      The Bariatric Center I went to says no drinking for 15 minutes before eating and not for 45 minutes after. After stage 5 it changes to 10 minutes and 30 minutes.

    Best decision in my life almost 4 months ago. I'm down 70 pounds since August 31st. I did have a setback last month with a bleeding ulcer. It's so nice to see someone else go through this with words of encouragement. I've gotten rid of all of my diabetic meds. Keep believing in yourself and that you can do it is my advice. God bless you❤

    I've gone by my mirror and wondered who I was seeing and then realized, dummy, it's me. Who else would it be? You are so right about comparing one's own weight loss with someone else's weight loss. Everyone's weight loss journey is their own journey and no journey is the same. When you start comparing and finding yourself lacking, you invalidate your own success. We've all succeeded in our own way and we should always feel pride in our journey! I've said this on my own youtube channel and to several who are upset because they haven't lost what they felt they would or should. This journey is not easy, ever! Everyday is a challenge. If you are busy, criticizing your success, how will you meet the challenges ahead?

    I’m 68, female and when I started thinking about gastric sleeve surgery I had talked to a man my age that had it done about 2 years ago. He was so glad he had it done. My sister had stomach stapling about 30 years ago, and she spends many days throwing up after a meal and went back to her former weight. So I really was thinking this was the way to go. I started the process. I am still in the many different dr. Visits, but my surgeon says he thinks I would make a good candidate. My dietician wasn’t so positive about it, and my friends are really scared for me. It can’t be undone. It’s PERMANENT! You can’t take it back once you’ve had it done. What if I fail? I’m really starting to have doubts now whereas before I was so excited. You mentioned about not going out anymore. I have a husband who needs to eat, too. How have you worked all this out? I’m not on FB anymore. And I don’t twitter or Instagram. How can I get positive support? There’s not much out there for women of my age having this done.
    Any thoughts? Thank you for this video, and I’m so happy for you and how well it’s working for you.

    My best friend died young of cancer earlier this year after fighting like hell to live. She'd done it all right, physically fit, vegetarian since age 8, had quit smoking etc. A few days before she died I quit smoking. Id tried to quit many times and couldnt but this time, watching her fight, it inspired me. I have fought my weight since age 16 when I got the depo shot. Since then Ive gained and lost 100lbs 3x and gained it back w each pregnancy, kept it off between, regained w next. After baby 3, I have tried for 6 yrs w only a 20lb loss that I maintain but thats it. I have my VSG consult tomorrow. Its amazing the fire under your butt to get healthy and stop taking health forgranted when you watch someone you dearly love fight for their life and lose the fight. Makes you realize, intentionally harming your health is soooo dumb and entitled and ridiculous. Makes you determined to appreciate it all so much more and fight whatever smaller personal battles that you can change to maintain health.

    Even though I haven’t had surgery, I am on a weight loss journey and I find your message so inspiring. Your advice is useful all around. I’m so glad I’ve taken the time to get to know you a little more. It wasn’t until connecting that I realized food addiction is my problem. I’ve come to understand that I am a total sugar addict, I knew that starting the year off when I cut sugar... but it’s more than that. I am addicted to food. Food is what I always default to. I’m glad your videos helped me see that because it’s helping me to make much needed changes. 💕

      @MyLevel10Life  6 років тому +2

      Aww, thank you so much for your sweet words, friend! The problem with food is that it is legal and socially acceptable to eat. A lot of people just don't realize it's an addiction right away. But food can be healthy and amazing. I think recognizing the problem, being transparent about it and talking about it helps others to realize if they have a problem too. Sugar is SO damaging! I definitely still struggle with that. Thanks for sharing, friend!

    Very nice vid, Thank you for sharing. The part about the process being overwhelming is very relevant for me right now. I've had major health issues for several years and I actually love my big body and prior to my health deteriorating I was never bothered by my weight, plus I was always to scared to even contemplate that type of surgery because a few ppl I knew way back did not fare very well after surgery, so I said I'd never go that route. Well now that my health has taken so much control over my life and mental health that within a year I will be looking at having to use a walker or be stuck in bed and I'm only 48yo. I've had knee issues since high school and just dealt with it(no narcotics) no surgery would be done because I was over 300lbs(350). So I just dealt with it, then my heart issues started and they had to put a Pacemaker and defibrillator in on 2012. A year later I had my first cardiac arrest and had to stop driving and give up my career of 25yrs and ultimately had to stop work all together. Then my knee gets worse and then my good knee starts to deteriorate after a joint bleed in March 2020 and because of my multiple cardiac arrests(9 as of July 2020) I have no warning symptoms when it begins. So if I'm standing I drop to the floor which has now led to hip issues, which has now left me with needing double knee and double hip replacement but they wont do surgery because of my weight. So when my "good knee" started buckling when I walked and I almost fell 3x's , I broke down in tears and was like "I can't do this anymore, I'm at war with my own body and I'm not going to be around much longer" and I said to myself "this is the only control you can have over your life, you gotta do the wls". I cried to my daughter, to my Auntie when I told them that very same day. I'm a very strong minded and willed person and after everything I've dealt with this has been the scariest decision I've ever had to make but I know it's my only chance to have some quality of life left. So today I met with bariatric surgeon in my area but because of my heart issues they can't do my surgery locally which even though I already knew that was going to be a possibility it was still upsetting. BUTTTTTT me being me, I got myself together, pulled my big girl panties up said "it is what it is" and they proceeded to get me set up to see their chief of surgery at this other hospital. So when you made the comment about the process being "overwhelming", I was like OMG HELL YEAH, SMH! I'm scared shitless but I'm an optimist and I've been living in hell this long so there's only one other way to look at my decision. I'm enjoying your page and look forward to the rest of your vids, take care🥰

    I’ll be having my vgs next march and been really nervous and with second thoughts. Found your channel yesterday and it was a blessing. I’m 60 years old and been struggling with my weight almost all my life. This is my last chance to live a healthy life. I’m from Puerto Rico and luckily my health insurance covers the surgery and later the reconstruction. Thanks for your advise

      I’m only 9 days out from my surgery but I honestly don’t feel full when I have my protein shake or soup if whatever. I’m not hungry but I definitely don’t recognize the feeling of fullness. Is this normal?

    • @ridasaeed9149
      @ridasaeed9149 5 років тому +1

      @@JANJOHNSON59 its completely normal. You have to leave eating so you can feel your stomach. If you feel full or some kind of pain in stomach or even in chest it means you have ate right amount. But if you feel like you can have more even after leaving food for 3 to 4 mins. Then you can have few bites more..!!!

    Hi Erin, I just found your channel, you are so informative. I'm 54 and have struggled with weigh for ever, and have tried ever diet out there over the years. I'm preparing to have surgery on 9/24/18. I very excited. I'm very blessed to have my husband and children's support. I do have a question my doctor has suggested to start the use of the different vitamins in patch form have you or do you know of anyone who can speak on these. Thanks so much for sharing your journey.

    I am going to upload vids about my surgery I'm getting in two weeks. You have been a big inspiration thank you. I got upset the other day. My mum had told her dad that I was having a slave done. When I hung him rather then saying hello or asking how I was he just cracked in about taking the easy way out.... His words not mine. Nothing has been easy around my weight or medical illnesses my whole life. I pretty much fainted just getting in the washing the other day.

    The only sugar I have ever really consumed (besides in fruit) is in the one pump of torani syrup I add to my coffee. I use sugar free also. Sometimes I want a treat. So I go ahead and let myself have that one pump with my coconut milk. 🤷‍♀️ I’m already a keto person that drinks a ton of water… my struggle really wasn’t food addiction at all. My surgeon was super confident that this surgery would be incredibly successful for me due to my eating habits. I am 17 days out and down 30 lbs! I do have a suggestion! Once you’re cleared for full liquids (and even purée or soft foods) juice! Have a green juice and add protein… that way you’re getting in all those nutrients without hurting your stomach! God bless and good luck everyone!
