777 Kickoff - Skydiving in Antarctica - What the hell do I pack??

- The 777 Expedition kicks off early on the morning of 3 Jan, and the jumping will be the easiest part.
Travel, logistics, weather, equipment, airline schedules, fatigue, and more will all factor in.
My journey began as all should, with delays and missed flights, paired with some missing luggage. Fortunately, the bag missing only had my parachute and all the required skydiving equipment in it.....
Let the journey begin - Розваги
Was not expecting a vlog style. Love it. Would love to see more of this!
100% second this.
100% second this
Imagine seeing a bunch of guys with military builds board your flight with parachutes as carry ons...
Prayers for safe travels and complete 7-7-7 mission success! Fair winds...
This Vlog Style is really legit!!
This whole adventure is awesome!!
Thank you for sharing this with us all…
🙌🏼😎🤘🏼
Keep them coming like this
Oh, I love that you’re doing these updates. I’ve been skydiving once (one of my brothers took me for my 40th) and I loved it. I heard your podcast answering a question about faith. Knowing your sentiment, I’ll be praying for safety, travel mercies and a successful journey. Thanks for sharing this. 🇺🇸
What was that experience like? My friends want to do it for my 30th later this year.
@@lyotobundy I was plenty nervous, but it was a BLAST. We did a tandem jump of course, and it was a reputable sky dive school. I’m so glad I did it and I highly recommend. Happy early birthday and ENJOY!
@@sherylvalentiner6115 sounds great, thanks!
Haha! 777 like, how ironic! Love your stuff keep it up
Thank you.
Welcome to Chile man! I have been living in Santiago for a little over 9 years now. I still have yet to make it to Punta Arenas. I know your schedule is hectic, but I hope you enjoy your short time here. Keep up the good work! And thank you for the podcasts!
I always check the weather before I fly. Weather, terrain, enemy. Ole' School.

Ah, cold weather jumps... All the fun of skydiving with the added sensation of a numb body.
Good Luck, Have fun and safe jumping! ~~~
Good luck! Enjoy the views and the hot coffee back on terra firma.
This came at such a good time. I was writing a story about sky diving in Antarctica. Really helps me build out the realism. :)
Awesome. 🇦🇺🕊❤️
love it
Safe travels and God speed! I love what you guys are doing and the reasons behind it. You and Mike are awesome! When jumping, please try and keep Mike facing Earth, instead of space. 🤓
- Awesome !!!
too cool
I mean I am just saying but I was the 777 person to like this video!!! But on a real note this is amazing what you are all doing and the reason behind it!!

Big fan
This is awesome. Go Andy! Hope you get to jump in Portugal some day, if you haven’t done it already. Take care!
Andy you're really good at the vlog type videos. Would like to see you do more of these in the future.
🤘🤘🤘 that was cool 😎
Send it!!! 🤙
Wow Andy you vlog🤯
Andy, would you do a prep video for High Altitude Low Opening training? I haven’t seen a good one that really goes through the whole process. This video was some of your best work
Was finishing your podcast with DB Actual as I stumbled across this. Enjoy the rides.
That was an amazing episode 😊
As a Canadian skydiver I am not particularly enamoured with either the start or end of our short season......to put it bluntly, cold SUCKS LOL
Great work guys...will be following you closely. Stay safe & Blue Skies! 👍👋
Having driven a motorcycle in Nebraska during the winter I know what cold is but I think Stumpf is taking it to a new level of cold. Windchill at altitude in the Antarctic surely makes Nebraska winters look like being on a summer beach in Bora Bora. Can't wait to see those videos. I got frost bite just thinking about it.
For real. Is there a formula for wind chill factor at terminal velocity?
strangely enough, this is the exact load-out i went with the last time i jumped into antarctica... 🙂
My hands get cold jumping in AZ in the winter. 🥶🥶
MORE VLOG STYLE VIDEOS!!!!
That's where I need to be, knees in the breeze "Airborne-All-the-Way"
Good Luck 🍀🪽
How did I miss that these were being posted on UA-cam? I’ve been listening to all the podcasts lol
Amazing video and i must say amazing edit! Should i say well done Mike ?
Bad ass.
sickkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I can’t believe I was that close to you I’m an A&P for United and I was working the ramp that night
HAHAHAHA - was that Mike in the outro video??? You have mentioned several times how he is an "amazing jumper" and that looked like his signature style ;).
Pretty sure that’s Mike. 😅
Yup! Yellow sleeves, huge and inverted. Conclusive 😂
Had a buddy fly helos for 2 seasons there. Said there were passes that had winds greater than 100 knots.
Well at least you knew the things that you couldn't control would be a shit show but yeah props to the airline folks during the holidays for sure
Shrinkage Factor DEFCON 4 !
A bowl.
Pack a bowl, bro.
Fuck Yeah!
More vlogs!!!
It’s “summer” there! Only 20ish degrees
Did ya remember gloves for Mike? 😂
Professionally folded flags
Man y’all need a private plane for this!
Sam Brinton needed a jump kit more than Andy did.
Can you pick out The Glover in the outro clip? ;)
I'm a little pissed off. You didn't even think to invite me to go with you. Wow.
Not cool, brother.
🌠👍💪👏👏👏
If anyone can do this, you can
I echo what everyone else is saying about the vlog updates from your adventures. We get to live vicariously through you for a little while. @clearedhot I would love to know what camera you were using from the hotel room as the picture and audio were amazing. As a weekend guntuber I’m always looking for options to make my content better.
After looking at the footage more closely I’m assuming your using a go pro 10/11? With as expensive as that gear is, and with as meaningful as those American Flags are (definitely the one going to a family) it might not be a bad ideal to drop a iPhone Air tag in your bag if your able to get one. They might sell them at the airport. That way even if the airline loses your luggage you can help provide location to help with the recovery. We’ve all known at least one person who’s luggage was lost never to be found again. And the airlines usually have a cap on the monetary value that they can replace. Thanks again for all you do Shipmate. Be safe out there and look forward to all the content in 2023.
Any embarrassing footage of Mike yet?
Edit: Pretty sure that’s him at the end. 😅
Only open-face helmet.
😂😂
Exactly as I had pictured in my mind.
Who’s the FNG with the 10 cent idea to attempt this project when it required commercial airline travel during the fucking holidays?
When was the last time you had your kit laid out like this for a Navy kit inspection?
Every day when he inspects himself.
Dude you cant go to Antarctica. The flat earthers said the icewall is guarded 24.7 by UN guards that shoot on sight! The treaty yo!
At the end of the video is that Mike that looked like the turtle stuck on his back?
Smell of onions
How do you know if your parachute will not freeze and not open in those temperatures?
Skydiving rigs for cold weather have a small heater installed to prevent ice forming around the closing loops and the pins. Fun fact, the heater is wired to the Automatic Activation Device’s battery, so one should take special care not to drain the battery.
Wow
