Fractional are great for people who really can’t commit to a full ounce at a time. I think slightly over paying for gold is 1000x better than not having any gold

Secondary market sovereigns will command circa 3.5% premiums best gold is normally secondary market Krugerrands can get to around 2.5%. The 1g bars are 25% plus premiums which is very high. Silver for home storage in the UK is bonkers not only you pay high premiums there's a thing called VAT. Today silver spot is £11.35 for a 1oz coin with Vat £16.69 £5.34 of your £16.69 has gone in premium and VAT so you will lose 31.99% of your investment. Add fractional silver into this and you are losing more than 1/2 your money. Choose wisely just who you take your advice from folks.

You're not really making profit from eBay. The take a 10% fee of your sales and when you accept PayPal that is another roughly 3%. You would need to sell it at 13% over what you paid, not inflation adjusted, just to break even...and this is assuming you have the buyer pay all of the shipping cost (which can lower the amount you get for your auction). Selling on eBay has been a fool's errand in my experience. Not worth the hassle and you'll never get even close to your money back.

Fractional gold is ok when the gold price itself is low (such as £900 last October). I got a deal on 1g silver bars at a few pounds over spot (£33.50 per gram, rather than £40 or so as per normal). They were sold in 10’s so I bought three lots to go with the ten 1g bars I already owned. So I have 40x 1g bars. Nice for quick trade/barter. Otherwise, I’d go for 1/10th oz gold Britannia’s at £105 each.

Just a quick thought. Suppose there was hyperinflation and all you had were 1 oz gold coins. What would you do? Well, I can think of a few ideas. 1) Sell your 1 oz gold coin for 75 or so 1 oz pieces of silver, THEN barter (assuming you can find a buyer) 2) Sell your gold coin and invest in bitcoin 3) Look into 'gold credit cards' like Goldmoney, that allow you to liquidate your gold as a currency 4) Sell your gold and look into real estate sharing, or what have you. Fractional is good for truly shtf, but 1 oz is still okay too.

BYB... I must be frugal as I just prefer to save up and get at minimum the 1/4 oz gold coins, such as the Queen's Beast series. Paying the high premiums to me is wasting money that perhaps could buy more silver or gold. It could be because I also have a very limited budget. If I had a lot of money to spend collecting series of fractionals could be fun, I do understand why some people like them. Your lunar coins are lovely in the display box.

Yes, if you buy at a premium and sell to a dealer at spot, you lose. Who does this? The premiums for fractional bars are inherent and should go both ways when buying and selling thus making the premiums irrelevant. When you buy the fractional bar, you also own the premium to that bar and selling it without the premium is stupid. If you want to go into a pawn shop and sell your gold at spot, understand that's probably not wise when you can easily realize the premiums selling on reputable sites.

Because when silver becomes so expensive,so expensive it buys enough food for a family of five for 38 days like it does in Venezuela this very moment you are reading this,it will make transactions by small denominations to where you do not have an excess amount of fiat currency losing buying power.Three Mercury dimes in Venezuela will take care of you if you are single to cover all living costs for a week.During hyperinflation the ideal goal is to never have fiat in your hands for more than a day. A thousand dollar face value of dimes, quarters and half dollars(715 ounces ) together will do you righteously to get through onto the next financial paradigm in the start over.ASE; silver eagles(500 ounces or more),we stack them for using to exchange out to purchase land and businesses later the size of city blocks.

Concentrate on coins because they're much easier to verify as there's no certificate card to destroy and verifying a bar without braking card without high tech equipment is very difficult. Coins are easy and while no single test alone will guarantee a coins is geniune multiple combined tests will as material physics works for you.
