Dutch was originally supposed that hand to hand fight with the Predator, but it was Arnold (who's fine with outlandish stuff in deliberately cheesy action flicks) who pointed out that doing so would ruin the credibility. He said "I can't beat him. He's a monster. I'm just a man." So it was rewritten with Dutch getting his ass kicked and surviving by luck, quick wits and his expertise in using traps for guerilla warfare. I had to give props to Arnie for for not being insecure about being seen losing a fight on screen. Certain contemporary action star egos could not have tolerated that.
@@mrnicktoyou she had help and luck, I think the resolution of that movie could’ve been improved but was pretty good overall. I don’t think it has anything to do with “different mentalities people have these days” , particularly not the actor’s respective moral fiber or whatever.
Jesse ''the Body'' Ventura was a Navy Seal, a professional wrestler, an actor, and the Governor of Minnesota. Say what you want about this man, but he accomplished a lot.
I'm a lifelong Minnesotan, and as odd as Jesse Ventura has often been, he actually accomplished a lot of good things during his time as governor. His election also led to one of the best t-shirt and bumper sticker slogans ever: "My governor can beat up your governor!" 😆
Please get her to watch predator 2 before getting into the AVP stuff. While predator 1 was a solid action film and laid the groundwork, predator 2 actually established a good chunk of "lore". While it wasn't "the best" film ever I think it's somewhat integral to the series before jumping off into other things.
@Rick King 22 "Two types of 'em out there, hm...? Similiar, but different. Kind of like the difference between dogs and wolves? The bigger ones hunt the smaller ones. It's some kind of a blood feud that's been going on for a long time..."
Billy's last stand depicts a warrior culture clash; the Yautja (Predator) code is to match the quarry weapon for weapon, I'm not sure which tribe Billy was descended from, but his act of cutting himself was supposed to be a mark of disrespect; He drew his own blood first to deny his opponent from claiming the honour. Whether the Pred acknowledged this or not, taking the spine as well as the skull is symbolic as trophy of a worthy prey species.
There's a theory that the tribe from Prey are his ancestors due to the medical pouch worn around their necks. Naru has one and Billy rips one off before the fight. Just a theory but kind of interesting.
@@LongRodVonHugenDonggg I read earlier he's Sioux with an Oklahoma accent, which would put him in a similar region as the Comanche in Prey at any rate.
I’ve watched heaps of Predator reactions and people are always surprised the Predator is smart, he literally flew to earth in a space ship, that alone should be enough to show how advanced he is
That reminded me of that joke in Scary movie 3 when the alien is trying to get into the house - I heard they can't open doors! - They mastered space flight but they can't get through a wooden door?
In case no one has mentioned.... The actor who played the Predator was Kevin Peter Hall. He also had a cameo at the end as the black chopper pilot. He was a giant, standing over 7 feet tall. But he was a really nice guy in real life. Due to his unusual height he often landed creature roles. He was the primary predator in Predator 2. And he was Harry in Harry and The Hendersons. A movie about a family that befriends Bigfoot and brings him home. Its a fun, feel-good flick. In the early 1990s, Kevin Peter Hall was in a bad car accident and was rushed to the hospital. During surgery he was accidentally given contaminated blood and, sadly, passed away. RIP Kevin Peter Hall
You should check out the fact fiend video where they go into the history of the old flintlock pistol the predator gives to Danny at the end of predator 2, Damn neat.
You learn a lot more about the Predators in Predator 2. In fact, Predator 2 is pretty much the whole reason for the expanded lore in the comics, novels, games, etc. The movie is good, just not as good as the original, but the creature itself is my favorite. Like many movies from back then, the critical score doesn't really reflect how good it is today.
Little touch of biology - The difference between a hair, a tendril, and a tentacle: A hair is a narrow strand of dead keratinized cells. A tentacle is a muscular, boneless "limb" that is fully controllable by the animal and has suckers on the ventral surface. A tendril is a fleshy extension (sometimes muscled, sometimes not) of an animal that has no suckers. You're welcome. :p
Absolute masterpiece. I also really LOVE Predator 2. Does it have flaws? Without a doubt it does, BUT it also respected what came before in the original, expanded on the lore and weapons of the Predator just the right amount, we saw a lot more of the Predator itself, Kevin Peter Hall (RIP) played City Hunter differently from Jungle Hunter to give him his own distinction, the design of the City Hunter was fantastic, it has a great cast, very well done action scenes, awesome setting having it take place in the city, cool take having it be a detective story, etc. It wasn't just a retread of the original and expanded on and or changed on the important aspects to make it just that. Director Stephen Hopkins did a very solid job with it, especially when you take into account he had to work on Nightmare On Elm Street 5 The Dream Child (during a writer's strike, an unfinished script and having MASSIVE crunch time filming it mind you) and Predator 2 at the same time for a certain amount of time which is just insane. While the original is still tops (for me personally) Predator 2 is awesome and is still the best sequel in the franchise.
Absolutely! Its not the total classic that 1 is but I've always loved 2 and never understood why its so underrated. So many tools/rules/quirks of the Predator that are now iconic parts of the lore come from the second film.
@@xtravagentk1275 Wasn't a fan honestly. It was, for the most part, a cheap retread of the original with extremely forced callbacks to it. Also I like Adrian Brody, good actor, but I just wasn't buying him in the role.
From my understanding, Billy cutting himself was something from many native American nations; denying your enemy the glory/honor of drawing first blood. Even as a teenager, I always figured it was something along those lines. A personal theory on the Predators parroting Dutch's "WTH are you?" The Predator can't understand English, it can only guess from context. Dutch standing over him ready to give the coup de grace, so I'm guessing that the Predator thought that Dutch said the equivalent of "GG" so it repeated it back to him.
I love Kacees love for the Predator. Isn't that why we watch these films? We watch Predator to see the Predator, Alien to see the xenomorph, Halloween to see Michael, etc.
@@Lazrael32 I especially liked it when Chucky the Leprechaun put on that hockey mask before he started to read from The Necronomicon, summoning an army of Gandarian cenobites. That was a cool scene. .
Come on now you came to that movie for Arnold at least during that time. the predator was interesting though. I found myself obsessed with them so I kept digging up information the movies don't really tell you much about them and I like that. But if you look into there story they're f****** awesome.
Don't skip Predator 2 after Alien and Aliens. It has an item that Prey misused continuity wise. Plus more info about the Predator. Predators are hunters. They only hunt prey that they deem worthy opponents to take as trophies. Other than that it's basically just hunting for sport.
Not that im defending “prey” but they did show a ship coming to them im guessing “grey back” to get the gun from the girl that he later gives “Harrigan” at the end of predator 2
to be fair, predator lore is ALL over the place. Especially with the movies. Everyone kind of ignoring what went before and just doing their own version. especially AVP where really the director just wanted to make an Alien movie and didn't know or care to learn too much about the predators. I like some of the first movie but I do wish they put a little more love into the predator. (Also we don't talk about The Predator. It was clearly a satire and shouldn't be taken seriously or as canon)
@@AidanPryde09 yea know cause they wanted to make a particular message its not…before you could consider the comics of the predator 2 pistol canon…but like everything else now a days….Star Wars, Marvel/Dc movies when theres something the delusional people of Hollywood wanna do, the last thing there gonna do is pull from a source….then later on when it goes bad say we had nothing else to pull inspiration from…..so that 20 some odd years of extended universe of predator or etc….that was just a figment of everyone’s imagination or they didn’t push the message you wanted them to push 👍🏽
Great reaction guy's. The person you were referring to, was Jesse the Body Ventura. He was a wrestler in the WWE, and later, actually became the Governor of Minnesota.
In my opinion you should watch predator 2, I think it’s one of the most underrated sequels of all time. I also believe it actually ties in more to prey subtly than the 1st predator does in all honesty. Especially towards the end with Raphael adolini
Bro. This. I'm still waiting on them to make the movie of the actual story behind the pirate's pistol. That shit would have been a better movie than anything after Predator 2.
@@mturker100 Of all things they could’ve referenced in the new movie, they chose a pistol with an origin that was already explained somewhere else. And they ignored it.
Prey is bullshit for a lot of reasons. Raphael Adolini being killed like a bitch was one of them. Nothing like the French pirate that stood toe to toe against Greyback. Then the Yautja has zero idea how his own tech works. Then how does the flower maker people invisible. It made Adolini appear dead. If anything while what’s her name was standing there taking on about revenge the predator should have seen a corps standing there. But she moved out of the way. The movie should have ended when he saw her move. The movie should have ended right there.
@@manuelvfc6254 But it does not make anybody invisible. The Predator clearly saw Adolini but assumed he was dead. So in his biomask the girl should show up as a walking corpse and then be a real corpse. It would be better if the flower somehow fooled the biomask to filter out the potion as if it was part of the environment like the mud did in the first film. But they clearly showed it's effect and it's very inconsistent.
the lore in predator was all i ever really needed. you can fill in the rest with your imagination. I feel like the movies that tried to build more lore suffered because of it.
When Mac picked up the Mini-gun and they all started lighting up the whole forrest, I like to imagine the Predator running for cover like "Shit,shit,shit,shit,shit,shit...." hahahahahahahaha
I was lucky enough to visit the Predator filming location in 2015. It's now a zipline tourist attraction just outside of Puerto Vallarta. The rebel base camp they attack early on is now a restaurant next to the zipline. They even have a life-sized Predator statue there!
I really, really hope you watch Predator 2. It's a bit corny at times, but it does introduce a lot of important stuff. Plus it's definitely one of those "fun" movies and I think the 2 of you will get a kick out of it because it's Predator...but in a city. What can possibly go wrong?
The Prey predator didn't have the shoulder mounted plasma gun because he hadn't earned it yet. It's not because he was less technologically advanced. Preditors need to be "blooded" in order to use one. I believe that means they have had killed a xenomorph alien.
The part when the group finishes the enemy camp leaving all the dead bodies only to be later checked around by the Predator felt like it was a way of doing a kill count evaluation by the alien to gauge how fierce the group is as skilled warriors- the sole reason why the Predator is after them.....taking trophies of each killed soldiers marking them as worthy opponents.
No mate, You should watch Predator 2 when you say you wont watch it at 46:40 It leads up to AVP and gives a major hint which you will not want to miss. In terms of filming, it was the first movie to give the concept of AVP.
The guy with the mustache, chewing tobacco, and minigun ("I ain't got time to bleed") is Jesse Ventura. Before "Predator", he was a WWF professional wrestler using the name Jesse "The Body" Venture (he stopped using the moniker "The Body" after being in a movie with a 7-time Mr Universe/7-time Mr Olympia 😉). He was elected Mayor of the suburban city of Brooklyn Park, then Governor of Minnesota from the Reform Party. Mid-term he switched to the Independence Party. Before wrestling, he was in the US Navy and successfully completed BUDS. He was never deployed to a SEAL Team, but does have the right to wear the Trident. In the late 2000's he sued a TSA agent for groping him during a pat-down. The actor playing Billy the Indian scout/tracker ran unsuccessfully both for Governor and later for US Senator of Kentucky representing the Libertarian Party. With Arnold being Governor of California, that makes this film "Two and a Half Governors" 😀
Your comments about arrows versus plasma weapons and the idea that predators evolved or developed new tech is missing the point. They came in a spaceship so obviously they have the technology. What changed is that *we* have had 300 years of technological development. In this movie we saw that when he found a worthy opponent who was no longer armed, he took off his weapons so they could fight hand to hand. In Prey there would be little challenge in using plasma weapons to hunt people who only have spears and arrows so the predator also used arrows.
Recently learnt that Billy is Comanche. This changes my perspective on why he said “there’s something out there major, and it ain’t no man” I imagine he had some knowledge of the yautja due to stories/folklore from his people referring to the events in Prey.
This was released at the height of Arnold Schwarzenegger's popularity, fresh off the success of Conan the Barbarian, The Terminator and Commando. To learn more about the titular creature, I recommend watching the rest of the films(in theatrical order), reading the comics and play the videogames. Both Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger became governors. Director John Mctiernan followed this up with Die Hard. Composer Alan Silvestri preceded this with Back to the Future. In order, the films after this are Predator 2, Alien vs Predator, Aliens vs Predator: Requiem, Predators, The Predator and Prey
37:06 are you seriously saying this Predator is dumber than the one in prey?! This one didn’t shot itself with its own weapon nor chopped its own arm off with its own shield by deflecting a spear attack from a 90 lbs woman. It had the power to lift a bear in the air and killed a bear with its own hands and yet couldn’t crush her wind pipe. Don’t you ever talk shit about this Predator in this film when it’s the superior to the rest of them
The predator in 2 is clearly the superior predator. It goes and hunts people where there are hundreds of thousands of them and everyone is armed to the teeth. It's not out in the jungle dealing with like a dozen people with infinite cover.
i dont think this any kind of big spoiler or anything but it helps to know that the predators are all individuals theyre not just big bugs like xenomorphs sometimes are theyre individual beings with their own personalities culture and hunting/sporting code/code of honor or morals and it helps to realize that not every predator youre gonna see in media follows those rules to the letter that maens some of them might not follow this code youll notice like in prey the predator a few times hell go for some really cheap or unsportsmanlike shots(cloaking and running away from the brother just to sneak up and stab him in the back) or hell get so frustrated and rpideful hell do something stupid(like using his bolt gun thing even when he doesnt have his mask on) and that pride is what gets him killed in the end if you do end up running through the whole franchise(theyre mostly worth it in my opinion) youll eventually get to see what a full rogue predator looks and acts
They aren't a hivemind or dumb like bugs, but they are EXTREMLEY tribal to the point of cult-ishness, over actual individuality. They are closer to, like, the Mandalorian in star wars, in a few certain ways.
@@dontbstingy3587 I agree with most of if but in the comics and movies there are quite a few of them that we see have very distinct personalities compared to the rest
Kevin Peter Hall, first Predator standing at 7'2" tall. Big man, equally big heart! Unfortunately, the world lost him in 1991. He was married to Alaina Reed Hall, many of us 80s children would remember her as Gordon's sister, Olivia on Sesame Street. We lost her in 2009. R.I.P. both.❤️💔 This movie is filled with trivia, some of which can only be shared after watching Predator 2. Story Notes (AMC): Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jessie Ventura both went on to become Governors.
Part of the fun of watching this movie Is that you don't know what they are facing. That unknown factor add to the tension and horror of the movie. But cause you watch "prey" first you don't get any of that. So yeah, a huge mistake watch "prey" first
27:32 "Honestly, I just want a whole movie about the Predator just like, on it's home planet. Like what do you do just for leisure." I think every Predator fan wants to see the Predator homeworld and what's it like.
My number 1 favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie ever! Facts you didn't know about the movie: Jean Claude van Damme played the Predator in some parts of the movie, but quit production as he was tired of wearing the original suit which looked like a lizard insect hybrid. He even wanted to kickbox Arnold but the producers refused. Kevin Peter Hall, RIP was cast as the titular character as he was more of an intimidating opponent for Arnold's character Dutch, being 7'2". Stan Winston Studios designed the PREDATOR suit and would later return to the franchise for PREDATOR 2 in 1990. Half the cast and crew got food poisoning except for Arnold and Director McTiernan whom ate Spaghetti O's and PBJ Sandwiches, like Spielberg and Ford on Raiders. Schwarzenegger would later hire his own personal Chef to give the actors the food they needed. Sonny Landham RIP whom played Billy had a bodyguard hired by the producers to protect people from him as he was prone to violent outbursts. Landham said in an interview that "We weren't making a movie, it was a survival story for all of us." It was 110 degrees in the shade while it was 42 at night. It rained for 2 weeks, making filming even more difficult. The film was a box office success, making $100 million dollars ($350-360 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget. It was nominated for Best Visual Effects but lost to InnerSpace.
Kacee, a REAL Predator fan is born! Welcome to the club! The same thought about a movie in their homeplace, showing what they do in their own environment, their culture etc has been on my mind since I first watched that film, something more than 30 years ago.

Don't forget about the Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2049, Prometheus, Soldier, Event Horizon, Firefly and Serenity, for the complete universe experience!
I'd go ahead and watch Predator 2 before jumping into Alien vs Predator, it's easily one of the better Predator movies, along with this, Prey and some of the fan made films like Predator: Dark Ages. 2010's Predators was ok, nothing special but is too close to a remake rather than a true sequel, with a few changes and additions, similar to how I and many others feel that the latest Star Wars films were just a retread of the original trilogy. 2018's The Predator was disappointing, despite having such a talented cast it falls pretty flat, relies on too many tropes and unfortunately tries to add comedic elements, that are just cringe worthy and stupid.
Notice how the movie takes time to show the effect of the loss of their team members. Like each death had an impact, unlike the new one. These were the elite of the elite, and they couldn't handle one Predator. It was the opposite of a power fantasy. That's what made it a classic. It was pure survival and being dominated to the last second where he got lucky that the Predator went around one of his traps. Even being invisible to it didn't really help much because it was smart enough to figure him out. Billie knew he couldn't kill the Predator by himself, I mean, who does he think he is? A small, untested Comanche woman? Also notice the Predator actually chases it's prey, lol.
Okay, let's run through all of them, why not? You seem to like them, and that's awesome! You gotta watch all of them, please! They aren't all gems, but I still love every single one of them just because. Prometheus Alien: Covenant Alien Aliens Alien 3 Alien: Resurrection Alien Vs Predator Alien Vs Predator: Requiem Prey Predator Predator 2 Predators The Predator
Honestly, you should also watch The Last Stand at some point. It's more a violent comedy than anything else, but "Old Arnold" is tons of fun. Peter Stormare playing the villain is pretty cool too.
Has anyone ever wandered what this is like through the Predator/ Yautja’s point of view. For the humans it’s terrifying and horrific but the Predator is having the time of his life, he planned this big trip for ages and is finally getting to enjoy himself and he’s collecting so many cool trophies and then he gets killed because he made a silly mistake. His friends are back on Yautja prime going , “hey did you hear Greg went on a Hunting trip he had been planning for ages and got mauled to death by a feral Human “ And his other friend is like “yeah I know I just face timed him like the day before and he showed me so many cool things he had been up to still can’t believe it”
they say in this movie that his girl is really on her head :D because she loves Predator but didnt like Terminator 2 :) i dont know how come that is.. who would not like T2 even if they dont give a F about Arnold.. ive never seen a person in my life i think that didnt like T2..
@@bonzaipeter Some people are disinclined to actually watch violent action movies, but I don't think in my lifetime up to now I ever heard someone who actually watched T2 say they didn't like it.
This is literally both the best Arnold Schwarzenegger movie ever and IMO one of the greatest movies of all damn time! 💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪 Arnold giving, no BLESSING us, with most of his greatest movie lines of all time. As well as the rest of the cast getting their own badass lines. Alan Silvestri giving us one of the greatest scores in action/sci-fi film history. Easily one of the single greatest movie monsters/villains ever. And of course the BEST HANDSHAKE IN MOVIE HISTORY. This movie is made of testosterone.
The love and intrigue that Kacee shows for the Predator in the movies is so much fun to watch. Fun Fact: The main reason you dont see the Predator until pretty late into this movie is because the film production had major issues figuring out the monster design. They even had to re-cast a much larger actor for the final design since they had originally wanted Jean Claude VD as the alien.
This was one of the classic movies. It started as a military action flick, went to a sci-fi horror, then a survival film. It was simplistic, but well done.
There's literally no reason to CGI a Predator and I think that's what annoys me the most. They created a monster that a person can act - it doesn't need the CGI. Aliens make sense to CGI - they need to be running up walls and ceilings and leaping beyond human capabilities - but they framed the Predator to have all the same limits any human would have - it doesn't DO anything a human in dress couldn't do. The originals did it perfectly.
I dunno man I mean it’s pretty well shown in the first two movies that the predator leaps across trees and buildings effortlessly and can run super fast (catches up with a train in predator 2)
Jessie Ventura was a Navy Seal, a sergeant at arms in the Mongols biker club, professional wrestler, a mayor and Governor of Minnesota. Also a best selling author and TV personality.
The predator didnt use Plasma Cannons in Prey because the Natives nor the French had weapons that could come near it. Arnie had automatic weapons and bombs etc so they could match the Plasma weapon. The Predator likes to give people a little of a chance even though Predators always cheat.
There's not much about Predators that Prey doesn't tell you. They are a hunting/trophy culture big into honour and combat. It had watched Dutches take out the camp and knew there were all great warriors, so went after them.
It stroke at Hawkins first because he was alone and separeted from the others. The predator was waiting for a good time to strike, like a hunter does. When Anna tried to escape, it broke the formation of the team and Hawkins was alone for a few minutes without anyone to cover him.
Movie Spoiler!! Now what does Prey actually tell us about the Yautja Mythology and lore? Do you know the Book/comic lore? There is so much about different clans, low to higher ranks, elders, ancients and so on. For example, the one in AvP2, "Wolf" who took on the Alien Hybrid in close combat, is an elite rank. Those guys don't even show up in regular hunts (Arnold, Danny, Naru, good luck with one of those). And i don't even start on what is necessary to earn an Elder/Clanleader status. The Predator in Prey is obviously a Young blood or even below on its first hunt. Higher ranks sharpen and improve their senses, tactics and skills troughout numerous of hunts on different planets, so they don't have to rely on their cloak tech and heat vision only. So thats a little insight to the Yautja Hunter Race, in all the movies we sadly got to see some small glimps about that.
Yautja lore is absolutely amazing. If anyone is interested in it, I really cannot recomend the channel AcidGlow enough. He is your go to Alien and Predator lore guy. The movies are good, but there is so much deeper lore in the comics.
The anti-climatic moment with Billy squaring off against the Predator is what inspired Prey. Apparently Dan Trachtenberg was never satisfied with his ending.
That's Jesse The Body Ventura! A wrestling icon and he was the governor of Minnesota. He also served in Vietnam, as part of the Navy SEAL underwater demolition team! A true badass! 👊🏾
Kacee in high school is fine with her boyfriend Pred beating the heck out of the skinny four eyed kid that tells lame jokes trying to impress the 'cool' kids.
I think a big part of the fun of watching Predator was the suspense. The suspense of waiting for the next kill, the suspense of wondering what this invisible hunter looked like, and suspense hoping that there would be a reveal. By watching Prey first, you've missed out on the latter two.
Its amazing how these combat elite special forces full grown men with modern weapons. Can't do what a little 115lb girl did with a rock hatchet. Mary Sue got that woke armor.
Especially since she was in the 1800/ 1700 ( why the fuck are muricans so reterded with their centuries lik god damn) only reason she won was due to a hillbilly yautja that would probably be laughed at by later generations.
You guys should definitely see Predator 2. It has a connection to the end of Prey also. Plus it shows a little bit of how the Predator's (Yautja) are as a race and warrior type people.
My main gripe with the new movie was the appearance of the predator. It really didn't look like a Yautja. I had hoped they would return to Stan's original design.
To all future reactors who react to this movie: Please STOP cutting away or editing over the Predator’s face reveal and his roar. It’s a great establishing moment of dominance for the character. Don’t cut away from it.
This movie had TWO United States Governor's. Jesse was the guy with the mini-gun, who didn't have time to bleed. Jesse Ventura is an American politician, actor, and retired professional wrestler. After achieving fame in the World Wrestling Federation, he served as the 38th governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003. He was elected governor with the Reform Party and is the party's only candidate to win a major government office. They are hunters I 've known hunters that will use a compound bow and others use an AK-47 for the same game. I had an uncle that was a big game hunter and he used a black powder musket when he went after bear on Kodiak Island Alaska and was going to use a bow on a tiger hunt in India until he found out he got a "canned" hunt and refused to shoot a drugged animal.
@@Sam-xr8ne I agree and my uncle would have agreed with you. this hunt was in 1967 and he got arrested in India for trying to rescue the Tiger from the bookers of the canned hunt claiming he payed for it so it was his.
@@LongRodVonHugenDonggg Most First Nation Cultures traditionally use/ do have medicine pouches.
Taabe’s cross-torso cut by the French fur trappers in Prey is a Billy’s last stand reference.
Also Billy is the only trophy the Predator is shown celebrating as well! Showing he was likely considered a very desirable trophy
I’ve watched heaps of Predator reactions and people are always surprised the Predator is smart, he literally flew to earth in a space ship, that alone should be enough to show how advanced he is
the Yautja are a tribal hunting people who did NOT discard their old ways just because they have advanced tech.
That reminded me of that joke in Scary movie 3 when the alien is trying to get into the house
- I heard they can't open doors!
- They mastered space flight but they can't get through a wooden door?
he must not be that smart lol.
I dunno. I can drive a car but that doesn't mean I can build one.
@@RichardStrong86 all that advanced technology and they still can't make stuff waterproof lol.
Why the hell did they just ha e contaminated blood laying around or next to the good blood?!

It explains a LOT of backstory!
You guys really should watch Predator 2. As a movie it's decent, but it does provide more info about the Predators.

Predator 2 one masterpiece movie!
It's crazy how almost all people thinks predator 2 is the worst Predator movie of all. What do they mean? It's so good tho.
Sorry, before I forget. What the predator has on its head are tendrils.
@@dwerenat1 ah so it's hair is actually a fleshy extension on its head?
@@mastery7901 Yes.
Always thought it had dreadlocks
@@mastery7901 the tendrils are olfactory sensors. The Yautja use them to smell seeing they don't have nostrils.
Guys... also just remember this was the first... Nobody had ever seen a predator before this. So just imagine how it would have been like
Absolute masterpiece.
Just imagine if the predator had stolen it's 'laugh' from, well... either of these two.
I've also always really liked Predators. Predator 2 and Predators are pretty close in quality for me.
@@xtravagentk1275 Wasn't a fan honestly. It was, for the most part, a cheap retread of the original with extremely forced callbacks to it. Also I like Adrian Brody, good actor, but I just wasn't buying him in the role.
@@jediknightgeo Fair enough, but I disagree.
Predator said
'No U'
then proceeded to miss with a nuke
It's nothing to do with native American, cutting yourself just for adrenaline to kick in, simple.
I love Kacees love for the Predator. Isn't that why we watch these films? We watch Predator to see the Predator, Alien to see the xenomorph, Halloween to see Michael, etc.
Leprechaun to see Chucky and nightmare to see Jason.
Same i got hooked up when theres an iconic character designs.
@@Lazrael32 I especially liked it when Chucky the Leprechaun put on that hockey mask before he started to read from The Necronomicon, summoning an army of Gandarian cenobites. That was a cool scene. .

I found myself obsessed with them so I kept digging up information the movies don't really tell you much about them and I like that. But if you look into there story they're f****** awesome.
Billy cutting himself denied the Predator of drawing first blood in their fight. he also wrapped his medicine bag in the hand he held his knife in.

Should definitely watch Predator 2, it actually has specific links the both Prey and Aliens.
More accurately, it threw in a fun throwaway easter egg that made movie goers and film executives go "wait a minute we got something here"
In my opinion you should watch predator 2, I think it’s one of the most underrated sequels of all time.
If you want more of the lore you must see Predator 2 + it has an interesting tie in to Prey. The rest is pretty much explained in the first AVP.
@@brucechmiel7964 the flower make them lose temperature somehow which make them invisible to the predator since they only see the the corporal heat
@@brucechmiel7964 just pay attention to details.. im a predator fan and i get the foreshadowings and i know what they want us to feel if you get it.
the lore in predator was all i ever really needed. you can fill in the rest with your imagination. I feel like the movies that tried to build more lore suffered because of it.
When Mac picked up the Mini-gun and they all started lighting up the whole forrest, I like to imagine the Predator running for cover like "Shit,shit,shit,shit,shit,shit...." hahahahahahahaha
Who isn't team Predator though ?! Best alien ever ! Hope one day they'll make a movie where he's the last to stand🙏
That would kinda defeat the purpouse of the movies also pplenty of Yautja have survived just not the main one.
I thought the second predator was pretty good. Danny Glover, Bill Paxton, and Gary Busey. I think its worth a watch.
I would highly recommend watching Predator 2. It's under-rated and deserves some love.
No mate, You should watch Predator 2 when you say you wont watch it at 46:40
It leads up to AVP and gives a major hint which you will not want to miss.
In terms of filming, it was the first movie to give the concept of AVP.
AVP movies are awful
@@gilsurf8Ok, Its your opinion/tastes
but I think using the term 'awful' is an exaggeration personally . I quite enjoyed AVP and Wolf in Requiem.
Arnie was supposed to have a cameo in Predator 2 in a hospital suffering from radiation poisoning from the explosion, but it didn't happen.
Alan silvestri score is iconic. Couldn't believe this is the same guy that compose the avengers theme music
Sonny Landham also ran for Governor but lost. So it was almost 3 Guvs in one film lol
@@peterbrazukas7771, almost doesn't count
37:06 are you seriously saying this Predator is dumber than the one in prey?! This one didn’t shot itself with its own weapon nor chopped its own arm off with its own shield by deflecting a spear attack from a 90 lbs woman. It had the power to lift a bear in the air and killed a bear with its own hands and yet couldn’t crush her wind pipe. Don’t you ever talk shit about this Predator in this film when it’s the superior to the rest of them
Just let them be stupid. It’s their brand.
The predator in 2 is clearly the superior predator. It goes and hunts people where there are hundreds of thousands of them and everyone is armed to the teeth. It's not out in the jungle dealing with like a dozen people with infinite cover.
i dont think this any kind of big spoiler or anything but it helps to know that the predators are all individuals theyre not just big bugs like xenomorphs sometimes are theyre individual beings with their own personalities culture and hunting/sporting code/code of honor or morals and it helps to realize that not every predator youre gonna see in media follows those rules to the letter
that maens some of them might not follow this code youll notice like in prey the predator a few times hell go for some really cheap or unsportsmanlike shots(cloaking and running away from the brother just to sneak up and stab him in the back) or hell get so frustrated and rpideful hell do something stupid(like using his bolt gun thing even when he doesnt have his mask on) and that pride is what gets him killed in the end
if you do end up running through the whole franchise(theyre mostly worth it in my opinion) youll eventually get to see what a full rogue predator looks and acts

My number 1 favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie ever!
Facts you didn't know about the movie:
Jean Claude van Damme played the Predator in some parts of the movie, but quit production as he was tired of wearing the original suit which looked like a lizard insect hybrid.
Landham said in an interview that "We weren't making a movie, it was a survival story for all of us."
It was 110 degrees in the shade while it was 42 at night.
It rained for 2 weeks, making filming even more difficult.
The film was a box office success, making $100 million dollars ($350-360 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget.
It was nominated for Best Visual Effects but lost to InnerSpace.

This is a movie about learning to laugh again...
nothing better than a real action movie with a real set and stuntmen doing incredible ish. That on top of Arnonl makes this move A++
Notice how the movie takes time to show the effect of the loss of their team members.

For the humans it’s terrifying and horrific but the Predator is having the time of his life, he planned this big trip for ages and is finally getting to enjoy himself and he’s collecting so many cool trophies and then he gets killed because he made a silly mistake.

Dude, if your going to go towards Aliens Vs Predator you can’t skip Predator 2, it literally kicked off the crossover.

Gotta watch Predator 2
After this film you really should watch Predator 2.

By watching Prey first, you've missed out on the latter two.
well now, thanks to prey, taabe was officially the first person to say that if it bleeds you can kill it. dakota beavers beat arnold to it. 😄
Its been 10 YEARS since you seen this?! Bruh. I watch this movie at least once a year.
To all future reactors who react to this movie: Please STOP cutting away or editing over the Predator’s face reveal and his roar. It’s a great establishing moment of dominance for the character. Don’t cut away from it.
Right? Like, bruh. That moment was what all the build up was leading to.
@@GangstaStan010 THANK YOU! 😂
This movie had TWO United States Governor's. Jesse was the guy with the mini-gun, who didn't have time to bleed.

Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger is an Austrian-American actor, film producer, businessman, former bodybuilder and politician who served as the 38th governor of California between 2003 and 2011.
Tiger? Really? Smh.
Fuck your uncle for wanting to hunt a tiger. Wtf is wrong with y'all
@@Sam-xr8ne Yep. He loved a challenge and was willing to except that he might lose big time., he thought that added to the thrill.
@@edgarcia4794 there are hardly any tigers left because they were hunted so much. Leave them the fuck alone.
@@Sam-xr8ne I agree and my uncle would have agreed with you. this hunt was in 1967 and he got arrested in India for trying to rescue the Tiger from the bookers of the canned hunt claiming he payed for it so it was his. He wanted to take it back to America with him and give it to a small local zoo in Riverside Ca that existed at the time.
Predator's got a ~ Live, Laugh, Hunt ~ sign hanging up in his living room...
