I used to have massive issues finding the right saddle for me, tried so many brands and eventually ended up having 3 surgeries on my "undercarriage" over the years. Then I found Fabric saddles. Have them on all my bikes now. Amazing product! Thanks Fabric!
Very cool vid, specially for someone that's in the process of start a company or something quite similar to Fabric. Now that I'm thinking, this material could be very illustrative for youngsters to encourage them into starting their own business and be as successful and trustworthy as Fabric. This is new, and I love it! Thanks GCN Team!
Cheers Adam. Even though we display these indications for the viewers, this content is completely within our editorial control. I.e. these are Simon's own views & comments.
I'm using a fabric line saddle for a year now and i would say its impressive. I'm not having a sore ass during and after long rides. Thank you fabric for innovating new products that is really effective, functional and sleek looking. Keep it up. Cheers!!!
Actually got their tri saddle and my bum's loving it. But didn't realize how much thought and design process it has gone thru until I saw this vid. Thanks GCN!
Been testing saddles for the past 4/5 months and have looked at, but not ridden fabric. Will definitely be looking into them in greater detail now (not only because they're local).
I love my FABRIC saddle, it’s ultra lightweight, feels amazing and it’s just gorgeous to look at. And not to mention that, it’s great seeing so many young guys making it big in the industry. Great job guys
Having gone from prototyping a product, 3D printing it to tooling, I can attest to the final bit (setting up for tooling and manufacture) is one of the hardest and most overlooked parts for people interested in getting an idea to market.
Thank you, Si, that was super cool and I suddenly need to become a customer. And I dig your enthusiasm for BMX cruisers and those bikes need to come out and play. Or at least give us a look-see. And the saddles with the translucent tops reminded me, at first glance, of glittery banana seats. And that'd be cool, modern banana seats from Fabric.
I have a Charge scoop saddle on my Fixie and loved it. I didn’t get on with the pro logo that came with my Orbea so wanted to get another charge scoop but they don’t seem to make those anymore I started looking at the GCN show videos on saddles and saw this video for fabric and I was like that looks familiar and when I saw Simon riding through the two tunnels route to visit the HQ I realised they’re local that got my interest. I do want to try some of their other saddles as well but at the moment I have a fabric scoop for my or Orbea and it’s much more comfortable and looks really nice 😊🌶🌶👍
Great series of videos visiting accessories manufacturers. I really enjoy seeing the How It’s Made style of videos. Thanks keep up the great work Si and GCN. And best of all Fabric products are available in Canada!
Really fascinating video, more like this please! Great to see UK companies still innovating and such an eloquent and natural presenter in founder Nick. My next saddle may well be a Fabric!
A cool insight into a little brand who I haven't heard that much about. I would be hugely interested if one day you had a look at some more traditional tech such as Carradice or Brooks Saddles as even though there not super new they do last a super long time and they are chaning and innovating even in traditional fields
I have the Fabric Shallow Scoop on my bike. Love that colour schemes match my bike and they are not expensive yet as comfortable as saddles I own more than double the price.
I discovered Fabric Line saddles last year and now they are on both my road bikes. I only wish they made a more rugged/hard waring version for my mtb. Great video. 😉
Hi Stuart, have you tried one of our saddles on your MTB? Because of the vacuum bonding process, our saddles are not stitched under the base like many saddles so should be more durable with all the mud. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. I have considered them. Ideally I was looking for something with a channel like the Line and also some harder waring material around the corners to hold up against scuffs and scratches. Any recommendations?
Hi Stuart, It doesn't have a channel but the Cell is incredibly good for a mountain bike. It's super comfy, very easy to keep clean and the cover is extremely durable.
So cool. I’ve been intrigued since first seeing the ALM. Not so much for the weight savings, but the concept, comfort, & innovation. Now to buy one & ride it. If the Fabric guys need a US sales rep, I’d love to pedal such innovations. Pun intended. ;-)
Bought a fabric flat race saddle, my cambium and san marco concour are now redundant, I still can't believe how comfortable the fabric is. might buy a fabric shallow for my cross.
Hi Si. Just a quick question regarding bikes you ride abroad. I noticed that the bike you rode in the Taiwan kom challenge was not your regular bike. How do you set up your bike (measurement wise)to replicate your own bike and avoid injuries and the like.
Thanks for that one a fascinating insight into a small British company. Very impressive and daring investment in their own ideas which are winning against the big players in the market.
I have a Fabric TT saddle on my TT bike but I haven’t put one on my road bike yet, I still like my Fizik Arione, and want a similarly flat saddle to that one. We’ll see if I decide to make the change. Also, I see you riding through the Two Tunnels Si. The long one is just way too creepy for me
It went together easily in less than an hour. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
Have tried Fabric saddles and love the look and feel but can't quite agree with them just yet. I've realised I'd need a Scoop Flat model in 143mm with pressure relief which isn't made.
More videos like this would be cool for other components. Shoes, wheels, helmets. Cool stuff
Stay tuned Chad!

Super cool video, nice of Fabric to be so open with you guys
Keep in mind this is an advertisement to Fabric, so it goes both ways.
Moved from fizik to fabric saddles a few years ago, I love their comfort and their quirkiness, great look at the process
I really like the transparency of this guy. Impressive work from the team there :D
Great thing being so open about the advert. “AD” in the thumbnail and “paid promo” in the video intro 👍
Cheers Adam. Even though we display these indications for the viewers, this content is completely within our editorial control. I.e. these are Simon's own views & comments.
These videos are so much better than simply "How it's Made" because of the interviews. Great job GCN!!
Great to hear you found it as interesting as we did!

Thanks Jason, we're glad the Line is working for you!
Might buy a scoop as well for my CX build.
Try one out with our demo saddle program?
Yes sure. How can I enroll to demo saddle program? You can reach me via email . I'm so excited to try it out. Thank you very much guys. Cheers!!!
Actually got their tri saddle and my bum's loving it. But didn't realize how much thought and design process it has gone thru until I saw this vid. Thanks GCN!
A fantastic introduction to the brand, ethos, and products.
Nice. I’ve been riding a Fabric saddle for 2 years now. Love it.

Fantastic video! One of the best insights I have seen on the channel. And those air cushion saddles; Super Nice !!
This was surprisingly interesting. Really impressed by how open Fabric were, not at all cagey. Very good.
Thanks Squeezy, glad you liked the insight!
I met Nick on Lewis and Harris while he was holiday. Great bloke laid back with a lovely family,
Awesome video. Really cool that the Fabric guys gave you such an awesome tour. Love it.
Love their saddles go on all my bikes. Great to learn more about them. Cheers!

Very cool, and they dont cost the earth either!

i am going to buy one of these saddles. i love the philosophy and commitment of this company.
Great video! Brilliant to see bicycle parts being designed so local to where I live :)
Really fascinating video, more like this please! Great to see UK companies still innovating and such an eloquent and natural presenter in founder Nick. My next saddle may well be a Fabric!
Thanks Tim, we have a demo saddle program through our retailers and a 60 day fit guarantee so hopefully we'll get you on the right Fabric saddle.
Very interesting clip and how it made! Well done GCN!

Loving these video's. You guys are on fire at the moment!

They (Charge Bikes) collaborated with VANS for that bike? It looks like it's still hanging there so could you get it... off the wall?
Excellent. Very punny.
It's a great bike to 'waffle' on about OJ!
Really cool video and such a cool company. Really interesting!
Fascinating! Cool company..thanks for sharing.
fabric saddle on my caad12 and supersix evo. super comfy and mega light! great product.
Fantastic saddles, and amazing value for money.

John Rogers Last year was the 100 year anniversary of British-made Brooks. Too bad GCN chose to not observe that.
Thanks for the suggestion John
Great video. Really enjoyed learning about a new product. I could use a new road saddle
I've got the Lumiray and some of the Hex Bar Tape.. Great stuff
Fascinating. Love this behind the scenes stuff.
Glad to hear you liked the video Matt
I have the Fabric Shallow Scoop on my bike. Love that colour schemes match my bike and they are not expensive yet as comfortable as saddles I own more than double the price.
Hi Shenava, thanks for the kind words on our Scoop Shallow!
Cool founder, love my Line saddle 😍
I discovered Fabric Line saddles last year and now they are on both my road bikes. I only wish they made a more rugged/hard waring version for my mtb. Great video. 😉

Really interesting, loving these!
Thanks Sam
He rides to FABRIC saddles on a fiz'ik saddle !!!!!!!
Those air saddles look highly interesting !!!
What great innovative company!
Nice video, would have been interesting to hear how they test their products or how ergonomics play a part in their design.
So cool. I’ve been intrigued since first seeing the ALM. Not so much for the weight savings, but the concept, comfort, & innovation. Now to buy one & ride it. If the Fabric guys need a US sales rep, I’d love to pedal such innovations. Pun intended. ;-)
Fabric makes some great stuff, I love the cageless bottles and would like to buy more from them. Availability isn't great in Belgium though :(
I really want to buy their scoop race shallow but can't find it in stock anywhere. Any help?
But.... Will they name their new seat "Softener"... Get it? Fabric Softener!.... Genius
Actually the next saddle was going to be called Conditioner but Softener sounds way more comfortable Saf!
Fabric Cycling ha. I will trial the new Fabric Softener for you when I do LEJOG in September 😉
Very cool. Quite transparent.
I thought you might have covered their innovative drink bottle mount.
Amazing video! Thanks
Great video, found it very interesting 👍
Any hints about a wider range of colors for the scoop saddles?
Nice video 👍 very informative thanks.pat from Belgium 🚲
Glad you thought so Patrick!
Bought a fabric flat race saddle, my cambium and san marco concour are now redundant, I still can't believe how comfortable the fabric is. might buy a fabric shallow for my cross.
Glad you're happy with your saddle Anthony, thanks for being a customer.

Enjoyed that thanks.
love how the company is putting emphasis on environment
Looks cool! I've heard good things about Fabric!
Yass fabric line wide.i will be ordering one.
That stuff looks amazing and I've never even heard of that brand
I love these videos!
Thanks for that one a fascinating insight into a small British company. Very impressive and daring investment in their own ideas which are winning against the big players in the market.
colin lofthouse yes respect but are they winning?.
glenny oc well I guess that's down to us lot isn't it.
Haha 1:48 "oh shit he's coming round to my desk better close down what I was looking at & do some work"
his levis jacket was the best thing in the video
6:32, I need one of those saddles in Aqua Blue
We do it in Cyan blue Muffin: fabric.cc/products/saddles/line-elite-shallow-134mm-saddle/
They look great!
All the employees had a looks on their faces as the boss came around their computers with Si like "oh crap better close all these other tabs..."
Probably watching GCN's Tech Of The Week!
I have a Fabric TT saddle on my TT bike but I haven’t put one on my road bike yet, I still like my Fizik Arione, and want a similarly flat saddle to that one. We’ll see if I decide to make the change.
Also, I see you riding through the Two Tunnels Si. The long one is just way too creepy for me
Nice video it’s really cool

Best saddles ever
Great video very interesting
What a fab.... ric episode
you should do a video on how you film and behind the scenes stuff
3D printed saddles anyone..?
How about 4D printed saddles with scratch and sniff
I prefer my custom 3d printed Tri-bar grips
@hello there - those sound very cool. Hack?
Wow GCN replied to me
But yeah probably
Just watch out for the Russians they might have scratch and sniff metenolone
Fabric make interesting saddles, no doubt. But My favourite Fabric product to day is probably their bar tapes.
What is the length, width and height?
Love you guys

Cool video.
I hope they can partner with Nike's React, Air, Zoom for saddle comfort. Or even Adidas Boost.
Have tried Fabric saddles and love the look and feel but can't quite agree with them just yet. I've realised I'd need a Scoop Flat model in 143mm with pressure relief which isn't made.
