A UK #3 hit for Ms Shaw in 1964 and a follow-up to her first release, "Always Something There to Remind Me", which had been a chart-topper earlier that year.
BLUEEMERALD: I agree that she had one of the best voices of the 60s girl singers. Unfortunately , this was Sandi's only hit in the U.S. She should have done more songs like this with those abrupt interesting chord changes...songs in which she could hold those wonderful melodic notes like she did here. Sandi was probably not good at picking hit songs as she stated in an interview that she did not care for Girl Don't Come and pleaded with record executives to release the B side instead. Fortunately they did not listen to her in this case.
I like her too, but I think you’d have to agree that Dusty Springfield wasn’t chopped liver. Give Dusty a listen. Try “I just don’t know what to do with myself” or “Losing you.”
I listen to this one or 'There is always something there to remind me' and I am transported from here in Montana back to R.A.F. Mildenhall and it's 1965 and I am looking out the barracks window across the soccer field to the road that will take me to Newmarket, Cambridge or London while her songs play on pirate station Caroline North or distant Brussels. Those were the days.....but that too is another song.....

From Montana to Cambridge? I'd love to visit Montana!
Always loved her
sometimes the simplest songs are the best.......
Chris Andrews wrote some great songs for this lady ❤️
Such a fine voice she has ~ wish we'd heard more of her "BackintheDay"!
I think we Brits probably heard a lot more than you guys. She was rarely off our screens or our charts, "back-in-the day"!
She had lots of hit records. She could also sing in multiple languages.
One of her best is this one Victor , such a great voice :) ms
Thanks, ms. Enjoy the sunshine, mate!
tryton111 You too Victor .. nice for a change :)
Chrissie Hynde's forerunner. The resemblance and vocals are uncanny!
Thanks, Duff.
Good observation. Chryssie Hynde does have a similar voice.
Thanks for posting this ❤️
My pleasure, Joe.

Check out the live version on Channel Shaw. Definitely not lip-synched. Also quite easy on the eyes to put it mildly.
