    It's a very interesting project, but the most difficult one I've done. Will I succeed? We'll see ;-)

      You are a legend. I suspect the ONLY reason you dont have a 100,000 subscribers is because you are a woman AND .... most - but not all - men's egos are so friggin fragile. I just joined UA-cam and I’m just doin my hobby woodworking on there, but I’m a machinist by day, and have been a steel fabricator for the last 10 years so this video just encapsulates my life, just in a level so far beyond me hahaha. I run CNC’s everyday. Weld, same ol. Used to think I build cars (until now haha)But you Ma’am are hands down my new inspiration. The fact your run weld beads on that rotary and they come out like that. I mean I just paused it staring at that weld like “bro, are you serious??????”

    Nice to see younger builders using breathing protection. I have several friends who didn't smoke or smoked very little but still developed throat cancer. The carcinogens released while welding is incredible specially when using recycled materials so you are burning off paints and other things. I am 76 years old and still in excellent health. My wife and I have 4 adult children, 3 girls and a boy, none are married, and we have no grandchildren. I am one of those people who does everything himself. You name it, I do it. Unfortunately, none of my children have any interest in learning what I can teach them, my only hope is grandchildren which I hope I live long enough to see and pass all this knowledge on, not to mention all the machinery and tools, before I depart this earth. Rest assured of one thing... your grandfather is very proud of you, and you have made him very happy. God bless you and your family. You've brought a smile to my heart.

      I guess one never quite know about children, and possible grandchildren, what they will do in life and what interest they will have. I'm a generation younger than you, and also got quite some machinery and tools in my workshop. I might have child(ren), but it can happen that he/she will have no interest in this hobby, and if so that's alright to, it is what it is. I now kind of have a plan B that there might be someone else in the family, like future children of my nieses that might have an interest, or children/grandchildren of some friends that I can teach, if someone wish for it)

    I was actually planning to build one of these myself soon except I was going to use two wheel motors plumbed in series per side instead of chain drive.
    I do like the chalk/ kerosene trick though. That’ll be useful.

    • @35manning
      @35manning Рік тому

      A lot more to go wrong with dual motors PLUS you may have issues you didn't think of.
      For example, if both wheels are in equal contact with the ground, the fluid will apply equal torque to both motors, but if one wheel lifts off the ground, all the torque gets sent to the other motor.
      Maybe do a small scale test of it first before committing.

    • @stevenbeach748
      @stevenbeach748 Рік тому

      @@35manning I don't know. I think there's alot less to go wrong duel hydraulic motors. Hydraulic motors need almost no maintenance or adjustment ever. They're very heavy duty and can handle it. Chains are the exact opposite. I will admit that if something goes wrong, the hydros are more expensive to fix.
      As far as the torque thing goes, the motors are in series, meaning the fluid can't flow freely so if one of the tires is off the ground, it doesn't matter. This isn't a differential.

    • @35manning
      @35manning Рік тому

      @@stevenbeach748 if they are more reliable with no problems, why don't major manufacturers all do it?
      I'm not saying you're wrong (or right), just that it will be expensive IF you make a mistake so take your time in planning and researching.
      I'm just trying to consider what problems may occur so that they can be accounted / planned for.

    • @stevenbeach748
      @stevenbeach748 Рік тому

      @@35manning its cheaper to do it with chains. There's an oil bath and a bunch of seals to deal with though when building one the way the manufacturers do it.

    Mad skillz for this beautiful girl, and some great camera work, but I'd like to suggest she consider more dialogue to add depth to the experience (commentary, narration, comedy, drama, etc). That's what keeps me coming back and subscribing to channels.

    Other girls' youtube channels: "Look here! I show you the latest make up tricks, IKEA hacks and crap I have bought on Wish!"
    Lucia: " Today I'm gonna build a SKIDSTEER. 'Cause I need one."
    Amazing!

    Fitter and welder here. I admit I didn't know the chalk, water, & kerosene trick to spot porosity. Learned something new.

    Even for those who come from the engineering industry, this is no small project to carry out alone in a home workshop. Hats off to the queen of workshops.

    Hi Lucia, how brilliant it is to hear your voice in English! I've been following your Russian channel for a couple of years and have watched most your Russian language videos... just watching what you do is teaching me lots of new methods and skills. I also watch other Russian engineering creators (Olego is one of my favourites, I think he is in Rostov) as my wife is from Russia (Omsk) so I pick up some words and phrases that I understand. I'm impressed by your work and look forward to your newest videos. Greetings from Southport, UK (30 km north of Liverpool). Best wishes to you and your husband and Grandpa!

    Inspirational, talented and attractive, I would recommend everyone to watch you work, you now have one more subscriber. I hope I don't sound patronising that's the last thing I want.
    Brilliant you.

    Normally I don't catch things like this near the beginning of the series! Very happy to have had you recommended and looking forward to future episodes! I have always wanted a skid steer, so I am taking notes! 😅

    oh my gosh I''ve watched a lot of metal working videos of guys doing fabrication work, very nice to see a women doing this work. I've got 2 daughters who are 7 & 8 and they are already saying certain things are for boys. Society really does teach kids at a young age what girls should do. I try my best to remind them they can do anything!
