At 1mill now it's far too much of their liquid money to give up into an investment now that they'll have to wait for a decade or two for the investment to pay off but it will be worth an insane amount in the future. That's how Antiques Roadshow works. Pawn Stars has already made the deals by the time the items and interactions are recorded for the show. The items are real, the people are real, but what you see on the show is a recreation of the negotiations between Rick, Chumlee, etc and the sellers as it is illegal to record the real negotiations between a pawn broker and buyer/seller in Nevada

The guy selling the Super Mario game is a business partner with the 'expert' they brought in. There is three of them who have been trying to boost the value of video games for the last few years. Its an interesting story and worth looking up

Chumlee is like a little kid, but he makes the show fun, even if he never buys anything he is still a big asset for the series......would be pretty boring without him.
When they call in the experts, I wonder if they have an agreement with them to undervalue the item in front of the customer?

C’mon man, this is the history channel. These items are handpicked, customers are actors, experts are likely on set all day as they knock out items for serval episodes at a time. There’s a script the guys have followed from season 1 episode 1.

Rick: - I give you 1600.
