Absolutely love Caerlaverock castle.Stayed in a holiday cottage about 2.5 miles walk away. Unfortunately not able to go inside as it was closed use to COVID. Thanks for given me the opportunity to see what it looks like on the inside.Very well preserved considering its age.Keira is so beautiful !
Hi Mike and Trish. We're just back from a trip so didn't catch up with your most recent two vlogs till last night. Informative and enjoyable as ever, with plenty to smile at as well. Caerlaverock Castle looked really interesting - we're putting that area on our "to go" list. Great looking fish&chips, but the burger at Barnsoul was epic - maybe a vlog of you battling to eat it to follow ! Great vlogs - much enjoyed as usual. Thanks for sharing and please keep 'em coming. Hope we might bump into you on site somewhere - would enjoy the chat. Thanks again. George and Trish - CaravanningMacs
Thanks guys, we know what it's like getting back, a million things to catch up on, and planning next trip of course. A Vlog of me eating that burger would not have been pretty🤣
Greetings from Poland. What a fantastic castle. Caerloverock is certainly very different. I loved "Midge" at work - great shots. So pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Keira certainly was very happy with her friends. Louis was superb. The fish and chips looked delicious washed down with some craft beer. A wonderful video. Thanks so much for making it. Stay safe. See you again soon.
Thanks Michael, I was still a novice with Midge on that one and thought I had lost him at one point but then he returned to home. Fish and chips with beer, what could be better.
Hello Mike and Tricia. As always, great story telling and fabulous images. I really enjoyed the castle tour and have added to the list of "Places to visit when next we are isn Scotland".
Hi guys thanks to David of (Cruisin the cut) i found your channel, love the vids Im an Aussie and visited UK and Scotland in 2010 with me mum who was a10 pound pom. when we got to Scotland for some reason it felt like home and one of my uncles feels the same. keep up the good work Cheers Glenn.
Hi Glenn, thanks for jumping over from CTC for a look, glad to have you with us. Where in Oz are you? Our daughter is moving to Sydney at end of April for min 2 years so we will be visiting at some point in next year or two. Cheers.
Some lovely shots in this episode especially from the air of the castle and that bluebell. Great to see the sun shining but to use an entire years supply in one day is an extravagance 😁. Only joking you often have better weather than down south 👍
Nice one guys liking the adventures ... what a great castle ....open pop top action .....beer looked nice I am into ipa .. we are just planning our next week escape ...
Every time I go to Kirkcudbright I try to go to Caerlaverock Castle but due to weather or something else I never get there. One day I will. Nice Vid thank you. Subbed from Dan and Mazzy too 😃
Wonderful journey Trish, Mike and Kiera! Such a unique castle, your drone shots were great giving the full look of it 👍Traveling with you 3 is so fun!! Thanks for taking us along ❣️ it was wonderful seeing the sun shine on you in this trip !!!
Hi Jackie, thanks for your kind comments, it was so good having the sun on us, it makes such a difference when we get good weather when we are out and about and we loved visiting this unique castle. Hope you and the family are all well xxx
A wee pint and Caerlaverock Castle. Sounds like a dream day! I know you made a video about it before, but the feature your tent has of being folded up on a nice day is genius!
Hello very nice video interesting castle if its near Castle Douglas I must of past by many times on my way to Stranraer for the ferry, the sheep looks a lot like a Jacob without any horns as they usually have 4 to 6 horns so maybe this is the result of cross breeding .Thanks for the posting take care stay safe . Shaun.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed watching. What ever it was, it was in a field with a load of black faced sheep but that one was away on its own like an outcast.
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot I did notice it was a ram so maybe he was in there to breed the others the rest of the flock was too far away for me to make out what they were :)
Enjoyable vid again guys 👍🏻 we love that area around Caerlaverock it’s very underrated. We came home a week ago from another fab trip to Galloway, we had the most awesome fish and chips in Wigtown, yours looked pretty good 😊
Hi folks and kerra what a fabulous castle you visited Dan and mazzy would love it there, how was the beers I could just drink a pint now, have a lovely time you you laters
Another great video. Almost jumped in the car to get some fish and chips. Looked tasty. Particularly impressed with the partition in the box - is that to stop the sauce on your chips making your fish batter soggy?!? Inspired 😄
Great video. Can you feel the envy at seeing you with those fish'n'chips? I was all set at the weekend for a day trip to the seaside for the same but Henry's battery was dead and we had to give it a miss ... lots of envy ... ;)
Lovely vlog. I thought the ales looked good, but the fish and chips looked better. I’ve mended the hole in my van so we will be on the road next month. Hope to make Scotland again this year. Fingers crossed. Keep up the good work. Happy camping
I've just found this information. We haven't got airbags in our motorhome. Do you have an Air Bag in the steering wheel. If you have it's not good having a steering wheel lock in place across air bag when you are inside motorhome. If someone accidentally bumps into van and airbag goes off it will really go with a bang and hole in roof. Even worse in Motorhomes with glass fibre roofs. Just for info from old George. 🤠👍 bee safe.
I have found your blog and have been enjoying your trips away, in some of your videos seems your wife has problems with her knee, i get the same problem, but have learnt how to heal it by taking pure collagen type 1and 3 powder, its pure by doctors best, i buy it on natureszest website, its the liquid in the knee that dries up and causes pain, also when you are away in your van and not filming or editing, maybe best to switch all wifi off including phones as you are in a metal box the wifi is boucing of the walls of the van and attacking any thing living can also cause cancer. its a war weapon made to kill
They are a lovely couple and do great videos.. I also hate this mask nonsense but what can we do with most people just accepting it.. Maybe a 'this video contains scenes of unnecessary outdoor mask wearing'
Unfortunately we don't know what every day things may offend viewers...masks, spiders, enclosed spaces, heights, etc etc...if we stopped all the time to consider what might offend, we would never film anything.
Amazing castle structure. Thanks for the UA-cam tour ❤️. 1/27/2022
10:35 The sheep walked like it had spent some time in Wales 😁
I think it went there on its holidays 🤣

Talking of gruesome gargoyles… 😉
That chippy looked great; we’ll put that on the list. And the brewery.
Nicely shot vid Mike, very entertaining. 👍
Thanks for he feedback, we had a great day out there would recommend it 😀
Hello Mike and Tricia. As always, great story telling and fabulous images. I really enjoyed the castle tour and have added to the list of "Places to visit when next we are isn Scotland".
Thanks Naz, it was a great day out and the castle was a lot better than we thought it would be. 👍
Great to have you guys back sharing your adventures and a cheeky 🍺👍

Thanks Ken & Carol, we picked the best day for that trip and not had much sun since. The bluebell was my favourite shot too 👍

Thanks Stew, I am partial to a wee IPA myself, look forward to seeing you back out in the van👍
What a fantastic castle very unusual, the fish and chips looked even better.😋

Yes its under rated and well worth a visit, even if just for the castle and fish 'n chips 😋
Hi folks and kerra what a fabulous castle you visited Dan and mazzy would love it there, how was the beers I could just drink a pint now, have a lovely time you you laters
Thanks Ellen, the beers were very nice, best served cold.
Lovely video. I enjoyed your day out with you. Thanks.
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it 😊
Enjoyed the trip! This is an area I’d really like to explore more!
Thanks Simon, some great photo opportunities around there for you for sure👍
Another great video. Almost jumped in the car to get some fish and chips. Looked tasty. Particularly impressed with the partition in the box - is that to stop the sauce on your chips making your fish batter soggy?!? Inspired 😄
I didnt notice that partition at the time in Trish's fish n chips, it was not in mine so I guess she improvised and put that in herself.
Great video. Can you feel the envy at seeing you with those fish'n'chips? I was all set at the weekend for a day trip to the seaside for the same but Henry's battery was dead and we had to give it a miss ... lots of envy ... ;)
Thanks Donald, poor Henry, hope you can jump start him into life soon and get that seaside trip 👍

Cheers Steve, glad you got the hole fixed, we had a good day for filming this, but its been pretty grim since then.
Oh those fish and chips look tasty, enjoy
Thanks Jane, they were worth waiting for
That looked a fab day out. Take care Gill
Thanks Gill it was, and the good weather made all the difference.
good vid keep up the travel trip vids stay safe
Thanks 😊 stay safe too👍
Lol, I’m an ancestor of the Maxwell family and I still can’t pronounce the name Caerlaverock! 😂
Ha ha, love it, keep practicing 😄
Love castle's not been to any Scottish ones thanks
Maybe one day you will get to some in Scotland, fingers crossed
Great video. X
Thanks Kalo 😊
I’ve never heard of that unpronounceable castle 👍 great wee video
You gave now, and hopefully we taught you how to pronounce it, I had to practice several times.

Thanks George, good advice, we only put the steering clamp on when we are not in the van so we are safe.
Was that brown sauce with your fish and chips? Behave Mike ! 😂🤪
Not just any broon sauce, has to be HP! 😂
Lovely post! Thanks. QUESTION: how much do you hear or feel the wind when driving from the pop-top addition?
Thanks Julie, you wouldn't know it had a pop top, no difference with wind noise.
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Thanks! That is helpful to know ... looking at the vehicle for a possible purchase.

Is it a sheep or is it a wee cow!
Funny you should say that, when we saw it from a distance we thought it was a wee cow.
Stopped watching when you filmed the masks. I was going to subscribe but I don't want masks to be thrown at me with no warning. I just hate that.
