What if the 3 poneglyphs that tell us about the Ancient Weapons are categorized as directional? They are telling us a location (even it's not the location of a poneglyph). That would make it 13 directional poneglyphs to point us to the location of 13 (9+4) Rio and Road/Lode poneglyphs, and 3 directional poneglyphs to point us to the location of the 3 Ancient Weapons, which would make the numbers add up perfectly.
It also bears mentioning that Tamago says that there are ROUGHLY 30 stones, so there could be 1 more or less. I'd like to imagine that Joy Boy's apology is not part of the actual 30 and instead an extra one.
I'm just still so confused why we never got the post-arc scene of Robin telling us what the poneglyphs in whole cake and Wano said..I was looking forward to finally getting that scene where she explains it and we got a lore dump but he just moved on and we never heard what they said and it kind of seemed like a tease haha

Thoughts from an Archaeologist, the directional poneglyphs are not completely useless beyond directing where the rio poneglyphs are, because they show how the people 800 years ago saw and navigated through their world, and if the climate or geography has changed since then, with rising sea levels, than it can help to provide a clearer picture of what the planet was like back then. They may also provide the information as to the order that the rio poneglyphs should be in. It would also provide context for the ancient kingdom and the location of their allies who protected the stones, or at least the islands in which they thought they would be safe, which speaks to the political climate of the time It might not be as big as the official historical texts, but it could provide important contexts

Curious if that had anything to do with what Rocks was so mad he went to God Valley and called in his full crew for? I also tend to think Big Mom stole her Poneglyph from Elbaph, and the 4th one from Fishman Island is protected by the Burn Scared man Hanafuda who is always sailing so his weapon can swing and create whirlpools and the other side of the chain is a giant anchor ball to escape his own whirlpools. Leffitte should be in Red Port trying to find that mans location, be smart if a man who can summon whirlpools avoids long resupplies or stops in port so he can easily escape pursuit of other ships.
There are still a lot of questions left unanswered over the poneglyphs and how each connect together to form one history left forgotten for 800 years. I cant wait until all will soon come to light, it’ll surely be one big mind-blowing discovery in all of one piece. Outstanding video as always!
I think I know the loaction of all four road poneglyphs. We know original location of two of them: 1. Land of Wano, 2. Phantom island Zou... Third one was in the posession of Big Mom and the fourth one is now with the man marked by flames. We know that the one which man marked by flames has was originally in the Fishman island. I was seeing a patern that all of those poneglyphs share. One was under water with the clan that has one of the ancient weapons - Poseidon. Second one is with the Wano country that has another ancient weapon - Pluton. Thrid one is with Zunesha, which has to do something with all of those. However, we don't know how did Big Mom got the last one. My theory is that, she got it from the God Valley, island of World Government. We know that Roger got it from her somehow. If one of them is under water, where under water weapon (Poseidon) is, and another one of them is pretty much on the ground, where ground weapon (Pluton, the ship) is, the last one must have been somewhere in the sky, as the third ancient weapon (Uranus) is moving above the sky. But government has posession of that weapon, so they must have known where the last poneglyph was and stole it for themselves, so noone could get it. But it ended up being in posession of Big Mom, so I think it was on the God Valley, and government got it from somewhere high above the ground. Shanodra couldn't have it, as they were on the ground at the time void century ended. So the last and only possibility that makes sense, are the Lunarians. We know they were high up in the sky living as gods, but government took their place and became the "gods" instead. They could get Uranus which was probably in Lunarian's posession, as well as the fourth road poneglyph and hid it on the God Valley. People of Wano were isolated and protected by the walls to this day, so were the ancient weapon and their poneglyph. Fishman don't have their weapon all the time like Wano does, since it's a living mermaid which is born once in 400 years. Uranus could be the same case as Wano, but unlike Wano, Lunarians couldn't defend themselves (maybe that's why they almost went extinct) and lost to World Government, hence losing their poneglyph and ancient weapon. I'm pretty sure this is how it was - 1. with Pluton in Wano (on the ground), 2. with Poseidon in Fishman island (bellow the ground), 3. with Uranus in Lunarian's kingdom (above the ground), 4. with Zunesha. One thing that kind of makes this theory weird is the reason why World Government chose to hide one of the road poneglpyhs on God Valley and not keep it in Marie Geoise instead, but everything else seems to match up.
Thank you Arthur. Your image about the three weapons, Momo Imu and weakaboshi, made me think what if Vivi is this generation’s ruler destined to control the other weapon. As Imu Managed to artificially stay alive he’s the « ancient ancient weapon master ». Imu didn’t know about Momo because Wano is closed.
I feel like there has to be one on Elbaph now that we’re getting back to the main plot of finding the poneglyphs and then the one piece and true history. Maybe at the base of the tree OR at the very top of it back on Skypeia. It would make sense for either to have one about Ouranos. One because Norse mythology has a sky God too being Thor but two because it would be in the sky which makes sense for a weapon named after the sky god. This would also make sense given we’ve recently seen Ima most likely use it to destroy lulusoa
16:55 logically speaking if you have three red poneglyphs you should be able to reach the location of laugh tale but if it's under water i guess you'll miss it. The triangle the three poneglyphs form would contain your destination point so you could travel the perimeter of the triangle
It's hidden and it's nowhere in map like what happened to God Valley island that "mysteriously" vanished. The road poneglyphs can also possibly acts as a key.
I don’t think we’d get four informational Poneglyphs on two back to back islands (WCI and Wano). I think it makes sense for Big Mom to have two informational ones (not that she would know) and also for Wano to have 1 directional (pointing to the Road Poneglyph), 1 informational, and 1 Road. The other informational one is probably on Elbaf. I could see Elbaf also having 3 poneglyphs - 1 of each kind.
Maybe it can't be recognized without info from the poneglyphs themselves? So people have been there, they just don't know the significance of the island they're on. If Roger got to this mystical destination nobody had ever seen, and immediately recognized it as somewhere he'd been years ago, I could see him laughing at that. Maybe it's even Loguetown.
As you implied must be some excepetions between the 17 wich might be informational but irrelevant to the void century like the joyboys apology, after all there are only 12 important poneglyphs so they had room for 4 or 5 to be you know different and one or two could actually be very important to the story
The One Piece is a Restaurant! If you pile up all the Rio Poneglyphs, then it will generate a QR Code. On scanning the QR Code you'll be directed to the restaurant's Menu.
I think the awakend barrier fruit is why the poneglyphs are unbreakable, used after they wrote their messages, cuz how would they ever even write it in the first place if they're truly unbreakable
I'm calling the official language "Common". That's what the main language is called in many works of modern fantasy, including Tolkien, Star Wars, and Warcraft.
Ah, this is what you referred to with Tekking about trying to decipher them. I kind of like the idea that "the voice of all things" is a form of observation haki, and at maybe at some point we will see/hear what Pudding gets to experience from the Poneglyphs instead of just reading it like Oden. I mean if the Poneglyphs are indestructible because of armament haki imbued into them, why not give them observation haki to unlock by the right advanced observation haki users? Certain users like Luffy, Robin, Pudding, Blackbeard, or Momo...etc
@@Vincent-yp1gj no, I'm just thinking like Emeths rope someone gave them haki. Hidden Island mentioned it at the Reverie and made a video about it, I'm just playing with the idea more.
Actually that's a good idea... And it's possible that only Joy Boy in particular has a special kind of Voice Of All Things, so only a "certain" person (avoiding spoilers) can hear the final, real truth. But I also think that on Laugh Tale there is a kind of advanced technology or machine that only gets activated for that "certain" person hence why Roger was apparently "too early". Only a machine programmed a certain way would activate after a specific time
@shajeeurrehman5648 I'm with you about a technology on Laugh Tale, likely needs whatever the Mother Flame is based on to power the tech is my thought. One of the easiest "jokes" to me for Laugh Tale is that they get to Laugh Tale and something like "Welcome to the capital of (?XYZ?) Kingdom... In order to have a chance of eventually beating Imu we had Toki send forward the Nika fruit to (8 years from now)..." and continues but that was the joke. They just dropped Toki off in Wano, who knew she sent forward the Nika fruit whomever went to Laugh Tale would need, and she knew all along Roger was just living out his last wish to conquer the Grand Line not actually getting Joyboys secret which she had to know. Just a thought.
My theory is that they are called "poneglyphs" because there used to be a scribe called Pone that used to be very annoyed with people reading the stuff she wrote that wasn't done yet, so she created her own script that she only thaught to a few friends so they could be proofreaders (one of which being from the Kozuki clan), so they would literally be "Pone's Glyphs." It's very out there, but someone creating a script that is integral to the story and world because they disliked people nosing around in their notes is right on track for Oda's sometimes goofy and down to earth story writing! Add to that the whole Raftel/Laugh Tale thingy and Poneglyph/Pone's Glyphs does not seem that outlandish anymore.
personally, i find it more likely that one of the poneplyghs in wano was a directional stone, guiding the reader to the lode poneglyph on the island. i think there has to be at least one informational poneglyph on laugh tale, "And on that day... we learned the entire truth of the world... what the 100 year void is... what the ancient weapons are..." seems to indicate that reaching laugh tale is required to connect the whole story, which would make more sense as one of the nine rio poneglyphs than as something entirely new to me
Assuming a 2 dimensional plane, you only need 3 to find Laughtale. You know two are connected by a line, so you just sail the triangle until you run into it. A 3rd dimension messes this up as it could place it, as some have speculated, under water or out in space. The straw hats definitely wouldn’t do this method, but it is theoretically possible.
Normally yeah, but remember this is New World we are talking about. Dont you need like 3 log poses to reach places? So you need to leave from 1 island with logs poniting to the 3 others
Even theoretically it is impossible. 1st How would you know youre travelling in a straight line in an open sea. 2nd Crocus said that grandline is extremely unpredictable and without log pose you could be going in circles for extremely long time without even realizing 3rd Back in Jaya theyve been told that they need to go south in a straight line to get to Knock up stream. Even though its a straight line, they needed south bird to constantly point them to south otherwise they wouldve got lost in the sea
Sure, it's theoretically possible if it's in a 2D plane, but if there's a third dimension, that's impossible because we don't know if it's in the sky, at the bottom of the sea, or simply hidden. The road poneglyphs could possibly act as a key, revealing its location like in Brulee's mirror world.
One thing I think is cool about the mix of the letters 'r' and 'l' in Japanese to English translation is that Loguetown could also be called Roguetown, which is very fitting, since it was where the pirate era started!
I've been thinking it would be cool for Robin to pass down the method to read the poneglyphs. To Nami in particular, I believe she would be smart enough to understand how it works. There is no reason for Robin to remain the only one among the Strawhats with that knowledge, and she's worth way more than just a poneglyph tool in the eyes of Luffy and the others.
@@aggger1 Not entirely as Robin suffered throughout her life being hunted BECAUSE of her knowing how to read the poneglyphs. With this in mind it’s likely she anxious to teach them this forbidden knowledge, while yes they already being hunted down by the government it’s possibly a personal anxiety she has in teaching others. I have no doubt that after the series ending she can let this anxiety go and teach anybody.
the reason for her to remain the only one is because learning an ancient dead language is hard and she would never put her crew through what she's been through just for knowing plus plot wise it removes the stakes of pudding and Robin being the only ways to get them read
@@ellytrabread Honestly I see it in my head as something that could be a big reveal, like a kind of double spread where the entire crew would stand saying in a single voice something like "We learned" or "We know", even Luffy (even though he would say afterwise that he still doesn't understand anything, for a gag), revealing that the crew decided offscreen to share Robin's burden and carry her dreams on their shoulders by learning the Poneglyph language after what happened with Vegapunk. But yeah in term of stakes and story-telling it would be awkward (and it would need a lot of time at sea anyways to make it credible) so I don't see it happening for real.
I wonder if some of the directional poneglyphs are prophetic. Like how the one at Ohara likely wasn’t always there so perhaps one of the directional ones described the original location but also Ohara since it moved.
Rio is also the portuguese word for River. Don't forget that the portuguese were the first european to land in Japan and bring western culture and goods to japanese people.
After watching your great video, And thinking about the man with the fire scar. And that it was located in fish man Island it could be arlong after returning home from being defeated by Luffy. It also explains why the cow fish was in the area when Luffy arrived. Arlong was the first major villain and hasn't shown up. Fishmen can make whirlpools with ease.
Idea for Wit Studio's The One Piece: Hire someone to actually create a written language for the Poneglyphs based on Oda's glyphs (with his approval of course) that the audience gets to see through the scenes and translate.
Thanks for putting this together cause I was wondering about it the whole time you know we figured out the zodiac killers code. What’s with the poneygliff codes 😂😂😂
The red poneglyphs dont serve as the actual coordinates. Some changed location by being stolen, and the one on Zunesha is always moving. Rather, they tell you where the four different coordinates are, and the intersection is where Laugh Tale is located.
great stuff bro you always have some amazing information but in wano when luffy kid and law go to leave the straw hat pirates said that they gave their copies to kid and law so the all had 3 copies so now shanks has 3 and so does backbeard
I kind of wish the information on the ponyglyphs were more apparent and clear. You really have to dig deep or keep track of everything as you go to understand where everything is and what it is all about. But I guess that’s also what Oda wants us to do - search within the story and pay attention to the details by overthinking it.
May I suggest it's unlikely Blackbeard has read the contents of the poneglyph at rocky port/pirate island as otherwise he has very limited justification for kidnapping Charlotte He's likely an archeologist but not one who can read the Poneglyphs and as such whilst he's aware and collecting them he's not able to read them yet
Artur what do You think about my theory? I belive that Loki is a user of a Legendary zoan model Sun Wukong with abillity to become Sulong. Thats why he thinks he is a sun god and thats why his eyes are coverd, to prevent him looking a moon.
I don't the last one is in Hachinosu, since the SH won't be going there most likely. Probably the last one will be at Laugh Tale since it would be very anticlimactic for us to know the true history before the final island
What if the "something something" world isn't a mystery, but rather the literal reading? This world would be the product of the Something Something devil fruit or along these lines?
but but but wouldnt it be enough to find 3 road poneglyphs and just travel from one to another? no matter which one is missing you will still travel through the middle of the diagonal lines at one point of the 3 sides of the triangle

As Imu
Managed to artificially stay alive he’s the « ancient ancient weapon master ».
Imu didn’t know about Momo because Wano is closed.
Weakaboshi 💀
I feel like there has to be one on Elbaph now that we’re getting back to the main plot of finding the poneglyphs and then the one piece and true history. Maybe at the base of the tree OR at the very top of it back on Skypeia. It would make sense for either to have one about Ouranos. One because Norse mythology has a sky God too being Thor but two because it would be in the sky which makes sense for a weapon named after the sky god. This would also make sense given we’ve recently seen Ima most likely use it to destroy lulusoa
Random fact - Rio is also how you spell and pronounce river in portuguese, not just spannish😊
Using City in the Sky music from Zelda during the Skypiea segment is awesome
16:55 logically speaking if you have three red poneglyphs you should be able to reach the location of laugh tale but if it's under water i guess you'll miss it. The triangle the three poneglyphs form would contain your destination point so you could travel the perimeter of the triangle
Underwater…or in the sky?
@maxspecs that too, could also be some weird dimension like brulee's mirror realm
It's hidden and it's nowhere in map like what happened to God Valley island that "mysteriously" vanished. The road poneglyphs can also possibly acts as a key.
@@sfguzmani the physical poneglypths as a key? How would what work if you can't bring them with you
@@Cryosxify Who said physical? There's multiple ways to interpret the word "key". But you went with the most absurd interpretation.
I could see Elbaf also having 3 poneglyphs - 1 of each kind.
bro editing is mwahh cheff kiss
a legend as always Artur
Bros Bounty after this through the roof
You're the best and doing it purely for the love of the game 🐐🐐
Has always seemed crazy thst nobody in nearly a millennium has stumbled upon Laugh Tale, not one person.
What are you willing to bet that Laugh Tale is either a Sky Island or underwater?
Maybe it can't be recognized without info from the poneglyphs themselves? So people have been there, they just don't know the significance of the island they're on. If Roger got to this mystical destination nobody had ever seen, and immediately recognized it as somewhere he'd been years ago, I could see him laughing at that. Maybe it's even Loguetown.
Its just the other side of syrup village's island @gazeboist4535
Artur, do you think "rio poneglyph" could be related to the word "río" in spanish that means laugh conjugated in first person: yo río=i laugh.
😂😂😂😂❤❤❤ love the idea
I think the awakend barrier fruit is why the poneglyphs are unbreakable, used after they wrote their messages, cuz how would they ever even write it in the first place if they're truly unbreakable
Or maybe infused w haki. Regular haki for info and conquerors haki for road 🤔
regarding the Road/Lode written as "Roodo", remember that one of the New Giant Pirates is also named Roodo. And he's a Navigator
Roodo is a Poneglyph who ate the Hito Hito no Mi Model: Giant, confirmed.
I like this idea. Are they actually made with haki?
Since Luffy has the Voice of All Things, theoretically he should be able to read Poniglyphs.
I cant wait Oda made Robin more important of Poneglyph I want she tell the world about it
This Info was so useful, I'm amazed 🤯🤯 really needed this kind of video tho- 😁😁
I think the poneglyph in hachinosu is an information poneglyph about the existence of the four red poneglyph
personally, i find it more likely that one of the poneplyghs in wano was a directional stone, guiding the reader to the lode poneglyph on the island. i think there has to be at least one informational poneglyph on laugh tale, "And on that day... we learned the entire truth of the world... what the 100 year void is... what the ancient weapons are..." seems to indicate that reaching laugh tale is required to connect the whole story, which would make more sense as one of the nine rio poneglyphs than as something entirely new to me
Assuming a 2 dimensional plane, you only need 3 to find Laughtale.
2nd Crocus said that grandline is extremely unpredictable and without log pose you could be going in circles for extremely long time without even realizing
3rd Back in Jaya theyve been told that they need to go south in a straight line to get to Knock up stream.
A video on One Piece with background music from my favorite video games! Is this... an early Christmas gift? ❤
can you make a video about every silhouette that was yet to be revealed and theories of whom they could be
This is great!
One thing I think is cool about the mix of the letters 'r' and 'l' in Japanese to English translation is that Loguetown could also be called Roguetown, which is very fitting, since it was where the pirate era started!
Thanks for covering that language euthanization theory you proposed in Tekkings question video!
Under 1 hour gang 👍🏻
It is reasonable to expect Sukiyaki will teach the poneglyph script to Momo and Hiyori
Momo also has the Voice of All Things
Great Video!
I've been thinking it would be cool for Robin to pass down the method to read the poneglyphs. To Nami in particular, I believe she would be smart enough to understand how it works. There is no reason for Robin to remain the only one among the Strawhats with that knowledge, and she's worth way more than just a poneglyph tool in the eyes of Luffy and the others.
you've just created a massive plothole
@@aggger1
Not entirely as Robin suffered throughout her life being hunted BECAUSE of her knowing how to read the poneglyphs.
“The One Piece is… bread” - Artur, next week
I wonder if some of the directional poneglyphs are prophetic. Like how the one at Ohara likely wasn’t always there so perhaps one of the directional ones described the original location but also Ohara since it moved.
Rio is also the portuguese word for River. Don't forget that the portuguese were the first european to land in Japan and bring western culture and goods to japanese people.
thanks for the video !!!
I just hope at some point Oda gives us a full page or 2 dedicated to the translations of the Pono Glyphs.
I grew up watching One Piece on the telly after school on cable. If I die before knowing the ending, I'll be majorly pissed.
After watching your great video,
And thinking about the man with the fire scar. And that it was located in fish man Island it could be arlong after returning home from being defeated by Luffy. It also explains why the cow fish was in the area when Luffy arrived. Arlong was the first major villain and hasn't shown up. Fishmen can make whirlpools with ease.
Idea for Wit Studio's The One Piece:
Hire someone to actually create a written language for the Poneglyphs based on Oda's glyphs (with his approval of course) that the audience gets to see through the scenes and translate.
That would be pretty cool.
That would spoil the information Oda is trying to keep to be revealed by the end of the story.
Another great video🎉🎉🎉
Music choices were bangers
Thanks for putting this together cause I was wondering about it the whole time you know we figured out the zodiac killers code. What’s with the poneygliff codes 😂😂😂
The red poneglyphs dont serve as the actual coordinates. Some changed location by being stolen, and the one on Zunesha is always moving. Rather, they tell you where the four different coordinates are, and the intersection is where Laugh Tale is located.
Didn't you forget the one Jinbe found in the cover story ? the one in the ruins under the sea
It's one of Big Mom's
Yo you and tekking did the best on your one on one... Hahaha to timeline geek is clashing 😂😂😂
great stuff bro you always have some amazing information but in wano when luffy kid and law go to leave the straw hat pirates said that they gave their copies to kid and law so the all had 3 copies so now shanks has 3 and so does backbeard
Great video, I thought Jimbe had given the road poneglyph to Big Mom. So we've only seen 3 of the red ones.
One man theorized that the 4th Road Poneglyph was stolen and taken to Mariejois.
But who is the mysterious fire scar? A world noble who betrayed his kind?
Its not even a theory... It was kinda implied by shilliew that it could be under government hands
@@nicane-9966 who is shilliew
This vídeo Will have over a million views. First like I give out in 9 years.
I think i would lose my mind if Oda had actually created a whole language
God I love this channel
Lily had a couple nice ancient weapons for sure. . .
River ponaglyph would make sense as you have to read one after the next to "follow it's course" to the truth.
I kind of wish the information on the ponyglyphs were more apparent and clear. You really have to dig deep or keep track of everything as you go to understand where everything is and what it is all about. But I guess that’s also what Oda wants us to do - search within the story and pay attention to the details by overthinking it.
May I suggest it's unlikely Blackbeard has read the contents of the poneglyph at rocky port/pirate island as otherwise he has very limited justification for kidnapping Charlotte
He's likely an archeologist but not one who can read the Poneglyphs and as such whilst he's aware and collecting them he's not able to read them yet
Artur what do You think about my theory?
I belive that Loki is a user of a Legendary zoan model Sun Wukong with abillity to become Sulong. Thats why he thinks he is a sun god and thats why his eyes are coverd, to prevent him looking a moon.
22:29 Fake news, Shanks was given the Poneglyph rubbings lol
Greetings from Paraguay 🇵🇾
I don't the last one is in Hachinosu, since the SH won't be going there most likely. Probably the last one will be at Laugh Tale since it would be very anticlimactic for us to know the true history before the final island
wait matt owens is a patron? subscribed
What if the "something something" world isn't a mystery, but rather the literal reading?
This world would be the product of the Something Something devil fruit or along these lines?
So it’s basically confirmed that Luffy will need to raid Blackbeard island at some point
A gem of content, not a single second wasted. thank you for the recap.
I'm currently re-reading and at skypea, this would help me hehe
Who did the poneglyph animation? looks good
Oh Arthur, the World Government is not gonna like this.
A lot of this video has Zelda music:
Skyward Sword sand temple, and twilight princess palace in the sky to name a few
Nice timing i have a 30min of driving
but but but wouldnt it be enough to find 3 road poneglyphs and just travel from one to another? no matter which one is missing you will still travel through the middle of the diagonal lines at one point of the 3 sides of the triangle
Captain Obvious. Nice recap of everything we know so far 😅👌
The only other author who crafted such an intricate world in my opinion is brandon sanderson with the cosmere.
I have this guess that Poneglyphs are transported using Kuma's Fruit...
Robin also found one when she was young
He is definitely in Wano now 😅
