Completely agree with you, Taika is best in small bites. And he was great in this episode, along with everyone else. I never want Karen Gillan to stop playing Nebula. Quietly became one of the most fleshed out characters in the MCU.
“I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Vormir. I watched Bifrost beams glitter in the dark near the Nidavellir Forge. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain…”
I truly believe Nebula has the best character arc in the MCU, and Karen Gillan's small gestures throughout are a big part of that (like how she reacts to winning the game of triangle football with Tony on the ship). She doesn't get enough credit for it.
The previous season was so good. It was great that they, in the majority of cases, got the actors in the live action movies to lend their voices to their animated characters. Honestly the amount of stories they can tell with a series like this is endless.
This episode had an interesting take on a murder mystery/crime thriller. This definitely wasn’t something I expected. We also finally had Howard be more than just a joke character.
On a second watch, the sideye Nebula gives Nova Prime when she says "use any means necessary" makes it clear as day that she's onto what's happening but at that moment you'd never guess. big fan of rewatch clues! Happy Xmas Angela, you've gone from not even existing to #1 reactor for a whole heap of us*, in a very short time. *who knows if I speak for others, ima assume though 😅
Yes they do release albums. They did one every season 1 episode. I imagine after season 2 all will be released. Lara Karpman is the composer for the show. She did season 1, Ms Marvel and The Marvels soundtracks.
Thanks for the holiday reaction presents, and thanks Xander for the holiday editing! Both of you be sure to enjoy your own holidays though - we’ll be here Watching whenever they arrive.
i like how nebula knew she was part of it and still act surprise seeing her in that moment and used uno reverse in the right moment to take out ronan and the shield and return the light into the planet. 👏 #Season2WhatIfStrongEpisodeToStartOn
Shout-put to a fellow Howard The Duck fan! As a fan of both the Comic series (all the way back to his Man-Thing team-ups in his first appearance) as well as the 80s movie (which was so bad it was good) I like Howard almost no matter how I get him. (well, except for the “nervous breakdown” arc, which was just.. ugh)
I've enjoyed your content from the beginning of the year to the end, Angela. Teachers who hear their students talking about any of these shows or characters and want to be hip need only watch your channel to get caught up.
Overall, pretty decent premiere for the second season of *What If...?* as i like this gritty, crime-thriller genre that fits well for Nebula's character
they said that Chadwick Recorded hours upon hours of voice work. many say he consciously left enough for them to keep making T'Challa featured animation.
If they made this into a limited series I would totally not mind. I could do without Seth Green’s Howard the Duck but generally the tone and pacing of this is more of what I want
I really enjoyed this episode but I wish they hadn't made Nova Prime the villain. It doesn't make sense to me. She was the one that put the shield up in the first place, wasn't she? I think since they also had Garthan Saal as a villain here, it would have just been better if he'd been the one to betray them all and Prime was left as she'd been presented in Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter Serafinowicz is great at giving off antagonistic energy. His "It's four in the f***ing morning!" line in Shaun of the Dead lives rent free in my head.
My only real issue with the episode were the cameos. I like Korg and Howard, but I don't really understand why they all just happened to be on Xandar on the day the shield's closed (Same with Yondu and Groot)
Whether you hate the Howard the Duck film or not, the film doesn't define the Howard the Duck franchise as a whole, the same way how the 1993 Super Mario Bros film doesn't define the Mario franchise as a whole. Keep in mind Howard the Duck has a comic book series before the film adaptation is made. And the Howard the Duck comic books are actually really great and are much better than its film adaptation.
You know what whould have made this better? When neb's crew started the assult Nova Prime, should have said "inconceivable' rather than unbelievable... I feel like it was just a missed opportunity.

I just would have loved to been there for when they came up with the rock, paper, scissors team up.
Blade Runner Nebula was everything I didn't know I wanted, this was great!

Rock-Korg, Paper - Groot (tree=paper), scissors-Meek. A very well written episode.
I didn't get that joke until HtD's line.

Rock, Paper, Scissors... Duck!
What a team up. We need a movie!
this cyber-noir Nebula was awesome! A case-by-case series of PI Nebula would be neat lol.
Yeah, great neo-noir episode. I've heard great things about this season from critics who have seen more of it. Can't wait!

3:23 genius insert
This, Episode 6, and the season finale were my favourite ones. Going strength to strength with What If. So much possibilities with What If.
Yes they do release albums. They did one every season 1 episode. I imagine after season 2 all will be released. Lara Karpman is the composer for the show. She did season 1, Ms Marvel and The Marvels soundtracks.
3:19 "Don't know who Peter is" Hwhat?! Put Amazon's "The Tick" on your to watch list immediately!
Actor who played Nebula is in Dr. Who, so eventually you will get to see her in that.
Nebula playing paper football with Tony was such a great scene, because he had NO IDEA what winning meant to her.
Thanks for the holiday reaction presents, and thanks Xander for the holiday editing! Both of you be sure to enjoy your own holidays though - we’ll be here Watching whenever they arrive.
Nebula has one of the best stories in the MCU.
If you like “What If” scenarios, I recommend “For All Mankind”. Real world history which changed because of a single event 50 years ago.
For All Mankind is also done by Ronald D Moore, who also did the2004 BSG.
I third For All Mankind, more SPACE SHIT but with the benefit of modern TV runtimes and production quality
Man the throwback to watching your What If vids when i first discovered your channel
I always forget Karen Gillian is British, and I only now hear her voice as Nebula.
Zander the editing 🐐 !
Flying Cars already exist, we call them helicopters.... There are considerable issues with them...
I've heard good things about the rest of the season... Nice job getting this out on release day.
Thanks, Xander. 👍
Omg it would be so cool if they created a What If for ATLA!
Great job, Zander!
Thanks Xander 🙂
I want a solo richard rider Nova movie like this episode someday
i like how nebula knew she was part of it and still act surprise seeing her in that moment and used uno reverse in the right moment to take out ronan and the shield and return the light into the planet.

Gotta admit, I really did enjoy Nebula's Cyberpunk Noir adventure. :D
Space sh!t is KOOL!!!

dig the reaction form Nakatomi Plaza
Great first episode. So much fun to watch. 😊👍🏾
Nebula Noir.
I assume you won't be doing each episode every day, but I'm so looking forward to getting a new episode every day.
I will try to film them everyday, but it'll be rough with an everyday release from Disney
Happy Holidays =)
Angela... love ya girl!! ❤
I loved this episode it definitely gave me Bladerunner vibes
Merry Christmas
Blade Runner Nebula and Howard the Duck. Prefect.

Love your reactions =)
16:18 That means it’s Christmas time.
The only thing i diskike about these What if's, is they make me want a series for all these different badass characters.
Overall, pretty decent premiere for the second season of *What If...?* as i like this gritty, crime-thriller genre that fits well for Nebula's character
"It'd be awesome to work out to this" - Actually, the soundtrack should be available, shouldn't it?
they said that Chadwick Recorded hours upon hours of voice work. many say he consciously left enough for them to keep making T'Challa featured animation.
AI Necormancy in coming
There is an MCU soundtrack UA-cam channel, fyi
If they made this into a limited series I would totally not mind. I could do without Seth Green’s Howard the Duck but generally the tone and pacing of this is more of what I want
🪨📄✂️🦆🤖 this season is going to be fun!
How about you react to The Last Starfighter?
i love you and marvel content
this is DREDD 2012
I will take more cyberpunk noir Nebula, please and thank you.
"What if" Bruce Wayne was adopted by Asgard? 😶🌫
XANDER!!!!1!! You are the man!
Angela, you're pretty alright, too. 😉
❤
What are your top 5 favorite spaceships?

I love you
If cyberpunk meet blade runner, it would be thus episode ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Flying cars? We can't handle cars on the ground. You'd just see BMWs stuck in buildings all over the place.
Recast Tchalla
Korg was funnier in this episode than in any of the movies.
How does a rock do calisthenics?
It’s rough, but if you roll through a good coarse, it’s pretty solid.
My only real issue with the episode were the cameos. I like Korg and Howard, but I don't really understand why they all just happened to be on Xandar on the day the shield's closed (Same with Yondu and Groot)
I don’t really understand why they couldn’t be. People travel and Xandar is a popular hub of galactic activity.
Because what if they were?
Howard is a pretty sad character behind the scenes. Marvel screwed his creator over six ways from sunday.
What If they did the Nova Corps justice for once?
I hated the HtD movie. Closest I ever came to walking out of a theater in the middle of the show.
And the Howard the Duck comic books are actually really great and are much better than its film adaptation.
i wish they did more interesting concepts. no one cares about nebula and the nova corps 😂
Clearly people do. 😂
You know what whould have made this better? When neb's crew started the assult Nova Prime, should have said "inconceivable' rather than unbelievable... I feel like it was just a missed opportunity.
