Found the same rub spot on my radiator hose. Actually there are several places where vibrations eat away at the bike. Easiest fix for me was to cut a piece of Duct tape and stick it over the area. It's very durable stuff. My unifilter intake socks came apart after 6000km, the glue just failed to hold them together. Turned out that there was a bad batch...
Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to check my bike when I finally get it. Are you considering a small foam tube to cover the coolant line, and separate it from the fuel tank? That is the first thing that came to mind with me.
Is anyone making a good aftermarket heavy duty silicone based Radiator hose ? It'll be good if you can buy those (if possible) and just keep the stock hoses at home for emergency spares if ever needed
I previously used the no-toil oil, but Ive since learned there is some issues with that oil and the glue in the filters. Now I use the motul filter oil.
hey Nerb quick one for you: i am looking at this video and i noticed that your coolant reservoir is almost empty is this normal? mine is the same although we should be between min an max and thats not the case here thanks for your feedback when you have 5mins cheers
Yes, it was low. I think the bike was not purged of air when it was new. The water level went down a couple of times and I topped it up, and it has never gone down since. I have heard a lot of people with a similar comment.
There have not been any serious problems for me. I installed the air filter early preventing any issue with the airbox leak. My speedo is still out by 10%, but I just live with it. I caught that radiator hose rub. My indicator still has moisture in it. Im now convinced it is Austrian air in the indicator that has condensed here in the warmer temperature. It still works fine (and I still want to replace it with something more bendy one day). Other than these "issues", the bike has been flawless and is magnificent to ride. I still think it is the best bike I have owned (my 8th registered bike). I'm quite sure you would be happy with one. The risk of a dud is small.
Oh ok because I have been reading up on the bike and I have heard about things like the battery won't hold a charge, the bikes not starting, white smoke coming out of the exhaust when the bike is brand new, also having a lot of vibration around 5,000 rpm+ and a lot of heat coming out of the engine. Have you had an of these problems?
Ride4life Also I am trying to decide between the KTM 1190 adventure or the tiger 800 XC has you ridden this bike before and if so which one would you choose if you didn't already have the ktm? btw I subscribed because I think your videos are awesome!!!!!!
Thank you! I have ridden the 800XC. It has an incredibly smooth engine and feels quite small, although it is the same weight as the ktm and 50hp less. It was pretty comfortable and felt lower than the ktm. The tiger has a big following. People love that inline triple. Im a bit of a sucker for the latest technology, so the ktm really peaked my interest. I chase the ktm, but you should ride both. Test ride them back to back if you can.
Nerb1 Ya that Ktm is an awesome bike and it is hard to compare with other bikes since it has all the latest in technology. Technology sometime scares me because it makes me feel like that is a chance to have more problems. Just wondering how many miles have you put on the bike?
Xenos Xanthippe Had the same issue on my bike in the indicator. Drilled a very small hole on the clear at the bottom of the indicator. No more issues. Hopes this helps :-)

SELL IT! Moisture in the indicators?! It's a death trap! Also, did the Uni filter come with that orange foam gasket around the air box?
I wont sell it to you.
Yes, the gasket is part of the kit.
Rad hose gets hot n forms to what's surrounding it . You could go to your local autoplace and get a bigger hose... Cut it and slip it over this hose.
That is a good idea. I am going to do that.
Although i will have to make sure it doesnt wear a hole in the tank!
Yes indeed.. Make sure
Maybe you could drill a small hole on the bottom side of the indicator to enabled water and damp air escape.
They did eventually dry out by themselves and they have been fine for the last 6 years. I was ok with them provided they kept working.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to check my bike when I finally get it.

Ive used a piece of silicone wrap at the moment. I'll see how it goes.

Hey Nerb, wanting to do the same filter upgrades as yourself here. What kind of oil did you use on the intake sock things?
I previously used the no-toil oil, but Ive since learned there is some issues with that oil and the glue in the filters. Now I use the motul filter oil.

dgeeeee Nerb ... you are gonna make me think twice now ... ;-)
lol... my next video will get you thinking straight! Big ride this weekend.
That Moisture on the indicator can it be because its sealed ?? temp change ??
Good video
Thumbs up
***** I drilled a very small hole in the bottom of my indicator that had the issue (Clear plastic). No more moisture in the indicator!
Is that water at the front of the airbox (1:20)?
oil from the filter foam.
Were there any other problems with the bike? I really want one but I am afraid to get a problem bike.
