Exactly. Not much detailed content. Just a typical 1950s movie style drug den run by a local gangster. . The bulk of the content is young teens smoking weed and older ones talking about and using heroin. Back then they made a ton of drug/exploitation films that are basically all the same.

They had cars and money and the movies were probably their private "passion pit" to escape from the prying eyes of adults. Anyway , these movies were geared towards getting the teens into spending money at the drive in or movie theater. There's nothing wrong with being born in 1957, you are the same age as my eldest cousin and since a lot of our relatives have passed he is the family patriarch now . I remember he graduated high school in 1975 and he had long hair and listened to Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Earth Wind and Fire, Grand Funk and tried to learn how to do the "hustle". He kept us away from drugs and was a great role model. He enlisted in the US Army in 1975 and stayed in the service until 1995. Heroin was a big problem in the 50s too! The thing is that the early to mid 50s kids were born 1930-35. So, by 1954-5 they were in there late teens and influenced by jazz and beatniks who dabbled in smack.

No kidding...the cops shoot to kill first and ask questions later in all the old shows. That's before police learned that shooting an old unarmed man in the back instead of chasing him down is illegal and unjust....a sort of "kill em all and let God sort it out mentally." It kept the jails from being overcrowded.

Joanne Arnold is pretty and Tim Farrell is pretty awful. You can occasionally hear him doing voice overs in cheap "scare" films showing drugs, theft, under age drinking or wild sex (within limits, of course) in educational films. All the outdoor scenes are filmed silently with minimal sound effects, an occasional car door shutting sound, or dialogue added later. Notice that any talking in exterior shots are with the "actors" (yes, I had to call them that as they are on celluloid), always face away from the camera when speaking, which isn't too often. Dialogue was added later. And the Doctor that the police gunned down in cold blood was an "actor" that had to work because his brother and sister-in-law decided to stop supporting him after many years. See his name in the credits? That is Harry Keatan. He was Buster Keaton's brother, known as Harry "Jingles" Keaton. As everyone stood around talking, taking money and drinking, it's no wonder the poor girl died. After Tim Farrell gave the girl on the table some "medication" (most likely a Life Saver) from Doc's pocket, Doc threw the next one away. Why? Maybe Doc didn't like the cherry flavor? Medical science, and we, will have eternity to ponder that question. Or maybe not. I found this to be a hoot. No money for wardrobe as everyone wore the same clothes in every scene. Amazing what you could do with a $100 budget and a movie camera in the 1950's. Thanks for posting! (Larry Wolff)

This is the first, and only black n white movie I've seen that talked about drug use, and addiction so openly. This one was good about it, they didn't cut any corners. Most of those old movies banned things like too much sex scenes or drugs, they kept it clean, and I guess that's why I like them. But this one was educational and kids need to see it, to know what kind of road it is.

Oh dear gawd, this cheap, sleazy little number is really lacking momentum, the movie could do with a shot in the thigh itself just to liven things up a bit. Sort of a wannabe Russ Meyer joint, but ends up being more of a drowsy Ed Wood-ian flick instead. Despite this, it was also 100% enthralling from start to finish and I didn't regret sticking with it all the way through at all, lol. On the Unexpected Playmate Cameo Scale, I'm rating this one 5 out of 5 Joanne Arnolds.

So cool how he lit the match off his heel but why the long how-to on shooting up. Every kid can learn how to pop. And Daisy making dinner with Doc lushing it up in the daytime. Only exploitation films could show this stuff. Hollywood wouldn't show the evil Doc,group sex,the pimp and the rest.
