Oda displaying Luffys rage as soon as someone mentions something bad about Shanks makes me think he will be deluded by Shanks later on, or have to break his image of him in some way. Because the interaction with Shanks and Barto, even if Barto did bad, he is still a friend to Luffy that no matter who you are, you dont mess with his friends. So yeah, I believe Oda is starting to show more of the "perfect image" that Luffy has for Shanks, to then be obliterated by Shanks real behavior or intentions.
Robin getting her hair back from part 1 was such a nice moment. She always feel very mature, but seeing a part of her child or younger self still there like we all have is something that was really heartwarming. I hope they get to meet soon, and Saul is ok! I really love the thumbnails as usual. Really captured the moment well!
There is no way Loki is a villain. Befriending the animals is not something a One Piece bad guy does. I'll bet good money that he's extremely misguided, maybe even heroic. Wouldn't be surprised if the real twist was that the former King wanted to sell the country out to the WG, and Loki prevented it and took the scorn of his people on himself when they assumed he did it for power. The lore implications of Joyboy dying in Elbaf are also really interesting. No wonder Loki and the other Giants would be deluded into thinking they have the Sun God fruit.
I feel like that’s the point of lokis character tho. To make you think and see him the way he wants you too, then he turns on you at the last second. You could be correct tho.
Oh my god. Loki is gonna have the Gomu Gomu no Mi, ain't he? An actual Gomu Gomu no Mi, who all the Giants thought was the Hito Hito no Mi: Nika Model.
I don't think Oda would kill Saul right now, my guess is that he's just putting him in a coma to wake him up in a critical moment or after all the events on the island are unfold. Saul will probably have critical information for the crew so putting him aside at this moment feels like the right thing to do for us to focus on what is about to append

Murphy. Why are you doubting yourself so much? Lol. That’s literally what’s happening. Robin is hoping her friend and father figure will recognize her. The only connection to her childhood, good or bad, left in the world. If I had to choose, completely out of context, I would say her modern haircut looks much better, but combined with the story and the expression on her face, (and also brooks face lol) I am absolutely loving this so much.
I can picture Robin using her power to flower up a giant version of herself so she can give Saul a proper "giant" hug with them both sobbing "dereshishishi" into each-other's shoulders. Yeah I'm preppin for a long cry.
You know, Luffy's reaction to Loki insulting Shanks makes me wonder if something about Loki's story or this arc in general will end up making Luffy question Shanks. Luffy's already not going to be stoked that Shanks wiped out Barto. I could see a path to them becoming antagonistic.
"I had hoped one day we could hold hands and walk together" from robin to Olvia gets every time i think about it. Oda does such a great job thinking about details like that. The sort of trauma that can affect people without them realizing it
Hmm I feel like Shanks's family had the Gomu Gomu No Mi since the void century, so that is why no one knows its existence, also allowed the WG to pass off the Nika fruit as Gomu Gomu fruit. Coz I feel this to be weird no one "dreamed up" the Gomu Gomu fruit. Also, he might have made Loki think he has the Nika fruit but it is just the Rubber fruit. Also this also gives credence to the theory that JoyBoy was a giant... All of this from some one else observing Luffy's bounty + Loki's bounty is 5.6 B (Go.Mu) Now, this might simply be a fun wordplay by Oda, but it can of course be more...
Luffy's action more reminded me of Ace than Shanks to be honest. Ace couldn't let it slide when Whitebeard was insulted, even though Akainu was clearly taunting him.
Loki calling shanks a coward and the giants being so related to norse mythology makes me think that how they got loki locked up could be similar to the story of how tyr convince fenrir to be chained up. Shanks convince loki somehow to be locked up without much violence and loki holds that grudge because of it. It would also make sense for the devil fruit he has to be the mythical zoan Fenrir.
The "all the giants were needed for Loki" thing is a separate matter from him getting chained up. Loki was chained up 6 years ago, but the reason Hajrudin's crew couldn't be on Egghead was because Loki almost escaped within the last few days, and all the giants were needed to restrain him again.
loki being imprisoned for 6 years becomes suuuuuper interesting when you consider that shanks has also been considered an emperor for 6 years could just be a coincidence but i’m inclined to believe they’re related somehow. with how much rapport shanks seems to have with the giants, it would seem clear that he probably assisted them in defeating/chaining up loki which has the potential to have a LOT of interesting implications for shanks as we learn more about loki’s character and whether he’s actually a good or bad guy
In his last One Piece video, Daniel Greene mentioned that if he has one "waifu" then it would be Robin. Out of all the things in this chapter, above all else, I just could not think about how much I can't wait until he gets caught up again.
Just hearing Merphy describing the least bit of conversation we all need Robin and Saul to have face to face made me teary eye. When that chapter drops it’s gonna hit different
I think it's interesting that Brook was the one to cut Robin's hair. Brook also wants to reunite with an old friend and values his afro so that Laboon can recognize him. Out of all the Strawhats, Brook was best understood the assignment.
I wasnt expecting to tear up just looking at an image of Robin getting a new haircut. I'm not strong enough for the Saul reunion. That chapter is probably gonna have to be one that i save for after work because i dont wanna be crying on my lunch break
8:45 - you may be mixing that up with Fenrir. They didn't just need everyone, even then, the only way to get it done was Balder (I think it was Balder) putting his arm into Fenrir's mouth as collateral which was then - unsurprsingly - bitten off after they tricked him into being chained up.
I love how when someone insults Shanks in front of Luffy, he reacts like DBZA Gohan did when Turles insulted Santa “DONT YOU DARE TALK SH*T ABOUT SANTA!”
I don't think Luffy agree that no one should be chained I mean look at crocodile and Doflamingo Look at what he did in impel down, he didn't free criminals for no reason
Loki is confirmed supreme king haki user this chapter because he tamed animals and its going to be hype seeing a giant use that. Also confirmed is that he is a DF user because he's chained in sea prism stone, which we know is useless against pure haki users. So he probably succeeded in stealing and eating the treausered fruit of the royal fam of Elbaf which must be the reason for his imprisoning. He also has beef with Shanks, so he probably helped in chaining him. All speculation, but Oda wouldn't write all these details in for no reason.
8:00: I actually hate it. You can't do the "your princess is in another castle" forever. Luffy has prove himself as great pirate, their reunion is overdue. Yet, Shanks keeps evading Luffy like a cheating boyfriend who knows he's been busted.
It’s more than that. Luffy told shanks that he would surpass shanks’s crew. In order to be a great pirate, so luffy has to become the Pirate King, who’s greater than the emperors. So shanks saying it’s time to get the one piece, when luffy gets it, he will have Origen himself. He can’t just see him, before luffy fulfills his end of the promise.
huge disagree, because for it to be a "princess in another castle situation", you're assuming Luffy is actively looking for Shanks, which he isn't. Luffy just wants to have a fun adventure, and while seeing Shanks would definitely be great, he's more worried about exploring the new place he's at
Loki has the potential to be a really interesting inversion of One Piece's theme of freedom. Luffy has taken on the role of a liberator who brings freedom and agency to those around him. But what happens when he gives freedom to someone who will only use that freedom to hurt others?
Just a thought what if the "fall" of Saul make him lose all his memories and he doesn't get his memories back in the entire arc but ends up sacrificing himself for Robin and still doesn't remember her .
I'm betting that Saul is literally fine, just his legs are still frozen or something so he's all clumsy and falling. And I almost cried when I saw robins hair, SHES SO FREAKING CUTE!! Her doroshishi laugh is going to crack me
Idea just came to me but what if Saul writes a letter write before he dies for Robin to read? Maybe they meet maybe they dont, but either way its too short so the letter is everything he wanted to say. Like the Poneglyps telling the story of an ancient kingdom that is about to be destroyed. It's the start of Robin's dream of learning about the void century afterall
Loki calling Shanks a "coward of a pirate" also spits in the face of their promise, since the whole spirit of that was that Luffy becomes as great or greater of pirate than him.
Merphy: Can’t you just give me that, Oda? :((( Oda: Hmm hmm I can I can… great points! And narratively, it’ll be sweet if Saul comments that it’s not her hair why she stands out to him, but her Dereshishishi…. BUT WHAT IF I- Merphy: NOOOOOOOOOooooOoo :((((
i wonder if in some way or extent Loki agreed/chose to be chained, or even if Loki is not fully chained. when Loki asked Luffy what Luffy made of the situation Luffy answered without making judgements, only describing the appearance, that Loki is chained up. Then Loki says no man chooses to be chained, providing the idea that Loki was forcibly chained. Luffy doesnt respond to this idea, just the length of time Loki’s been chained, and at least is hesitant after Loki’s deal is presented. Likely Luffy says hmm to Loki’s offer of wiping our another pirate crew, but also Luffy has encountered situations where someone consented to being being chained up (like Zoro for example, in Romance Dawn), and so partly may be reacting to Loki’s implication that Loki was chained forcibly. its also possible that Luffy’s matter of fact statement of the appearance of the situation, and Loki’s follow up, could be Oda playing the reverse game Oda played at the beginning of the arc when the crew on Elbaph thought they were free but were actually imprisoned.
I think its interesting that this is the 3rd (4th? - is the tree the Sunny's Keel is from one of the ones we know?) ancient magic tree we have learned about. Ohara, Fishman Island Sun Tree, and now Adam. I don't know exactly what that means, but it feels relevant enough to note at this point.
And don't forget the "DERI SHI SHI SHI SHI" moment when robin and Saul finally reunited, in that everything is going to tears and tears like a tsunami of nostalgia. 😂😚😭

I think it's interesting that Brook was the one to cut Robin's hair. Brook also wants to reunite with an old friend and values his afro so that Laboon can recognize him. Out of all the Strawhats, Brook was best understood the assignment.
Hear me out.
Loki is Buggy 2.0
I wasnt expecting to tear up just looking at an image of Robin getting a new haircut. I'm not strong enough for the Saul reunion. That chapter is probably gonna have to be one that i save for after work because i dont wanna be crying on my lunch break
10:58 I love this interpretation of this scene! ❤
It's Tyr who puts the arm in Fenrir's mouth
@@XDEnd00 Right, Tyr. My bad and thanks for the correction :)
I thought I was the only one who thought the 2 week break felt longer.
Is Loki a baddie? Yes💅
A goodie? We aren't sure 😅
I love how when someone insults Shanks in front of Luffy, he reacts like DBZA Gohan did when Turles insulted Santa
“DONT YOU DARE TALK SH*T ABOUT SANTA!”
I don't think Luffy agree that no one should be chained
I mean look at crocodile and Doflamingo
Look at what he did in impel down, he didn't free criminals for no reason
Luffy fighting Loki is how we're going to see how close he is to Shanks
Dragon and Yassop are in a "child support evasion" competition and Shanks is helping Yassop win. 😂
Luffy just wants to have a fun adventure, and while seeing Shanks would definitely be great, he's more worried about exploring the new place he's at
Keep in mind that Brook totally understands her request. He's been keeping his own hair style the same so that Laboon will recognize him.
Her doroshishi laugh is going to crack me
Luffys needs a giant on his crew ........ LOKI...... wink wink
I'm glad robin got her old look back for saul, surely oda wouldn't do anything to ruin that wholesome reunion right guys😃
I already cried so much during Kuma's backstory, don't do it to me again Oda! 😭
When I think about it, it's interesting Loki doesn't know who is Luffy.
What does Loki know about what happened in the world over the past 6 years ?
Merphy: Can’t you just give me that, Oda? :(((
Oda: Hmm hmm I can I can… great points! And narratively, it’ll be sweet if Saul comments that it’s not her hair why she stands out to him, but her Dereshishishi…. BUT WHAT IF I-
Merphy: NOOOOOOOOOooooOoo :((((
and it looks like we already have another unexpected break for two weeks 😭😭😭
Both: Dereshishishishi!
Please, Oda.
I want luffy and Buggy to gang up on Shanks in front of everybody with questions..
i wonder if in some way or extent Loki agreed/chose to be chained, or even if Loki is not fully chained. when Loki asked Luffy what Luffy made of the situation Luffy answered without making judgements, only describing the appearance, that Loki is chained up.
Shanks may not have single-handedly defeated Loki, but that sure is how he does everything else...
Luffy just going into Gear 4 was soooooo funny after Loki Slandered Shanks.
Loki, god of deception; Robin, archeologist who values information and the truth.
I wonder if these things are connected.
Loki callin shanks a coward reminds me of ch 1, where shanks, against the traditions of elbaph, fought dirty to capture loki, gaining his yonko status
And don't forget the "DERI SHI SHI SHI SHI" moment when robin and Saul finally reunited, in that everything is going to tears and tears like a tsunami of nostalgia. 😂😚😭
