One of my boys likes to lie- the school knows and takes it all with a grain of salt & calls him on it. Emotionally handicapped is a special handicap and gets you an iep in public schools. Good luck & God Bless.

I would talk to the school and inform them what you think they should know. Show paperwork if you have it as proof so that they know you’re being honest. And as soon as you have time, look up the laws so you have an idea of what they are and how they work.
You should get Mikayla an IEP and definitely make the school and her teachers aware of some the behavioral challenges. ❤
100 percent! I insisted on my son getting an iep, it helps getting more one on one help or special circumstances.
@@rachelhaslip4099I totally agree with you. A lot of ppl think IEP is for ppl who are slow. Not really. My son was on IEP for medical due to his health. A IEP will be great for Makayla. The school needs to know. So that she can have a professional support system. As far as therapy, counselors, etc. So that she can get whatever help she might need.
The boys are so handsome. The situation with your daughter is a lot and I truly pray that everything goes well for y’all. I remember when my parents decided to move from Indy to Detroit when I was fourteen how much hated but after seeing that it was a nice neighborhood and meeting new people later I can’t imagine being anywhere else and I’m now sixty one and still think about how much my family cared about us having a better life outside of what we knew and wanted.
In regard to Kayla, I would get her records regarding her mental health history and the actions her ailment has caused. It never hurts to keep a paper trail on everything to show that she has a past history just in case something does transpire in the new state.

You need a whole crew to pack up the truck then unpack it and put the boxes in the rooms they belong in after you get to your new home. You can do it though. It’s not rocket science. When I seen how much the moving crew charge to pack you up and take you to a new state. I never grabbed my own boxes so fast in my life. The only thing I wish I did different was take the time I said I would take to move but then again I had a plan but I know God has a purpose. 🙏🏽

You have to stop overthinking and upset yourself. Google the Department of Human Services for your new city and community - there are all the stats to inform you of your new community.
Have a discrete conversation ( introduce yourself) with the Principals of all the new schools. In turn you can ask to meet with the individual teachers. Speak from the heart and how you want the best for your children. U GOT THIS🙏🏿

Faaaaaacts on talking to the girls transparently and encouraging them to be their own person. Go you!💛Watch Inside out 1 & 2 with them. The 2nd one I think is really good about touching on some of those topics and y’all can talk about em a lil more. With cps they can always request case information but def try and get a copy for yourself and keep the caseworker info so you have the point of contacts.. and making it a point to talk with everyone in the new state wouldn’t hurt.
