Succinct and pithy as usual, Michael. I remember a 1999 post from Tap Richards, where he states quite clearly that ALL the expedition information should be made public. This has never happened and it’s still cat and mouse with those folks today. Along with the static “Mallory & Irvine Tragic Failures Narrative” that was put out in 1999, it’s no wonder mountaineering stakeholders are frustrated and highly distrustful.
I doubt the team actually even own the video/photos entirely...somebody else owns key images/evidence...thats why very little has been released for public viewing,They cannot show what they dont own
Seen that Documentary many times and never knew that and to Fake a important event like that is unbelievable and disgusting when they say they admired Mallory and Irvine
By modern standards, it's pretty much ok. At this point, every doc is a mocumentary. Good luck finding any documentary without "re-enactment" and other "reality enhancements" these days.
I had a chuckle when Michael mentioned the increasing Chinese narratives on other channels.

Using a fake body and location makes sense to me as long as they note that it’s a re-creation in order to protect the Mallory’s remains. Oh, they didn’t? Shocking.
It’s all about money and book and movie deals. And protecting that ability Drone footage. The body. All of it. Theses people are constantly lying and the ones that aren’t have disassociated themselves from the main clan.

But I say thanks for I love Truth and Justice to come to such deserving and heroic men. And it seems to me you are dishing out both with a fairly large shovel.

it's not hard to understand why the exact location of Mr Mallory's body wasn't revealed. When items appear to be found all over the mountain my hair turns grey and sparse...
Will we ever know within reason, what happened to Mr Mallory and Mr Irvine on their last climb of Mt Everest? For some reason their story affect me greatly and I so wish more question marks can be straighten regarding everyone and everything surrounding their expedition..

It astounds me that people would go to such lengths to create fake content. There is obviously a reason for it.
Either Conrad is 4 feet tall or the body is 8 feet long. Maybe the yellow suit just makes Conrad look shorter.

If you need to use fakes to make your argument, it's a good bet that you KNOW your argument is wrong.

There is a possibility that Mallory’s family employed lawyers to put a gag order on allowing photographs or video footage of their deceased family member being released for public consumption. This would mean that the crew might need to use a deep fake to recreate the scene in order to release their finding. It might also explain the different jacket Anker was wearing. I’m not saying this is what happened but it may be a possibility.
You can buy a photo of Mallory's dead body from Jake Norton's website, so it is not likely there is some "gag" order in place. You can see video of his dead body on UA-cam, so their attorneys would be pretty bad ones if they did get a gag order that applied to only 1 person while letting everyone else share the photos and videos.
There are a number of reasons they could have used the fake footage. The main criticism is they didn't just put "recreation" down at the bottom and that they sanitized the "find."

I must admit that a negative inference must be drawn if they failed to label the faked body as a recreation. Sketchy indeed. And yet, still interesting.
Instead of re-creating any of it, why not just talk about it. I've watched that show several times and there is no mention this is a re-creation, though I suspected it looked odd at the time. This stunt just discredits that group of individuals. What else is fake ?

Wait, so that "Discovery of Mallory's Body" video that has millions of views is fake, and no one knows it's fake? Wow.
The video doesn't have "millions" of views. And it is more like Santa Clause -- many people know it is fake and they just go there to watch the idiots who still believe it is real. But if you read the comments, you'll see a good number of people who are smart enough to figure out that Santa Clause is not real and they think they are the first ones to figure it out.
So Mallory and Irvine are both still somewhere on Everest? Why did they fake it? It's not a game and there are still family members of those 2 men alive today! It's disgusting to fake a whole documentary on "finding" George Mallory.
Just to avoid any confusion... they did find Mallory in 1999, real video and 100's of photos were taken at the time (most of which have never been released to the public). They faked this particular scene for the film narrative, for effect... and probably more practical reasons. More pertinently we need to ask why the original film wasn't used, and also why those original photos need to remain hidden from view.
