  • China has retaliated after Donald Trump imposed new tariffs on its exports.
    The country's finance minister announced new levies on a range of American goods and products.
    During his first term, Trump initiated a two-year trade war with China over its huge US trade surplus.

      In 2016, Trump started countering China's taxes and tariffs by announcing he'd start evening it out and Chiense everywhere got big sick grins across smirking faces, almost 'sexual' grinning about how 'Trump will be Punished'.
      Never happened. Trump added more.
      Chinese announced that the only reason America wasn't punished was because Chinese were a superior race who chose not to cause too much trouble.
      - At the same times, Trump announced he'd be sending aircraft carriers and warships through Xi's claim to the South China Sea. Chinese smirked in glee at how America would be punished.
      US drove by giving the 'eff you' finger to Chinese bases.
      Literally, American pilots did 'fly bys' of Chinese who could see them actually giving them the 'eff you finger' from their cockpits.
      Never once. Never once a 'punishment' came.
      Then China set a 'Red Line'.. if the USA DARES to sell Taiwan a billion in military equipment then America will see the full iron fist of China.
      The USA ilterally dropped off 4X the amount of weapons and sold Taiwan twice as many more.
      No 'punishment' ever came.
      If the USA dares to give Japan missiles to load those islands it will be considered an act or war that Xi wiill PUNISH.
      Never happened. The USA just dropped off another 100 anti-China missiles on southern Japanese islands.
      No punishment occurred.
      If the USA dares to support Hong Kong they will feel the punishement of China.
      Nope. Never happened. No 'punishments'.
      If the USA dares to add more tariffs there will be strong punishments...
      None.
      Doesn't happen.
      Last month China conceded on repatriating the thousands of Chinese deported from the USA. They agreed to take them back.
      Was that the iron-fisted punishment?

      Hi, Canada here. Trump will remove the extra 10% (most Canadian news outlets reported it correct- as an additional 10%). However, I propose that a special tax be imposed on critical minerals that both China and Canada possess in their natural resources. Some of these critical minerals cannot be found anywhere else; for example, niobium is only found in Canada and Brazil. This mineral oxidizes very slowly in the atmosphere, making it essential for use in health care, jet engines and aerospace applications. No one really knows when Trump will leave office.

    • @YWang-vl2zh
      @YWang-vl2zh 5 днів тому

      @ O Canada, all you have to do is probably just sell $55bn’s worth of oil and gas to China and Europe, instead of the US. Then your trade balance vs the US will go from $50bn trade surplus, to $5bn trade deficit. Trump’s brain doesn’t retain the information that US buys from Canada, turns around, and sell refined oil product and LNG to other countries, at higher prices. So you just have to show him a small trade deficit (surplus for the US)-see how the UK is avoiding this cat fight. Efficiency of world economy be damned

    Hey Canada, stop complaining about the U.S. imposing a 25% tariff-take this as a blessing. This is an opportunity for us to diversify our business with other countries like China, India, Europe, Asia, and Africa instead of relying too much on the U.S.
    Yes, having the U.S. as a major trading partner makes things easier, but if they choose to change the rules, so what? That’s not the end of the world. We just need to work harder and stand on our own feet. There may be some hardships in the first few years, but that’s part of the process.
    As Canadians, we shouldn’t sit around feeling bullied or waiting for things to go back to the way they were. We are friends, partners, and allies with the U.S., but if they think we are taking advantage, we must explore other options. China, India, and other major economies are ready to do business, and Canada has some of the world’s richest natural resources.
    Yes, there may be temporary difficulties, but we need to prepare our children for these challenges. Canada didn’t become one of the world's strongest economies overnight-our forefathers worked hard for over a century to build this country. Now, it’s our turn to do the same.

      @CarlTSpeak 5 днів тому +1

      I see the EU, 17% of US goods exports, are apparently definitely getting more tariffs levelled on them too. They'll almost certainly retaliate.
      The tariffs on US goods aren't ideal. That it is increasingly leading to those countries investing in reducing their dependency on US services should be a far bigger concern.
      Keep pushing your allies around they'll eventually take the hint. Without them suddenly your huge national debt and deficit get treated like everyone else's as you don't have the soft power to claim the world's reserve currency.
      Still if the nation is so desperate to force its own decline nothing the rest of us can do but hold on and hope we don't get dragged down.
