Hello. He said that the battery has 21% more capacity and it lasts longer. My question is. Is the RS camera using more power than the oneR so the battery upgrade just keeps the same duration or do the 2 cameras have the same energy consumption so the 21% more energy results in more duration? Thanks
Terrific! You certainly answered all of my questions on this release day! If you are a current owner of the Insta360 One R and were wondering about the new release, this video should answer all of your questions. I certainly appreciated all of the candid remarks, the details about the new system and the compatibility with the old system. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this!
A great review of a great product. But, hey! We finally get to see you! You are not just a pair of hands! Unlike most other reviewers, you keep yourself out of it and focus on the product. Great stuff. Always even and measured.
x2 is only 360, this is more versatile, aside that, 360 side by side the x2 is probably slightly better. whatever didnt impress you about the one r is still probably here.
Color science is bad. 360’is old tech and still bad. (Grainy, over sharpened video, artifacts, over saturated and heavy contrast).. bleh. Not worth the money. And don’t even try to use it in low light.
I'm struggling to decide which cam to get between this and the Hero 10. Hero 10 looks better visually but I've also heard it suffers a lot from overheating and shutting off. Anyone have experience with this?
@@jonedquist701 action cameras would overheat if you leave them static on a table whilst recording. if youre in motion theres nothing to worry about. imo go for this with the 360 mod. so you get the versatility of regular camera or 360. but if youre deciding between only the 4k mod, or gopro, then i recommend the gopro.
Can you please do a Insta360 RS vs GoPro Hero 9 or 10 black?? really want to get an action camera but dont know which one to go for. To me it seems like Insta360 RS has more features and easy yo use its effects.
GOOD BOY 👏 exhaustive tutorial !! However, I add a DEFECT that I found and I i to check video recordings, the synchronization between action cam and iPhone (latest generation) is out of phase. In other words, the app sometimes delays the shooting and sometimes freezes the recording. It is therefore very difficult 😞 to operate with precision.
Great explanation of how this module system works. I was a little confused when the first One R was released. But after watching your video I think I have a much better idea of how this system could benefit someone who is looking to record action video and 360 video. And this makes sense for someone who doesn't currently own either camera, it could save them money by not having to purchase individual cameras. And it seems like the action module for the RS got some really nice improvements. Great review Shawn, and I look forward to more testing of the One RS on your channel.
really great- to the point-others sites are mind numbing!! Have noticed on app that aspect ratio icon no longer avaiable, so cant see videos in full -have to export to own gallery to see in full. love more info if you have it on best ratios for videos, thanks.

at 2:18, you state "the camera can be inserted either way, and will talk about why that's important in a minute"...i might have missed it, but didn't see where you discussed it after during the remainder of the video...
Got a quick question for you. Long time subscriber but which Insta360 app are you using as mine won’t turn landscape as in you video? Look forward to your response.
Great video! I am sure glad that I can just add the new gear to my i360 One R. One of the (many) reasons I stopped upgrading was that I became weary of having to get new gear (cages, handles, batteries et al).
Thanks for this review! I do have 2 questions for you on iPad Pro editing though. #1 - How did you get the video onto the iPad for editing in the Insta360 app? Did you use the BT/WiFi? Or were you able to find a way to use the USB-C port on the camera to transfer the video? FYI, I have the Insta360 One RS, 1" Leica mode, quick SD card reader, and external Mic adapter. I am aware of the published USB-C port limitation for iPad Pro, where unlike the USB-C ports on Android it will not work due to some Apple limitation. I am able to plug the quick SD card reader into the iPad Pro and transfer video to the Files app and save it to Photos as well (where the Insta360 app exports files to locally after editing). I just can't find a way to get the Insta360 app to recognize the local video files. I am able to open files on the camera and edit them in the Insta360 app using BT/WiFi, but it literally took me twice as long as the video length to export the video locally. As I tend to shoot longer videos (no TikTok here), this is a pita and wears on the camera battery. If I have over an hour worth of videos, I would use up an entire camera battery just to export it off the camera after editing. #2 - Your review indicated the ability to select "Post" before shooting video to bypass in-camera FlowState stabilization in favor of applying stabilization in post on the Insta360 Studio computer app. However using the 1" Leica mod, I am only able to select Post for 5.3K 30fps. Post is unavailable on 4K, 2.7K, and 1080. I edit video in FCPX because I use a separate 32bit float field recorder and need to sync audio in post, and was also looking forward to longer battery life/less overheating by not taxing the One RS processor with in-camera FlowState. I am wondering if this is 'lens specific' (I think you had the 4k Boost lens on during this part of the review vs the 1" Leica) or if you might have had pre-production firmware (I am on firmware v1.4.81). Any reply or inclusion on upcoming video would be most appreciated!
Thanks for the. I own the one R with the 360 and 1 inch lens. I also own the boosted battery but, the finger mounts broke. Fortunately I have the Ulanzi cage. My interest especially with the 1 inch lens capturing the Arizona night sky. With the manual settings, still learning I capture the Milky Way.
Well pulled the trigger and went the 4K mod. Also with my order I got the vibration damper. On my Trike I really feel the rail trail as I watch my mirrors vibrate loose. Thanks
I was wondering how I could upgrade my mavic 2 zoom to avoid having to replace it with the considerably expensive mavic 3 and I think attaching this would be the answer.
Thank you for the clear narration. For shooting while riding a bicycle in a combination of open areas with really bright sunlight and shaded areas (e.g., through the woods), which combination of ISO, shutter speed, and color setting tends to work best? I'm using the Insta360 One RS with 1" lens and trying to film at 4K @60fps.
With the new upgraded core you can set it to do stabilization in camera or you can do it and post. Both have their pros and cons you have more flexibility when doing it in post and the camera doesn’t heat up as much. However it is more time-consuming so if you don’t want to worry about that you can just set it to in camera stabilization
Great video! Love the one r 360 for my livestreams from the club.. it show me & the crowd at the same time! Love the Stabilization built in.. using the app for me was a pain in the butt.. I love shooting but hate the editing/post.. would love to know how the new one RS works with live streaming..

Just looking at the insta360 one rs. Doesn't look like the battery charger is included in the packs that insta sell. Do i have to buy it as an accessory???
Sir can you please make a video on ..How much time that Gopro camera takes to charge battery full ?? and also..how much that Gopro battery charger with 2 batteries takes time??
I actually think Insta360 has better product release timings than GoPro does. I bet there is a higher demand for the latest action cams during the summer. As I plan my summer shenanigans, I am in the market for a new camera but always turned off from buying the latest GoPro knowing that a new one is 4 months away. Then in September I no longer have the need to upgrade anymore :(
The original camera has amazing video. The app is also great. My biggest problem was the audio quality. Even a whisper of wind made the audio completely unusable. Hopefully this one is better.
