TBOI Nuzlocke - Quick Rules

- This video has some some quick rules for the current Nuzlocke Event.

You start on a new file, every hard mode completion mark you get is worth 10 points. However, when you lose a run as that character, you are no longer allowed to get unlocks with them, essentially re-locking them. You can still play challenge runs as them (due to like every challenge being Isaac), and each challenge is worth 5 points. Challenges are split into the 4 DLC categories; Rebirth, AB, AB+, and Rep. If you die on a Rebirth challenge, then you can no longer play any rebirth challenge, but still can play AB, AB+, and Rep. When you run out of characters and challenges, you add up your completion note points, challenges, and then add 1 point for every "secret" you unlocked (found in the stat menu), and that is your final score
1. Start on a FRESH save file, no unlocks
2. Each Character has one life, if you die as that character, it's over.
3. The use of items like 9 lives, judas shadow, laz rags, etc are allowed, you only lose a character if you lose the run (If you lose the run as Dark Judas or Laz II, you get to keep judas and laz as playables, but can't use dark judas or laz II again since the game counts them as their own characters)
4. The use of items like Clicker are not allowed, since they could turn you into a character that's already dead - Ігри

Part of Nuzlocke is having "take it or leave it" chances to get new resources. Unless you can only unlock new characters during your first run per character, this instead just looks like a permadeath score attack.
You can kinda simulate that by banning resets

What happens if someone dies in a challenge, does that challenge die or does the character you play as in the challenge die?
Challenges are split into the 4 DLC categories; Rebirth, AB, AB+, and Rep. If you die on a Rebirth challenge, then you can no longer play any rebirth challenge, but still can play AB, AB+, and Rep.
@@realguywhoisreal Okay that's smart, I was orignally thinking that if you died in a challenge the character who died dies for the nuzlock as well, I might play without challenges at all though because a lot of them are easy as all hell and would be a boring grind at the start finishing all those.

So for unlocking Lost are you basically sacrificing a character for him?
Yeah, basically. Though you can do it once you completed the post-it of a character, it's still gonna count.

No, you only lose the character if you lose the run. Its mention in the description (rule 3)
The lost would be impossible unless you specifically get the greed mode money marks first. Also Greedier mode sounds like a game ender ngl.

Hoo boy that looks hard. But researching to find the easiest unlocks and most characters the fastest make it perfect for the game.

Wait, i remember reading something where: If you die as *this* character, you can no longer play with them and their tainted version
Like, If i die with the Lost(Very likely), i couldnt play with tainted Lost, same goes If i die with tainted Lost(even more likely)

Iirc scissors progress is only made by a run ending, not from dying itself
As long as you don't die as some character can you replay him over and over? (Until you get all the marks for him)

So the main things that make it difficult from what I understand are
- It's locked on hard
- You have to unlock characters faster than you lose them

And do you have to finish every run you start, or is holding R allowed?
Question. Rule 2 "if your character dies, you can no longer play as them. Ever", what about TV remote? You can get a dead character and if you do, do you just stop your run, restart, spawn a battery or delete isaac?
I think you're not allowed to use the Clicker.
In quick: if i had to play this, i would beat the record of losing!

Yup! You gotta start from scratch. If there's a Maggy-based challenge and you die before unlocking it, then you never get to play that challenge. If you die as a normal character before unlocking their tainted version, you never get to play the tainted version. And it's all balanced out by the risk/reward presented by the fact that you NEED to unlock a ton of good items in order to have a shot at survival.

Rule 4 says that Clicker isn't allowed because you could turn into a re-locked character, but if no character is re-locked, shouldn't Clicker be allowed as long as no character is dead?
If for example i die as judas while doing a challenge does it count as judas death?
No, but you cant play the other challenges of the same dlc

12 marks * 34 characters * 10 points = 4080
45 challenges * 5 points = 225
637 secrets - 4 unobtainable secrets = 633
4080 + 225 + 633 = 4938
perfect score is 4938 points
(the 4 unobtainable secrets are "The Scissors" unlocked by dying 100 times, "Mr. Resetter!" unlocked by reseting 7 times, "The Marathon" unobtainable in repentance and "Dead God")

Is resetting by holding R allowed? It'd be possible to just do it for half an hour until **insert overpowered item for current character** and just win. Or reset once you get to half a heart.
Holding R would obviously be against the rules.
