  • *Update* December 29, 2020 - This drill is still working fine after the repair and hasn't given a days trouble since !
symptoms: "battery level" lights flash when trigger is pulled... motor does not spin...
solution: disassemble and try to spin motor shaft a few times in each direction. The motor in my drill had jammed for some reason.
It now works again ! Thanks for watching...

I have the same drill, and same symptoms. My motor wasn't seized, but the same "flash lights but no action" indicator.
The motor turned by hand okay - and it all worked stripped down, but not reassembled. I saw another video that mentioned drying out the board in the base unit, as moisture sometimes causes "safe mode" (the lights but no rotation), so got a hairdryer onto it and it worked once reassembled again.
Your video includes some great tips on reassembly, in particular wriggling the chuck onto the motor until the two "click" into place and feeding the top speed switch onto the wire lever (although you seem to assemble yours upside down to mine; my direction light fits under the motor to hold it in place.
Thanks for the video; I now have a fully-functioning drill (and a mental note not to keep it up in the shed anymore!)

Many thanks for this video. I have replaced the whole motor (amazon purchase £11.70) since it was smoking and then I was not able to cleanly re-assemble. It was exactly the problem described in 3:40 where in my case my two rights clips slid together while they should be separated like in this video.

Cheers! Thought it I might have overheated it in the summer and buggared the Aod240 but I decided to try the jammed motor fix first! Unjammed and works a treat again! :-) Thanks

Brilliant! Mine had the same symptoms and I’ve taken it apart and now working fine. Your video really helped putting it back together. THANK YOU.

Just found this. Worked the first time, but I had the screw/drill/ hammer selector in the wrong place, so had to start again! This time, it worked intermittently, then went back to the same issue with lights flashing and no action 🙁

dude, my just came out of warranty and it started flaming! not sparking but actual flame comes out from the motor vent... and to be honest I used it very little, I had to charge the battery 4 times only and then it died, that's how much use I got out of it. Bosch won't do s**t, really disappointed. I'm gonna try to take it apart as well and see what might be up with it. Cool video helped me a little, thanks.

My torque control ring is jammed pretty hard - no chance moving it. Do you think the gearbox assembly can be opened for maintenance?

brother i have the exact same tool. Recently i tried to free the motor from debris by pressing the trigger and blowing air inside the vent, the motor turned for a second and after that the transistor on pcb melted. My problem is that i cannot find the type of transistor anywere on the net, neither i can look mine because is melted. If you have a photo of the pcb or any other information it would be really appreciated. My tool is out of warranty. It's a really tough tool and lightweight, i use it a lot in my work. Cheers from Greece
