This is going to be a very nice GQ when you're done. Nick is a bonus for you, he's a funny young bloke but he really knows his stuff & is adding real value to your content. You're building quite the collection of older vehicles now, once they're rebuilt they really seem solid - looking forward to seeing this out there! ✌️
Gee Tyler Nick is really as close to God as you can. Such a great Guy & knows what he is talking about. Not many of these Legends left in the World. Tells the Truth & away to work out any problems. What a Team the wealth of experience is unbelievable. Rig is coming together perfectly looks great as well. Yes loved the Landcruiser Guy & Nick’s remake. I think Nick will have a channel soon. Thanks for sharing great stuff Safe travels Cheers
Your making a California boy jealous! Nice work and selection! Great mechanics around ya always helps. Thanks for great videos! Can’t wait to see it working on the trail!
Haha, yep. The 100AH alternator is going to take 25 of those..... With only 2 to 1 reduction in the Patrol T/C it's going to be a lame duck going up a track. I'm feeling sorry for the clutch already.
Hopefully he does 4.3 or 4.6 diff gears to offset the 35's. Will make it far better to drive both on the road and on the tracks. Transfercase reduction gears would be good for crawling too, but I'm not sure that's what he's building it for sadly.
@@einfelder8262 righto, I must’ve missed the 4.3 part, I’ve watched all the GQ build videos so far but but don’t remember much about the locker install specifically. Thanks mate

I've got those tyres (in 285/75r17) on my 200 series since new. Now a bit over a year old after a couple of trips (SW WA to Gibb River Road last year and then to Cape York this year) and 52,000km they are wearing really evenly and no flat tyres yet. Took them down to 20psi for 60-70kmh on the corregations and I still have my fillings.
Your offroad weapon is coming along nicely. I agree with you in not going black. Are you going to do a build summary (incl. prices) once it's complete? It would be good to see how much it could cost if someone else wants to do something similar. Cheers. 👍👍
Such a sick build series Tyler, bloody awesome mate, that mechanic is a hoot, ya can't teach what he says half the time, but he knows his shit, though never leave a tool on top of the battery, it will get knocked an arc, had to say something since he covered phone torch haha. then the Cruiser going by, lmao, I'm an 80 LC guy myself 1HD-FT but its AT, I'm looking for a GQ as a hardcore weapon myself TD 42 MT, (NO to the mechanic, I'm not getting rid of the LC80 ever, lol 80 for life) so you build is giving me heaps of plans, much of the GU swap was already in the plan, but seeing someone actually do it, bloody awesome mate. I love the wheels, but was the offset limited by the rim model and size you mention only available in 17" cheers can't wait now to see the snorkel and bar work go on cheers..🤘
When it’s time to change tires I will look for the Maxxis AT’s. Cannot imagine there’s a better tire for my Jimny and my kind of driving. - You’re lucky to find them for your drive/use.
Have seriously loved watching these build episodes Tyler!!!! Theses guys are the best and you can tell they have a true passion for 4w driving and these beautiful old cars. Could you please do an episode or at least go through some of the costs involved in getting these awesome old trucks to this kind of level. Would love to do one myself one day. Thus GU is the DUCKS NUTS MATE!!!!!!!
I would pull the front resy’s through the shock tower as mine were like that and rubbed through the rubber. Or zip tie the hose to the shock. I also wrapped them in spiral wrap
Actually am liking them rims at first I thought mmm, but they really suit the vehicle, interms of longevity compared to steelies will see how they go... so can't wait to see this beast in action. It's a awesome build Tyler.
@@TylerThompson90 would love to know when you're up the north end maybe follow along on a track. It is a really nice spot over here lots of good tracks I'm sure you and the family will fall in love with it
Would be near-on impossible to get engineered on 37's, at least on 35's the engineer will have seen it all before and know what to look for to make sure it's legal.
I had the same issues with my gq brake and clutch boosters leaking then right after i fixed that the clutch slave failed and the high pressure steering hose. gq things 🤣 also get a Chicken’s Oil Spill Tray if you can find one they are quite handy when you change oil and filters every 5000k
Had a scan through the comments. What offset are the wheels your running? I'm planning on doing the same gu diffs swap and was wondering what offset will fit. Cheers
Hey mate I have the same setup Gq 35s 3” lift and couldn’t get 35s engineered in Victoria also had my car grounded out on the tracks with alloy bead locks, risky game these days.
It's because theoretically the bolts could become loose and the beadlock ring could separate allowing the tyre to come off. Unlikely but still a possibility unfortunately.
@@harryjankovic9481 such a strange law, theoretically any bolt could come undone and any part could fall off, but bolts exist for a reason. Our Australian laws make my head hurt sometimes

Well that’s for you to decide, because it’s a personal opinion. I think you’re a lucky guy that can experiment making your ideas come true. Well done mate.
I liked your OEM wheels, i guess they weren't beadlock but if you ever got custom forged wheels, I would get them in that style, like an OEM+++ kinda thing

I wonder why a reputable company like superior engineering designed the coils like that, I've seen a few superior sussy builds, they all clang and bang, sounds shit
Yeah when you get their big long shocks they don't really make coils to match so you have to get coils elsewhere, they used to do flexi coils but don't anymore

@@bez2992 beadlocks are illegal across all states, as for 35s vic is a nany state and doesn’t allow it .
