It is not realistic that Spencer would carry glasses with him on such a long journey and make it back to Montana with them UNbroken.

@@robinedgeworth3591 If the glasses and flask are Spencer's it was the captain that saved them who gave them to him. But one other thing that to me says it is Spencer that is his grandfather. In Yellowstone John made a commit about his grandfather, he said his grandfather was mean as a rattle snake. With that I ask do you see Jake as this type of man or now do you see that Spencer fits these description?
Could be Jack or Spencer. Losing both parents so tragically would change a persons demeanor.

My money is on Spencer being the grandfather. Jack doesn’t look or even sound similar to John dutton. Spencer looks similar, has a raspy voice, his demeanor is much like John’s. I wonder how this is all going to play out.. 😅 we never see Jack drinking from crystal glasses but we see Spencer.
Could just be familial genetics. My son is built and looks more like my uncle more than me and my old man. My uncle is tall and broad me and the old man are shorter and broad lol
I think Jack is John’s grandfather BUT I think something happens to Jack and Spencer ends up raising Jack’s son/John’s dad.
John has to be the offspring of Jack, and the fifth generation Dutton. The land was promised to the Duttons for seven generations by the Indian chief in 1863. John's grandchildren would be that generation, which is where the series wil end.
Tate is a member of that tribe. There's more to go.
Spencer couldn't be John's grandfather James Dutton is John's Great Great grandfather which would make John Sr his great grandfather Spencer is John Sr and Elsa Duttons brother so therefore he is a great great uncle of John unless he and alex have a son who could possibly be John's grandfather
Yellowstone at least twice has indicated that Tim McGraw is Costner's great-great-grandfather, going back to season 1.
Therefore Jack is Costner's grandfather, not Spencer, as the time frame doesn't work otherwise.
Costner's dad (Dabney Coleman) is almost certainly inside Elizabeth's belly right now.
Well, the cast has not been told. They keep asking. Taylor is keeping it a secret. But take a second to look at whether or not she’s pregnant. We don’t know. She lost her period. After major health crisis. They do not have tests. And the dialog in bed really put it into question, possibly, in episode six. Alex and Spencer have been having regular relations lol. She could also be pregnant. Even though they are about 3 months separated in timeframe. So it can work time wise. The reason normally there is confusion in a family tree, is if there is a secret. So much can be a possibility. I believe Elsa said only one of her brothers lived through the depression. And led the family and saw his children grown. That would be Spencer. So his kids will factor in. If Elizabeth can still have children, that of course is a possibility. But I’m not sold she’s pregnant. The timing is also interesting with how they have said Kevin is 5th Gen. Having just watched a documentary on a grandson of a founding father that is still alive…. Due to their mothers being second wives. Fathers were over 65 when they were born.
The reverse could be true, and typical of that era. If a child would be born to Alex and Spencer in 1924, that child could produce their own children as early as 1940….. putting it not so unlikely that another young pregnancy could happen around 1960. Still making Kevin Costner 5th Generation. Spencer his great grandfather. Just chewing ideas.
@@Ashley_e If Spencer is the great-granddad, the two following generations would have to conceive at the ages of 15/16 in order for Costner's John to be born in the mid to late 50s as he was.
Even then, 1940+ is too late for the Dabney Coleman character to be born. He appears to be in his 80s or thereabouts in the Yellowstone flashback which takes place in the 2000s or 2010ish.
@@BlueGorillaInTheMist Tessa’s birthday ever been revealed? I assume he was in his early 60s. So he would’ve been born around 1960.
@@Ashley_e Assuming you meant Costner, his character is estimated to have been born in the mid 50s, like his real life age. I think there may have been an indication or two in the show to that end.

The patterns on the two glasses are COMPETELY different. Completely. We're not blind.
I really want Spencer and Alex to be JD's true grandparents (I have a theory as to how this could be possible), but this doesn't qualify as anything but a silly red herring.
