- A ceremonial cross, believed to have fragments of the cross Jesus was crucified on, was blessed in Wales before it takes part in King Charles III’s coronation. In line with the new King’s sustainability efforts, this cross was made from recycled silver, Welsh slate and reclaimed wood. It was a 2020 gift from then-Prince Charles to the church in Wales. It will lead the coronation procession into Westminster Abbey containing a gift from the Vatican.

A coronation is a Christian ceremony during which the new monarch is crowned as part of a Eucharist, or Holy Communion service, at which Christians commemorate Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper. I don't know if you noticed but it's also held in an Abbey because King Charles will be anointed as it's a Religious ceremony.
