I couldn't agree more! I grew up in California and moved that summer two weeks after this song was released and it still gives me the same feeling i had back then. Everytime I hear it it takes me back to that time. Great times as you said. :)

In the scene where she is in the casket there is a mirror covering half of her face. This technique tends to be used when someone shoots themselves in the head and they still want to have an open casket funeral. It gives the illusion that you can see their full face.

Slash (the guitarist) is universally regarded as one of the greatest guitar players if all time. He works with many artists. (The solo in this is my favourite of his.) And this was pre-drone. That's an actual helicopter blasting by him in those shots (which also explains the hair blowing). A shot like that hadn't been done for a music video before this.
This is the second song in the trilogy with Don't Cry being first, November Rain second, and Estranged is the third. All of them are great songs. Civil War is another great one, and you cant go wrong with any song from their Appetite For Destruction album. Great reaction!! You're Awesome!!🙂

I never really followed Guns 'N Roses per se. I mean, I heard their songs on the radio and enjoyed their hits well enough, but never bought albums or CDs. The older I get, the more I appreciate their musicality, especially this particular song and video.
They were dating but they never married. The relationship ended before they could complete the trilogy with Estranged. Axl was only married once, for 9 months, to Erin Everly (daughter of one of the Everly Brothers).
I love the way that tiny little chaple housed all those people and how Slash is paying electric guitar in the middle of nowhere. Even so, this is still one of my G n' R songs.

Slash is the guitarist you speak of. This is my fav of all their songs, which is saying something because they're insane good, one of the best of their time. I love when rock meets symphony. Theres a version of this song at an awards show where Axl & Elton John are playing piano opposite one another. The piano bench for Axl is the back of a motorcycle. In that version Slash comes in on the wrong key during the solo & Elton looks surprised . Interesting dynamic.

I’m a big Queen fan and flew to London for a public memorial after Freddie died but the memorial never happened We still go to as many concerts as possible and living in NYC is an advantage. 7 concerts this summer we’re canceled or rescheduled for summer 2021

I saw these guys in concert with Metallica back in 92. It was a long 6 hour concert, they were touring their double cd Use your illusion 1 and 2. Metallica was touring their Black album. Both were released in August and September of 1991 just a month apart . Both albums rocked the early 90s hit after hit I would say for about 3 years until about 93 94. It was a phenomenal show, I was just a 15 year old kid....
My very first concert was the use your illusion tour in Lisbon in 1992.. i was already 20 but i had never felt the need to see any other group live before!! They were amazing! Of all the concerts i have been to none compares to having axl and slash as well as the rest of the gang on stage right in front of us going wild.. It was stellar! It so intense that i saw the sun rise that morning because i simply could not go to sleep that night as i relived the concert in my mind while listening to uyi.. I will always love music of all genres but today's music even though i can appreciate and enjoy some of it it all seems to be lacking something!!.. Rock n roll forever!

Don't cry was very good too. I was fortunate to see them in Nijmegen in 1991. A lot of people call Axl Rose one of the best singers of the world. He wasn't very good at that concert, but still a great experience, on the contrary to Slash, he was outstanding. I would sooner place him in the top 30 guitarists than Axl in the top 30 singers. That's off course a matter of taste.
Righteous reaction to one of my all time favorite bands. Duff McKagan might he the most underrated bassist in rock history n the least mentioned guy in the group. He really lays the foundation for most of their work. GnR is my favorite band been listening to them since 87 the year after I graduated HS. This song was supposed to be on their debut album Appetite for Destruction (over 30 million in sales and still growing) but it didn't have the same grittyness as sweet child,Paradise City and welcome to the jungle. Fun fact, the guitar slash uses in the video is 1 that joe Perry from Aerosmith used to own but had to sell due to money problems, slash eventually gave him it back years later after multiple attempts to buy it back. It became a special guitar to slash as well and was reluctant to let it go, slash and joe are good friends so joe stopped asking to buy it but eventually slash gave it to him as a birthday gift
