This song once ripped my heart out because I was living it. Fortunately that was long ago. Eventually my kids grew up and I never lost them and I've now found the love of my life. This song reminds me of how far I've come.

I raised my children to look to God to meet their needs, & I looked to him for the provision & protection a husband is supposed to provide. Once a man leaves his wife & children, for ANY reason, God steps in. He loves us orphans & widows. (& when the man "puts you away with a bill of divorcement" you are a widow. Trust God. So, I was incarcerated back in 2003, was doing a year sentence. I was finally sent to work release after a year and it was while at work release I first heard this song and it hit me straight gut,/heart. I hadn't heard any music in a year and wasn't a huge Country fan but...BAM! I'll NEVER, EVER, forget this song and how it inspired me. When I left jail I started several businesses and helped a lot of people. Music has the ability to move people to move mountains. What's your mountain? And song that inspired you?

My late father was a pretty tough guy,I don't even remember him crying when his mother died...but he cried like a baby when my mother left him after 30 years of marriage...I'll never forget driving over to my parents house and all the furniture gone except for the sofa and television set my mother had left...He looked at me with tears in his eyes and said"I just want to die"...He has been gone 17 years but I still think about that...Glad you got through it bro

Now I'm 63. All the kids are grown and gone. And just today my son who lives in Westmoreland TN now sent me the link to the video. Thay have a little boy now, and my son is up and out of the house every day at 4:00. This song speaks to him now, he draws strength from it just like his dad did. Thanks Trace. Trace Adkins shows so much humanity in many of his music videos, this one in particular.

I love this song. Its good motivation for single dads out there. Its easy to get caught up in the bullshit spewed by your ex wife. As much as she tries to make be, its not about her or the money she thinks you "owe" her. Its about your kid. Be that rock. Be the one that takes the abuse and stands strong. You have to instill the lessons your kids need, so they dont turn into shitheads like their mother. Your kids are only little for so long. Take advantage of the little time you get with them and be the rockstar, dad of the year mofo, every chance you get. They will remember when they are older. They will appreciate it more than you know.

I was a single mom to 4 rambunctious, beautiful children. Times were tough back then, we even lived in my car for awhile. My children are now grown adults, with their own families and we all, just keep on trying. Love you Trace, thanks for sharing this song with the world, it means alot

This song applies to me to a t!!! I'm 34 years old, married working full time, and in 2018 my father lost his battle with cancer and ever since then I've added full time caregiver to my blind,disabled,diabetic mother...she has toe amputations and everyday I wake up for another shift and I keep on trying! Because my 2 siblings are as useless as can be!!

Like a lot of the comments previous, this song always hits a place with me. Child support and struggling to raise 3 kids half the time. Always had to keep your chin up. I can look back now with a smile that I did it.
When I got a divorce in 1995 it was very hard on one income. There were hardships, working at two jobs to get by but I kept trying and trying . Today, my kids had graduated from high school and have a family of their own. I am proud that I'd kept trying and worked hard to raised my kids. This definitely hit home with me .Awesome song Trace . I like it. The message is there. God bless you always.

I give a lotta of credit to a so many DADS out there that WANT to be there for kids. My kids father didn't. But their step dad stepped up & RAISED them he was their dad. He's the one who worked the long hours & when my son was in the hospital he stayed in the hospital with me over night ever night we was there till he went home. No word from his father. 22 years later we are still going strong 7 kids & they r ours 12 grandkids yes they r both from b4 we our other marriages. But we love them all very much as our OWN. God has blessed us very much.

Trace, your songs and music hit home every time! I love Badonkadonk, but these..... ? My dad was a war vet, my son was a war vet. Both are gone... both worked hard for their families and struggled with these same trials. Dad passed at 82 yrs. Josh (my son) passed at 34 years,. These songs make me cry, but it is a cleansing. Worked the morning shift with my best friend for years, when he lost his license to DWI, I would drive twenty minutes to make sure he got to work every morning, he kept on trying but eventually lost his life, this was one of our favorite songs RIP

This video reminds me of my dad. He worked double shift every chance he could to support my step brother, his wife and everything else but keep in mind this was back in the nineteen seventies plus his ex wife didn't get a job even after they first got married. Luckily he found my mother years later.

This song is my life right now. I've lost my Father, Son and Mother all in the last three years. I'm a teacher and the job continues to get more and more demanding. Just when things seem to be on an upswing... there's the next family crisis or disaster to knock me down. I'm so tired... physically, mentally... emotionally. There's nothing left in the tank. But, as much as I want the world to stop and let me catch my breath... it's never going to stop for little ol' me. And even though they're gone... they believed and trusted in me so much... I can't let them down... I can't stop... as much as I want to. I just got to keep on trying... that's all I can do.

I remember the first time I heard this song, it was right after the World Trade Center Towers fell. I heard this song and made me think of all the people going through a hard time. This song came out at the perfect time.
