    wow! amazing! How would you transport it without a huge panic ! what would be the best advice if travelling with it?

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  8 років тому

      +Tina Pearce We have used dowels (see here www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Plastic-White-Dowels-9-Inch-x-6mm.htm) through the towers and into the cake for support and added security. For travelling with the cake, we would recommend using a tall box, have a look at our range here - www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/3/1052/362/ if you choose a cake board the same size as one of these boxes, the cake will fit neatly into it and not slip around. Hope this helps.

    Hi :) Amazing amazing cake!! Your tutorial is excellent and quite easy to understand..thank you! I have just one question... did you dowel/support under the 6" in the 10"? (like a tiered wedding cake) or just the one main one through the turret?
    Thank you so much!

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  8 років тому

      +donna boyle It's always best to dowel every tier (apart from top tier) just to be on the safe side, especially if you have to travel with a cake, so we would say yes, put some dowels between the 6 and 10" cake. Hope this helps.

    I made this for my daughters 6th birthday everyone was very impressed! Although i used a krispy mallow mix for my towers which was easier than cooking cake in tins and ice cream cones for the tops of the towers. I'll try to post a photo if you're interested

    Hi. It is necesary to use dowels for suppport the weight of the superior tier cake?

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  9 років тому

      +Floripa Flores Hi there, it is best to use dowels for support within the towers to keep them more steady and stable and because they are quite tall. If you are making the cake just before you need it and you are not travelling with it, it might be ok, as long as the cakes themselves are not too heavy but we would recommend using dowels. Hope this helps.

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  10 років тому

      You could use cooled boiled water to stick things on though if you are sticking heavy items on the side of the cake it would probably be better to use edible glue.

      Thank you! Im going to try to make the castle cake for my daughter's 4th Birthday. How long will the cake keep? Her Birthday party is on the 10th April, just wondering how soon before i can make it. Do you fill the cakes with jam and buttercream? X

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  8 років тому

      Hi there, it depends what cake you are using, if you are making a sponge/madeira cake, this should last a couple of days if you wanted to make it a day or two ahead and cover with sugarpaste but it will depend on the recipe. Jam and buttercream makes a good filling if your daughter would like this! Hope this helps.
