- Labor and the Greens went ahead and took out 450GL of water out of the Murray Darling Basin last year.
They like to say they are buying back water for the environment but nothing could be further from the truth.
The constant flooding of the river erodes the river banks and the red gums.
Furthermore the water runs out to the lower lakes where it just evaporates thanks to artificial concrete barriers that has destroyed the marine life in the lower lakes and caused salinity problems.

Senator, did you know that a lot of the dams and weirs up here in the northern Queensland are actually filling up with sort and soil so they are getting shallower every year. Why isn't anybody dredging these dams to keep adept a water to stop the evaporation?

41 years since the UN prevented us from building dams. Don't think there has been a base load power station start in that time either.

Your a common sense hero Senator Rennick, thank you. The other dam that needs building is the Bradford scheme. In the Tweed Shire the Byrrill creek dam which the Tweed council has owned the land since the 1970s after the 1974 it was planned and almost finally happened under a former Tweed Shire Mayor Kevin Skinner. This has been council issue after the 2001 2008 then 2011 floods till finally a yes vote 4/7 by elected councilors. This vote was overridden by green actions on environmental grounds.
This would have not only flood and drought proofed the Tweed Shire in would reduce the flooding impact of the hinterland creeks of adjacent shires of Byron Ballina and Lismore from the many back creeks overflow impacting the coastline particularly the Goolmandra river which runs right along the hinterland from Tweed to Lismore where it joins the Wilsons river.
The dam enabling a holding dam by flooding of a valley effectively by allowing catchment would have mitigated the breach of the Murwillumbah levee bank the devastation downstream effects of the Tweed river. The 2022 Northern NSW flooding is something that no one who lived through it will ever forget as we waste this precious rain resource and smash our towns and community's causing human and environmental carnage again and again whilst the need for dams keeps getting rehashed and wrapped in red blue and green tape.

Watercorp in Perth does the exact same thing, pumps 100% treated Desal water from the Ocean into the local dams where billions of Gallons evaporate every year in 40*C Perth summers. For reference for Perth consumers, ea and every cube of this processed water costs more than 60 cents. Times that by just One Billion?? Just insane.

@@anthonyfowler1789 we don't need heroes. Every single person needs to do their part. I do mine by educating others, boycotting institutions that are not conductive to the everyday aussie. Malcolm Roberts has some valid points but Pauline Hanson has done more damage than good. No offence but there are many more people in Australia who have much better ideas for the future vision of Australia.
