Nice video. Thanks. Couple of notes to help others. I found original part direct from Bosch spares online was reasonable price c£22 and no concern about being wrong or unknown quality. Recommend taking a picture immediately after cover removal as the small ferrite cores and red black cables between the switch and motor have to be routed carefully so as to allow body to fit back together.. The green mounting plate that has to be moved over from old to new motor - this has a positive sign imprinted in the plastic. Make sure you place on new with positive marking lining up with positive terminal as the green plate is keyed to correctly fit into the body housing (This would have been useful to show in video) as initially plate is fitted wrong way round. Other than those tow things and a good soldering iron relatively painless.
Thanks for the video. Just replaced the motor on my drill after it started smoking/stopping last time I used it. Got a replacement motor in 2 days and fixed the drill same day. The video was helpful, cheers 😉
Thank you for this video. Very helpful. I owe PSR 14,4V LI-2, have used it around the house every now and then and the same thing happened to me. Really dissapointed with quality. Absolute c.r.a.p.
Thank you for your step by step guide to repair my bosch. So happy to save money and not have to replace the drill.
Great video and thanks. £20 replacement motor (Amazon) and saved buying a new drill at £110. Very happy chappy. Huge thanks again.
Thanks very useful.From Madrid/ES
Worked for me! Many thanks.
Fantastic display Thank you 👍👍👍👍
Our pleasure!
amazing video thank you
Nice video!!
I used WD40 degeezingn spray to spray into the brushes area (under wire connection) to clean and washout any dirt. After that I run it briefly (sparkles and smoke still comming) but blow into it few times which apparently cleanned it. Now runns as new. No motor change needed.
Thanks for sharing! Very useful! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thankyou for the tutorial.
Mine is in a much worse shape, it is 5 years old I think, and I don't use it often either.
It started to smoke out of nowhere just unscrewing few screws and I will need to replace the motor.
Nice repair video 👍
Thank you, 🤗
Motor price please
I thought you were gonna fix the motor, change the brushes or something.
Good video👌🙏. What is the function of the white wire between the switch and the circuit?? Regards, Jan
At the switch are wires blown and Blue ( +, - )but also a thick white`wire. What is the function of this white wire??? regards, Jan
Hello DIY, I cannot find the motor for my PSB 18-li2 3 603 J58 300 on Aliexpress mine has 15 theeths and rotor is 12 MM any idea (original one does not worth it) Thanks !
Hi can you you help me find the electronic assemby part number 1600A004BS.. I could find it for £38 in Bosch online but looking for cheaper alternatives
Any suggestion how I can find the electronic diagram of this machine?
Replaced motor but the new one still sparks and cuts out the same as old one. Could it be something else causing it rather than the motor?
Is it possible to repair by change of brushes? Or only change the motor? I have same problem like in video.
Yes.
Could you please tell me where you order the motor from mine is also a psr1800 Li2 18v 13 teeth cog
Did you find it? I’m having the same problem
Hello. Both links to purchase aren't working out delivering to the UK. Can you please tell me where I can buy the replacement motor and ship to the UK? Is there any on eBay? I'm not sure the exact motor that I need. Many thanks.
@Timmy Carl true.
Mine sparks at stopping as well. Maybe its the braking mechanism friction...Seems normal...
I noticed his new motor sparked when stopping as well. Has to be the quick stop( braking )friction of the .motor metals. The motor is turning at over a thousand a minute. To instantly stop in a millisecond is gonna make a spark.
What is the required temperature for soldering?
Spark’s are normal for motor with brushes.
Well i buy from your link but when i open drill my old bosch motor has 13 teeth. I dont understand drill is the 18v model???
I had the exact same issue. I should’ve checked the part in my drill (13 teeth) before ordering the one from the AliExpress link (12 teeth). Luckily I was able to take swap the gear cogs over which was a pain. Would’ve been better if I had checked and ordered the part with 13 teeth.
@@user-so6ox8pp2v where did you find it? I can’t find for mine. Bosh PSB 1800 Li-2
Thanks
Hi Mr, please help me.. I just got new cordless drill set, but it sparking inside at the back when the drill stop turning.. Is it normal like that to spark when stopping or abnormal?
Mine too, but I see in the video that also the new motor is sparkling. Mine get to often in protection, but word again after I got battery out and back in. Any idea?
Bosch motor ka kya price hai
Struggling to see which way round my replacement motor should be as there are no + or - marking in it. Anyone help?
There should be a little piece of red plastic visible like a little dot
Sweet music. Brought me back to the 80s
Well that was a waste of time and money. The links posted in the description are for 12 teeth motors so are useless for this model drill. :/ I waited 2 weeks for delivery only to take it apart and find the drill has 13 teeth.
The brushes are inside the motor which, depending on what you buy, sometimes cannot be opened...in such case motor replacement will be necessary 😢
😂👍
I have same drill. I orderd the one in the link but is was wrong. I have the one with 13 teeth an 9.5mm in diameter. The one in link is 12 teeth and 10mm diameter
Hello
At minute 2:11 I say to check the number of teeth and the size.
The engine may differ from model to model and year of manufacture
so thats why the drill is always on sale...
Mine was sparking and had flames. Can I just change the brushes?
I have the exact same problem, but I don't see any way to open the electro motor, without braking it, so I'll go with this solution.
@@GeekAtWork I am going to first clean it with electrical contact spray and see if it helps. Have seen on other videos.
The motor costs quite a lot of money and I would rather just buy another cheap drill instead.
Geez duh replace the motor
The video was way too technical and fast for me to understand.
Hi there,
you fixed a non issue man. The brushes always give out sparks when contacting the commutator. Is just the normal operation of a brushed motor
I have actually smoke and flames coming out of mine!!!!! I thought you had the same issue..... 😕
