IV cannula dressing

Hi. I just wanted to show you how I dress an IVC. A bad dressing will shorten the life of your cannula. I just follow the instructions from 3M. Credit to them, they do great videos and you should be looking at theirs. But I know you guys are busy......

why did the blood stop flowing when you removed the needle and you did not occlude the vein? i have never seen that

Hey @dino910001, the particular IV cannula I used in the video has a valve in it to stop the blood from making a mess. The valve "breaks" when you screw on the IV cannula plug. My students love using these.... (and so do I).
