouaouuu! Please teach me more
what camera do you use?
How do you do the wipe technique for iMovie on Mac?
Practical is the way to go. YES.
It just adds a unconscious reality to it.
cool.

Rafael Mendez Garcia cinecom has a great starting cinematographer UA-cam. Look through all his videos.
wouldn't it be easier to take a shot and just zoom in on the shot at the same time rather then using a gravitational slide?
Big Fan BTW.
you'd lose the parallax movement of the shot, therefore it's a lot less pleasing and definitely looks a lot cheaper
When a camera is moving the perspective is changing. Just cropping with a static camera wont do the same thing
WTF how are you so intuitive
You not only shot this in the 90's but I think your editing software is stuck in the 90's as well.
What does this even mean? The man is extremely talented. You have an interest in this sort of thing, but don't go criticising an old pro until you've actually done it.
The Trivium I was just making a joke I wasn’t criticizing this mans work as a filmmaker, sorry.
@@beachlove7519 Don't worry about it. All I'm saying is keep the humility in check with all things filmmaking related. It's tough as hell.
Why is the word free in the title? These shots aren't free! Not even close.
You are too much!
None of these are "for free" xD
Brilliant
