This is from the Metropolitan Opera's production of Don Giovanni (year 2011). I highly recommend it to you, if you haven't seen it. One of my favourite productions. :)

She is a consummate actress as well as a great singer!
Saw this live at the MET. As good as they all sound here hearing these voices in the house is way greater.
The Met's acoustics really are that good. I started out the balcony and I progress in my job, I made it down to the orchestra. The sound was always amazing wherever I sat.
That DELICIOUSLY frightening E flat major scalade and back arpeggio from 3:00 - 3:16 is simply a MIRACLE! It makes all the stage FULL with its despair and craving!

Sandra Acevedo The woman is Donna Elvira, singing her sadness and anger toward a former lover who betrayed her (Don Giovanni himself).
This last one didn’t recognize Donna Elvira and decided (as in his habits) to seduce her and to console her (“as he already consoled 1800 other women” added Leporello).
But Elvira and Giovanni finally recognized each other, she expressed her anger, reproaching him of abandoning her three days after he proposed her, Don Giovanni tried to find an excuse, using Leporello as a diversion to go away. Leporello tells Donna Elvira (on an other song) how many women his master had already seduced

Donna Elvira needs to put more anger into her wish to stab Don Giovanni through the heart. Bartoli was perfect in this role.
Bartoli is indeed an agry little ball of fury as Elvira hahahah
But I myself prefer Frittoli's more subtle and dignified interpretation.
Just a matter of personal preference ;)
Mari Christian bartoli s would not be heard much at all in the big house of met...plus her interpretation is always more of a rabid canine approach!
