As a person with dyslexia sunghoon getting called dumb for spelling mistakes hit a bit to close to home. People also forget that sunghoon has been professionally training figure skating since he was a child and most of his time and effort went there

The problem is with people who never considered that everyone have weaknesses. I suck at math and good with other subjects, which for me is okay. People nowadays often aren't thinking about what they say. Sad.

Yeah felt this. I constantly make spelling mistakes. Am best in my class in czech literature and english, but I constantly make spelling errors and have to pay extra attention to my writing. There isn't one way of being smart or intelligent, there is emotional intelligence too, you can be good in biology and physics or in literature and social studies. You can be brilliant in math but not understand anything from history. I am absolutely garbage at chemistry, but am also one of the best in psychology and sociology.
I hate when everyone expects everyone to be allrounders. Idols have to spend so much time training their singing and dancing, but are also expected to be top-tier students? Some people just aren't smart, but are incredibly talented. And those people prove you can be successful without living in the books and enrich the culture and everyday life with your talent.
Dumb is a lack of intelligence, while intelligence DOESN'T only refers to academic intelligence. Ppl can be sporty smart, street smart, emotionally smart, and they are all considered intelligence too. So dumb is a really subjective word. They've came here for their extreme hardwork and talents, and that's enough

I'm from India and from that perspective in our schools we sure are taught about different nationalities but there are so many out there that we can get confuse about other countries that we are not associate with. In my teen days i knew more about Dubai, saudi Arabia, japan, butan, Pakistan, china than America.
As jungwon is not american neither he studied there. There are chances he might not know.
Just as there might still be americans or foreigner out there who thinks India and Asia are different, but India is in Asia.

To be honest, it's nothing new. Most of the idols had to drop out of schools as they start to train themselves as idols and at this age overworking is not a piece of cake. Because of their training they achieved so much so respect their hardwork.
This is one of the reasons why very young idols debuting or training bothers me, such as Leeso from IVE who's fourteen. Good for her yes, but that sacrifice is a massive one especially her childhood or youth alongside the experiences she'll never get to have. It also bothers me there's no to young but there's a to old, which is about twenty. Also look into the kpop group Busters, they had very young group members and it didn't end up well for them in the end.

Not everyone can be an idol and school is certainly not for everyone. People need to respect other people's efforts. We're all working hard after all. Instead of insulting and berating these hard-working, talented individuals, it doesn't hurt to be kind and educate them properly. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. It's that simple.
They don't need to do maths to perform on stage anyway. I honestly don't know what the f*ck Korean culture even is sometimes. It's like the exact opposite of logic.

sunghoon was an athelete he himself admitted not going to school on a regular basis because of his training, now why would people question to why he wouldn't study and be an athlete? he is so talented and its not like he is dumb that he cant speak a word he is very much of a smart guy
This is exactly what I'm thinking. My guy put in so much work since he was what 9? If he didn't pursue the idol life and stayed a figure skating I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up participating in this year's Olympics. And yet those ppl have the audacity to make those comments when it's clearly them lacking knowledge

I do agree that bashing other people because of their education level is just being mean. However I do think there's a right to be concerned. Like idk about y'all but I'd feel more secure if I still have my papers in case my group doesn't excel. All these examples come from Idols from popular agencies so success was honestly guaranteed, what about those idols who don't break even? It's not a safe bet for them to just drop out of school.
That's true. There are actually many idols who pursue higher education for that reason and to delay military service, I'd even say most do. Many study something related to their entertainment job, but not all, e.g., Nine from onlyoneof is doing chemical engineering and Sojin from girl's day majored in mechanical engineering
I agree, even SNSD members managed their schedules wisely to pursue and finish their eduction such a good role member to all popular idols. Anyway if there's a will there's a way. Education is not in YG priority list. So yeah. Sorry blinks

As a fan of Enhypen, it pains me to see how people are clearly judging from the surface and fail to stand in the idol’s point of view. All the idols in this video didn’t deserve to be bashed. Jungwon is seventeen; Sunghoon was a former professional figure skater. Sure, these are basic things that everyone should know about, but there was probably a reason behind it. When Jungwon thought that the US was in Europe, he probably had one of those blank out moments. It happens all the time. Just one instance shouldn’t be enough to prove someone is dumb. Sunghoon accidentally added another stroke. Big deal! I accidentally add e’s after words all the time. He was asked to spin ten times before answering a math problem, and it’s hard to think straight when you feel like the world is tilting.

the one with winter is definitely just a hate trend. what does the high school level have to do with knowing every animal's behavior? i graduated high school not even knowing that also (i am from a science specialized school). i beg to disagree but high schools do not teach zoology courses like the ones you take on high school, so knowledge on raising all animals will surely not be tackled individually unless you're taking veterinary in college or zoology classes.

Those people are just being stupid. The fact is if you spend more time doing tasks that requires mathematical calculations, it'll come to your easier than people who spend more time on other tasks such as singing, drawing, etc. Those who are calling them dumb can they answer questions related to music scores or sing or dance well. Most people go to school not to grow knowledge but to easily find work in decent companies. Kpop idols can also do short courses or get diploma online or in-person if they want to gain more knowledge. Going to school doesn't make you a wise person. You'll just be good in your area of study.
I am pretty good at studies but in math I am weak if all of sudden people ask me 6 or 4 table I would just be frozen for 1 min nd then answer

I disagree for bashing BLACKPINK members because of their educational level. If I'm not mistaken, Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé were from different countries. They were just visitors in Korea when they were trainees so it would be hard if they study there (not sure if I have a point). Also, they went to Korea to pursue their dreams of becoming an idol. It's their life decision thou, it's none of our business. For sure if they didn't make it as an idol, they are now graduated so stop bashing these girls.

Jennie is actually a South Korean citizen who was educated abroad. She's not a visitor from a different country, but she just studied in a foreign country (New Zealand). She can still study in South Korea, as she actually had that option when she came back from studying abroad but she chose to train as an idol instead at the age of 15 (instead of studying at a boarding school in Miami).

What I mean is everyone has their own expertise. They spend their whole life dancing and singing and acting some didn't attend schools for it. Therefore some times there are basic question that might be very easy for us but not for others. It doesn't mean that they are stupid and anything they just lack the education and have different specialization. People don't have to mean with each other.

Umm.. In my Opinion, Sunghoon Actually didn't got his focused on Schooling because He became an Athlete for YEARS, with a lot of Competition and training to prepare for A Competition is already a time EATER,, plus he Trained for 2 years and One month..
At his age of 10 he started Skating
(Right Age for PRIMARY EDUCATION [which is 8-13 yrs old] in KOREA)
Sung-hoon is the 2016, 2017 junior silver medalist and the 2015 novice gold medalist of Asian Figure Skating Trophy, and the 2015 novice gold medalist of Lombardia Trophy.
(Imagine the time Needed to prepare for those competitions, of course his Schooling times will be stolen again)(plus his regular training as a Figure skater).
The Teenage boy didn't waste his time just for nonsense, he worked hard to make his family proud and collect achievement for their Country.
HOW ABOUT THE BASHERS? Does the bashers already achieved something?. SOMETHING THAT THEY COULD BE PROUD OF?... They could say that they already graduated, but do they have a decent Job like The IDOLS?.. (🤧)

About Jungwon's case I'll say smthg. There are a lot of people who say that India is not part of asia (-_-). Yet that comes off as a small error made as they were absent minded but this wasn't? Furthermore...Europeans and Americans should not speak of this matter as they for sure know where their nation is. I'm asian yet I know a lot of people who get confused.

@@nine999love3 idols mostly go to Hanlim high school, which is basically HS for idols - they get a free pass with just a couple of days attendance and for their idol-talent (It's an arts school). I haven't really seen idols graduating any other high schools with a low attendance, and very few of them study in an university/college. Of course their company will pay for them though, the company pays for EVERYTHING except their basic living necessitates (maybe excluding food, if they even allow them to eat 👍), so education won't be an exception. They'll probably have to pay back with their stages and performances though, like a debt. Let's not automatically think that everything is rigged for idols im their favor, although I fear that it could be a thing with *some* idols, though, not all.

I place a much higher sentiment toward education now that I am older. I also dropped out of school and had to take my GED and then go to a Community College later in life. It's not easy to back track and make up an education later in life in order to get a job to properly support yourself. I also enjoyed school and learning more as a mature adult, but I do worry about what happens to them after their careers... hopefully they just never have to work after their careers end but I have no idea how much actually goes to each individual rather than their company. I wish I took school and education more seriously when I was younger. Despite my wishes that everyone place a higher value on education I would never say to anyone that it means they are dumb and bullying is never okay.

Let me explain , YG is popular for keeping their trainees secret so if the girls even went to school there would be many controversies and bully scandals. As blackpink also revealed Jisoo was a straight ‘A’ student. Lisa is this and she had to learn Korean , Jennie was already revealed by YG so she could be used if she went to school and Rosé would need some time to settle in a completely new country.

Take in to account that SNSD is known to have had the most hectic schedule, she also did multiple variety shows, a sub unit and even a musical during this time , how she did it? Strict self management, is not that people cannot do it is just that the prioritize other things but to each its own

Got7's Bambam got hate for doing non-formal education in Thailand once he came to Korea (a lot of other thai idols were from rich families and went to international school). He got compared and they said he lacked manners because of it, but he graduated school a couple of years ago after doing exams during busy schedules and is so admirable 💚

Sunghoon's are simple mistakes anyone would make, I know several adults who made the same spelling mistake as he did. And if someone just all of a sudden asked me what 4×7= It would take a minute for me to answer that. Especially if I'm tired, focused on something else, and had just spun around 10 times. And Jungwon corrected himself.
When idols drop out of school, I only get sad at the fact that they don't get to experience the fun of going to school with friends and playing around with them. Or even just missing out on learning. But dancing and singing and being an artist is a craft of its own. Some people choose apprecticeships over higher education, too. Besides, it's not like they can't go back to learning the stuff they missed later in life.
Nobody should take education for granted, so many celebrities who won millions failed at some point and ended up without money and a backup plan.

4. In the end, we need to work to make money and some them now are even richer than most of us.. so?

It’s much much easier for a mandarin native to learn korean than thai. If you know chinese font system, and a lot of korean vocabs derived from mandarin too😅 It’s just like a brits learning german.
