    what did you want to do? attract mosquitoes to kill them or repel them? If you wanted to repel why did you put beer to atract them and salt to kill them? And if you wanted to atract to kill them, why did you add the scents of lavender and mint, which are used to repel?

My body feels kind of dependant upon the ginger now after taking it daily for 1 year. What about pollinators? Bees, lady beetles lacewings etc? The mouthwash and alcohol could affect them as they go after your fruit fly larvae and bees pollinate your fruit trees they could be caught in the alcohol wash or avoid pollinating altogether.

    • @nustada
      @nustada 5 років тому

      @@Tig3rj I don't know about the beer either, I thought CO2 attracted mosquitoes. Maybe the alcohol carries the scent further, as alcohol helps mix oils and evaporates away as it ferments. So maybe a few shots of grain alcohol may work as well. Or it could be the sugars making the solution a little bit sticky.

    I was cheap and lazy. I used a box fan, window screen and seltzer waters opened, placed behind a fan with window screen taped on the back of the fan prior to use. Also used outside an extension cord to reach outlets. You have to find the best distance from the opened drink and suction of your fan that sucks them onto the window screen on the back of your fan. The suction of the fan killed them and the seltzer waters attracted them to the fan. I highly recommend a fan with strong suctioning. It doesn't work for fruit flies. The active yeast, water and brown sugar mix kills wasps, and a variety of other flies by attracting them to the mix and drowning them. I'm lazy and made a few using old Almond milk cartons. Rinse well after use and you can compost cartons afterwards. Online somewhere has exact measurements. I don't know them at the top of my head and I'm out of town visiting family away from my house, where I wrote them down. I'm really a novice at getting a food forrest started. Love your channel. I'm ready to grow my own sprouts. My goal is to also reduce wastes. Love your channel and all the videos! Please keep the videos coming.

    The recipe is not right, I had made this and is 1cup of mouth wash, 3 beer can, 3 cup epson salt. Mix and let the complete epson salt dissolve (do not filter before it dissolve fully) after that spray the House or yard. The rationale is that the smell keep mosquitos away and the dissolved magnesium when dry on the yard it create a small salt barrier in witch. The mosquito don’t like so it cannot hide on the yard and fly to your neighbors yard. if heavy rain the magnesium is dissolved and you need to re apply , if not rain or very dry area it can last for up to 2 weeks

    3 cups of Epson salt.
    1 big bottle of mint flavored mouthwash and mix the two together well. (I didn't see the size but I think it's 1.5 liters or 50.7 ounces
    Use a strainer to pour the solution into a sprayer and prevent salt from getting into the nozzle.
    Add three cans of beer (his look like 12oz/341ml cans so 36oz/1023ml with three)

    If that's the kind of beer you have I'd leave, 😄🍺

    These ingredients were all about the scents. It would probably work better if you placed batches of these ingredients around your yard in a container of some sort. The scent will keep the mosquitoes away. Once it rains in your area or the scent lessens those mosquitoes will be coming over for a drink and dinner once again. 😂🤣😂
