thanks for sharing your story, I too love buying collections and a as well as sorting, rebuilding, restoring, its the stories that come along with these awesome items! yo joe!
I re-sold GI Joe collections while building my collection from 2001-2007, mostly through Ebay but I also created a website for direct sales. I named that business The M.A.S.S. Device and still sell some stuff on Ebay to this day. I even made it my full-time job for a couple of years. I totally understand your story and it was fun listening to it to bring back memories. We should all be slow to anger and try to see things from the other guy's perspective, especially when we've never done what they do. It ain't easy making a living buying and re-selling toys.
I would have dropped it as soon as he said he said he didn't want to sell anymore. Most of the time it's just not worth the headache of the back and forth. Interesting how it turned out...
That is my first time seeing the intro that is crazy creative a lot of people don't know toy selling can help sustain your living situation I knew it was real when I brought a car about 3 years ago by selling part-time on eBay and I was only selling doubles and extra stuff I had so I can imagine what real toy sellers is making
Justice my brother in blue I have watched your videos for years, first time I have posted on your Chanel I agree with the way you do business time is what is the most pricey of it all I have been doing the same thing you are doing but I have been doing it for 30 years but I buy everything lol and do houses clean outs in the Boston Ma area only if they have cool stuff I’m looking for because people don’t get it they don’t trash dumpster are so much money now for a rental they charge a flat fee and then are you ready they charge a weight fee and they charge per day for the dumpster if you go over a week that you need to keep it then your time and the gas cost and then to hire people to help you with labor to box up and pack stuff up and then to get trash and the junk in the dumpster on top of the fees for eBay pay pal taxes shipping cost packaging materials and so people think that you just get big money for there stuff out of the deep blue does not work that way OH OH And the big one Justice everybody WANTS CASH ! for that stuff you are buying so they do t have to pay tax on the money and come on they don’t pay any tax on cash given for used stuff we are buying ,and it takes us so long to get are money back I have the same thing’s happen to me a lot like you I do just buy toy collection to that are all boxed up and I always here EBAY IT goes for so much on eBay but after fees taxes and so on some times it’s the seller how makes out good he’s folding up cash and moving on … I do see you are fear with buyers too your a good guy I think Justice keep it up my brother wish I could show you my collection…. Take it easy and keep buying your brother in blue From Ronin BOSTON MA ……
God Bless brother! Such an amazing story and God bless the seller! Its tough for someone to admit when they were wrong or didn’t handle something correctly. Good on you too man. I love stories like this. I’m into sports cards but I have a ton of toys. I do a live sports card auction on UA-cam every Saturday night. I’d love to bring you on and talk toys one of these Saturdays if you’re interested man.
There's a lot of people who don't know or think about all the steps that go into these kind of things. We also never know what others are going through, their experiences, or if their having a bad day etc. Sometimes its good to give others the benefit of doubt and follow that feeling we get. Everything happens for a reason. Mind telling me how often you come across the SS Flagg in ok condition good enough for my 5 year old to have fun with?
@@justicecury9001 Ok Thanks I was thinking about just making him something like it to play with instead like our giant castle grayskull build. I was hoping to get a beat up flagg for dimensions etc. Maybe I'll just visit my collector friends that have one and take a bunch of pics and measurements. Thanks again
Trying to get back into some serious Joe collecting now that I finished up my Masterpiece Transformers. Wish list is the usual suspects of 25th anniversary figures or complete decent-shape preferalby complete 80's Joes of Zartan, Dreadnoks with their swamp runner vehicles, Tomax and Xamot, Flint, Lady Jaye, Dusty, Shipwreck, Steeler, Grunt, Rock N Roll, Airtight, Roadblock, Snowjob, Firefly, Ripcord, Wetsuit, Torpedo, Alpine, Recondo, Cobra troopers ("troop builders"), BATS, helmeted Cobra Commander and vehicles also such as Skystriker(s), Awestriker(s), HISS tank(s), Rattler with Wild Weasel, Mauler tank with driver if available, Killer Whale with driver, Shark with Deep Six and also USS Flagg. If you have any for sale please let me know where to send $. Thanks a bunch.
I can’t stand people that say they want to get rid of stuff and that they don’t know what it’s worth then get mad when you make an offer. If you want full value then sell it yourself which they obviously don’t want to do. But it’s cool that this guy came to his senses that rarely happens.
Exactly it happens often they want to sell they dunno the price you offer them X for it and they are mad at you Or they want ridiculous price because it’s labeled Star Wars on it think its worth millions
I hate making offers just tell me what you want and if it's too much we can both just move or negotiate to a price that we can both agree...I feel like they want you to give them free appraisals and then go and show around at who will give them the closest to their desired price...
It's cool he relized and came back and it's also hard letting go of stuff I've bin there many times but back again thankfully can't hate the ones that has there crap together and can make the deals thou just how it is
Hey Justice David Michel here I like stop motion picture all these different ideas 💡 had but not put out . On your broken body parts or what was left or the Kinnikumon coliseum or people interested make stop motion . For example here in Houston my son and When to a mom a pop toy store and I asked for G.I. Joe body parts . We enjoyed making our own made up G.I. Joe's by the parts we bought. Priceless time . Oh I Currently live in the out skirts of Houston Texas. Oh before I forget on the 2nd Kinnikumon coliseum that you had did you still have left or have plans . Before fore your I was going make one out of cardboard I have wrestling figures and excetera that are not Kinnikumon but to add to a stop motion ideas 💡 I had.
UA-cam recommended this video when I'm more of a comic book collector. Good to know every hobby has it's own battles. I would of thought there would of been a gallon size ultrasonic cleaner that it can soak and clean pieces for you. subscibed!
Hello, I have 8" ones that are probably from early 2000's or late 90's - I cannot find a list with images to compare with mine. One in particular has a silver skull with red eyes, dark blue pants and black army boots. I would love your help! Thank you!
I buy/resell comic books. Your story reminded me of how about 80% of my comic negotiations go. Seller contacts you. Sends a few pics or gives vague description of what they have. You (as buyer) ask then what they want for their collection. They reply they don't know, and that they're not a comic expert. You try to educate them. Then they ask what you will offer. You make offer trying to start negotiations. Seller is immediately put off by your offer- often claiming you are "low-balling" them. Game over. You go your seperate ways and nobody is happy. Uhhhhhhhg.
EXACTLY when it could all be avoided if the seller just tells you from the beginning what they are expecting then if you want you can make an offer base off their price and they can accept it or not and we can go both our separate ways and not waste anymore time into it playing the game "well how much?" "Make me an offer?"
I always thought this channel was just mocking joe collectors so I never really watched it. Boy was I wrong. This cury guy has a good heart and seems like a really good dude. Very cool haul I wish I could find those in my area. I subbed and am looking forward to new videos and now gonna watch his older stuff. Yo joe!
Crazy situation man! I really appreciate you for sharing that. Often that kind of things happen and then it went an completely other direction. Good stuff, cool!✌️
Hey Justice Cury , David Michel again gllad to have your videos so I can show other people that don't understand about having toys and stop motion . Glad you can enjoy with your family the same . Have fun and God Bless 🙏 . P.S. Do you Know what Zoids are and we're you the U.S. As a kid .👍
Thanks for sharing that story. Glad it worked out and the seller snapped out of their psychosis. I can understand someone trying to get the best resale on what they have but they often ignore all the steps leading up to their unrealistic expectations; having similar work experience. Collection better be in great shape and sold by your knowledgeable self to get top dollar.
Killer haul! Ya I feel ya I'm in a antique mall so I have to deal with crazy customers and store workers lol today was one of them days and 2 large returns on ebay so that's a huge chunk plus the collection I bought today. People don't think about that stuff. Or like you said later on they do... my mom's Bday is the same day too BTW never forget her day.....
That was a freaking roller coaster ride. So cool how God worked it all out. We let stuff stress us out and ruin our day and God is like just chill, I have it under control and it’s going to be well with you. Enjoyed the video!
As a collector on the buying side I know that I am paying more for something that a seller is flipping. I have no issue with that. All that matters to me is the product condition and price. Is that all lines up I will buy it.
Awesome video. I’m glad things worked out in the end. I’ve been a big fan of GI Joe since I was a kid, but I grew up in the poorest part of Eastern KY which if you’re unaware it’s mainly mountains and coal mines. So my family didn’t have very much expendable cash back in the day. I always wanted the aircraft carrier and the jets for Joe & Cobra. I also wanted the space shuttle. However my favorite piece was the very first that I bought with my own money was Sgt. Slaughter and his tank.
That’s super cool for the circle of life from wanting the most to understanding keeping it in the community is definitely worth more in the end. Btw curious I have the shell of a castle grey skull from my childhood that I got when I was 9 but never had any pieces for it. In your plethora of collections do you by chance have a few parts laying around to help me complete mine so I can set it up so my son could mess with it? Figured if any guy had the means it has to be you. Thanks
No sorry I do not sell parts because I have plenty of figures, vehicles, playsets but the parts are the things that are the hardest to find and when I do I match them up to the whole playset so I can sell it complete
@@justicecury9001 no worries thanks for the heads up. I get it makes the set complete and worth more. I knew I had nothing so if by chance you had a abundance of a few things anything would for sure help out. Thanks though
Everything he is saying is 100% true. It’s not as simple as “you can sell these for __ amount on eBay!” There is a cost of doing business and your knowledge, time, and effort is worth something and a lot of people don’t get that. Whenever somebody says that my follow up question is “ How come you don’t have it on eBay?”. For some reason they seem to get offended by that question and then I’ll say “ because then you would have to : take pictures, list it, put your money on the line, hope it sells, pack and ship it, hope to god the person doesn’t want to return it for the dumbest reason, and pay fees” all just to make a few dollars. Like it is not nearly as black and white as people make it out to be.
You forgot those who win it and then don't pay, leaving you hanging without any idea if they will pay....then you have to relist and start all over again.
A lot of reluctant sellers appearing. The harbingers of recession. I've had some sellers highball me, and say straight up that they don't even want to sell. Okay, man then why are you selling?
hey man do you have the weapon from the Gi Joe William Perry mail away figure? If so, how much? Let me know, thanks, love your videos, glad you got out of the cop stuff, would be horrible if you got hurt worst!!! Cheers!!!
If you can't value your time you won't know the value of anything. Anymore when I buy collections I go.. You tell me what you want for it before I go through all of this. From there I take about 20% of what I know might be the most valuable items and see if it comes up to about 80% of the sellers price. Makes it easier than going through entire lot and makes the whole thing quicker. If they don't give me a price (which honestly the ones that work with me always do) then I tell them I'll be like "I'll give you $x per item" .. usually they say no, go home and come back with a number :D .
Basic principe of business is to do the right transaction with the right person at the right time. And don’t waste time on people who are flaky or don’t have money to pay.
It always shock me how much drama people make for that kind of thing. Price is not good for you, don't buy or don't sell. End of the story. Had a friend angry at me because I was selling a bookshelf and didn't want to go lower a certain price... A bookshelf. Took months before we talk again. If we don't agree on the price, too bad. But that's not the end of the world. Take that emotion and effort to your boss and ask for a raise and see where it leads you.😅
I can relate. When I shoot family photographs, I charge $100 an hour. I hate when people ask me if I can do do a 2 to 3 hour shoot for a total of 75$. I always have to tell them, that (A) I do not shoot in a studio- I do it outdoors. (B) I have to edit them afterwards. I tell them if they want Wal-Mart or JC Penny's shots, go there instead. Everyone wants Wal-Mart like prices these days.
I love watching your videos man! I hope you can make money with this deal, I think it is important make things clear as you explain here. God bless you. See you around.
I thought Rick on pawn stars was bad. Justice I thought you were going to add “I got to pay for framing it also”. Just bustin your chops, I agree with you
@@jamesspindler7131 you can also just cover them with dry baking soda and leave them overnight. But it’s still the kiss of death. The only thing worse is sun drenching.
You shouldn't have even bought his shit since he said he doesn't wanna sell it to you after your offer. And if he came back and asked again, I'd offer way less than the first offer.
Hey Justice Cury my name is David Michel How are you I see you're you're just like I am about to electing and heaven the Lord on your side that's good to . About how you are and worried about people jumping you or empty places empty lots. When I when I collect I don't really sell I enjoy watching. Athena keep on seeing a background that brought back memories big-time for me in Japan as a teen is your Kinnikumon coliseum that is how I stumbled on your videos and like them ever since especially this last when when you're talking about different experiencesmy stepmother ended up through toys away then I restock G.i. joes and other things in Japan I had things called Zoids
Great story God does move in mundane circumstances sometimes and often He will give us vindication later, glad you followed that gnawing of the Spirit to not overreact.
This sucks. Resellers get a bad rap for something that ppl just have opinions on, not experience. I don't know how ppl judge resellers when in the end they don't have to take the deal.
dude I do the same exact thing you do and you are 1,000,000% correct people when they go to sell their stuff to a reseller don't understand that the cost of the collection doesn't end at what we offer...gas, time, your entire day especially if you are driving multiple hours both ways to get these collections is all worth something...cleaning supplies, shipping supplies....people just don't understand they think that we can make double or triple the profit at a drop of the hat...most of the time we have to sort things, clean things, fix things, take pictures, make descriptions there's so much work into flipping collections into making the most profit you can do plus like you said EBAY FEES & TAXES...we have to consider that into our offers...trust me I would love to offer people 50% on every piece they have but some stuff like broken joes or shells with no parts is so hard to move...when you were doing this entire video I just felt like the experience is what I deal with constantly people think we are going to pay them ebay prices and then do all the work...some people need to realize if you want ebay prices then YOU will have to do all the work to get those prices...anyways man this gave me a good laugh and everything you said was spot on!
My family owns an antique store and I deal in retro toys, mostly action figures but a guy came in with about 175 garbage pail kids. Me/"Well sir I do know they are going for a bit and I do dig the 80`s stuff. I can offer you 50$ but you can get allot more from eBay or a collector". Adam bomb/"You should pay me at least 100$ for these!". Me/"sir, you don't have to sell them to me. I told you that you can get more by selling them yourself". Adam bomb/"OK NEVERMIND I'LL JUST DONATE THEM!!". He then left a negative comment on our shop basically saying I was trying to rip him off?. People are just crazy dude.
That's salty. To basically say "No! I want what you could get flipping them but without the work you'd put in to get that price, and if not I'll just give everything away to a place that could care less so they will charge more and I'll just go home empty handed and angry but that'll show you! Yeah! Take that! Yeah....I probably should get my emotions in check and realize just how dumb that is but Im sensitive and make rash decisions I often end up regretting the next day. Bet you wish you offered me more cause now we both get nothing buddy! Low ball me? well hold my beer and watch this! Yeah zero baby whooo" "And when I get home and realize I just walked away from the very money I needed in the first place I'm going to throw a tantrum and blame you because I'm mad I ripped myself off and I don't know what accountability is and I'm now mad." I could see some dude storming out face all red with not a single thought in his head, controlled completely by his emotions lol. See it all the time in my girlfriend recently. Emotions rise even a tick the brain immediately shuts off and she basically reverts back into a child and cant be reasoned with, usually while crying for no reason. Mid 40s, starting to think menopause. Maybe for both?
Remember no good deed goes unpunished . U were nice to that lady for telling her the truth about how u paid for it and it back fired as usual . Instead of being appreciative, she got angry at u and accused u for scamming her Lol . Reminds me when I sold an item on eBay but then I noticed a part missing . I should of just canceled the order but I just messaged the guy and said hey I got a part missing and can I send that part later after I find it or do u want me to just cancel whole thing . And he then accused me of trying to scam him and all kinds of nonsense .like I said anytime u try to be nice to someone, their gona make u pay for it . Oh and u should of met that crazy guy in a public place . Just recently a dude went to buy a ps5 from a listing on some app and they robbed him and shot him dead . It’s on the news

Really wish you could bring back the cool opening song, but this intro was still cool.
The background music to it is copy righted all of a sudden and youtube messes with me when I use it
@@justicecury9001 damn copyrights
Amen
You forgot those who win it and then don't pay, leaving you hanging without any idea if they will pay....then you have to relist and start all over again.

Cool story and picks bro
A lot of reluctant sellers appearing. The harbingers of recession. I've had some sellers highball me, and say straight up that they don't even want to sell. Okay, man then why are you selling?
WHAT STAYPUF IS THAT ON THE SHELF BEHIND YOU.
hey man do you have the weapon from the Gi Joe William Perry mail away figure? If so, how much? Let me know, thanks, love your videos, glad you got out of the cop stuff, would be horrible if you got hurt worst!!! Cheers!!!
O BOY!!! COOL!!! BROKEN CROTCH DUKE! JUST WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED.
Hey man, you still got that Storm Shadow back card? How much
Kudos to the seller. Talk about owning a mistake and manning up more than he/she needed to.
just asking if you put on here some of the ninja turtles figures from the movies on here
If you can't value your time you won't know the value of anything.
Yeah I do the per item average some times and it makes it easier coming up with a total
Feels like buying a storage room 😁
Great video!
I was wondering if I could get in touch with you? I don't buy collection's but I'm interested in some of your items
Basic principe of business is to do the right transaction with the right person at the right time. And don’t waste time on people who are flaky or don’t have money to pay.
Awesome vid brother!! 😎 👍
Take that emotion and effort to your boss and ask for a raise and see where it leads you.😅
I do the same. I ask what number they had in their head. Offers never work out. Glad he loosened up. 👍
Hey JC, do you have any Phantom pieces in your collection?
I can relate. When I shoot family photographs, I charge $100 an hour. I hate when people ask me if I can do do a 2 to 3 hour shoot for a total of 75$. I always have to tell them, that (A) I do not shoot in a studio- I do it outdoors. (B) I have to edit them afterwards. I tell them if they want Wal-Mart or JC Penny's shots, go there instead. Everyone wants Wal-Mart like prices these days.
Lol, too funny
I love watching your videos man! I hope you can make money with this deal, I think it is important make things clear as you explain here. God bless you. See you around.
I thought Rick on pawn stars was bad. Justice I thought you were going to add “I got to pay for framing it also”. Just bustin your chops, I agree with you
You're a good dude 👌 totally understandable. Keep doing what you do.
Cigarette smell is the kiss of death for any toy or collectible. It gives me chills just thinking about it. 🚬 ☠️ 💨
Soak them in a tub with vinegar and baking soda for 24 hrs. Works like a charm.
If you ever come across an Alley Viper vehicle, I believe called Fury something. Would love to have that. But yes be kind to others :)
do you have an online store?
After he got mad at you I bet he watched Toy Story 3 for the first time and it had a profound effect on him. xD
Nice V1 Storm Shadow full card back
I know right. Hit me up if you need it;)
I believe eBay's fees are 12.9% for toys. Not 15% like stated in this video.
Enjoyed your story.
love you justice Cury love your video
Cool video dude!
We demand JUSTICE! 💪🏾
Hearing this makes me appreciate EBay seller more.
Very interesting and informative video - thanks for sharing 🎃
why do you look at sold bid listings? they are notorious for not selling at current market value.
Great story God does move in mundane circumstances sometimes and often He will give us vindication later, glad you followed that gnawing of the Spirit to not overreact.
would love to see what you have for sale...
This sucks. Resellers get a bad rap for something that ppl just have opinions on, not experience. I don't know how ppl judge resellers when in the end they don't have to take the deal.
Never be the first to offer a price.
dude I do the same exact thing you do and you are 1,000,000% correct people when they go to sell their stuff to a reseller don't understand that the cost of the collection doesn't end at what we offer...gas, time, your entire day especially if you are driving multiple hours both ways to get these collections is all worth something...cleaning supplies, shipping supplies....people just don't understand they think that we can make double or triple the profit at a drop of the hat...most of the time we have to sort things, clean things, fix things, take pictures, make descriptions there's so much work into flipping collections into making the most profit you can do plus like you said EBAY FEES & TAXES...we have to consider that into our offers...trust me I would love to offer people 50% on every piece they have but some stuff like broken joes or shells with no parts is so hard to move...when you were doing this entire video I just felt like the experience is what I deal with constantly people think we are going to pay them ebay prices and then do all the work...some people need to realize if you want ebay prices then YOU will have to do all the work to get those prices...anyways man this gave me a good laugh and everything you said was spot on!
Wow! All that for free..amazing
I don’t think you should waste your time if there broken
It was for sure worth my time
Great video
Yeah zero baby whooo"
"And when I get home and realize I just walked away from the very money I needed in the first place I'm going to throw a tantrum and blame you because I'm mad I ripped myself off and I don't know what accountability is and I'm now mad."
I could see some dude storming out face all red with not a single thought in his head, controlled completely by his emotions lol. See it all the time in my girlfriend recently. Emotions rise even a tick the brain immediately shuts off and she basically reverts back into a child and cant be reasoned with, usually while crying for no reason. Mid 40s, starting to think menopause. Maybe for both?
Just another day and life of a collector
my friend love your videos imma hit you up soon
Cool
I see a Cobra Boat in one of the box's
Hey justice cury your my favorate youtuber
Thank you
Remember no good deed goes unpunished .
