We can't just say, 'I believe then continue to live life as though you've never made a commitment to follow Him.

John is talking about a certain set of commandments and he explains this clearly in chapter 3;

That Christians that it's God's will to say that Christians who worship Christ "upon the first day of the week" are SUN WORSHIPERS, when these same people worshiped Christ before becoming Adventist and never worshiped the Sun But, for them, it's God's will for them to deliberately lie about others so they might get one more member to join their wicked cult and become "a Sabbath keeper" as themselves!

I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation.
But God did an amazing work. And if he can do this, he can do it in you also. 👍🏼

The most important thing any Christian can do is to spread the Gospel. If keeping the Sabbath is more important to you than telling people the good news about Jesus Christ, if your focus in on the 10 Commandments rather than telling people that Jesus has died for their sins and that God loves us, then you need to really search your heart and ask God to reveal to you what your motifs are and why you’re living the way you do.

You do realize God told Israel in THE Old Testament that his commandments are near to you and are not burdensome.
We were given the Commandments out of love, we should obey them out of love. If you didn't know they are love. They show us how to love. I have never been more happy or in lack of need than I am now obeying His commandments.
And we arent putting fear in people, we are teaching them how to obey god. Loving our neighbor and loving him. All ten commandments fit into those two categories.

What stands out to me the most here in the comment section and from the maker of this video, is a fierce resistance to keeping the Sabbath. A heap of excuses grounded on an unwillingness to view the sabbath as a gift, and instead as a burden. This is due to many christians wanting to do their will on the 7th day. SDAs do not own the sabbath. I keep the sabbath and millions of others do as well and we dont belong to SDAs.

Exactly my thought brother. Allen in his own word proclaims the 10 commandments but the defiance on the 4th is outstanding.
There's a reason why God himself wrote the 10 commandments with HIS FINGER on tablets of STONE; while Moses himself wrote the other hosts of laws on a less durable material. The reason is obvious. I shouldn't need to explain it. There's a reason why the two tablets were placed INSIDE the ark of the covenant; while the book of the law was placed next to the ark of the covenant. They could add to the book, but not to the tablets. Most christians intend to blot out a commandment written by the finger of God. The Lord will hold each one accountable.
Most christians only believe in keeping 9 of the 10. That doesn't even sound right.
Just to add, the 10 commandments was written 2x by God himself on a tablet of stone , not once.... must be really important.

The bible is pretty clear in what Christ meant when we look at all of scripture. I guess Allen hasn't realise that those 2 commandments are the same law of the 10 commandments (Luke 10:26,27) Notice that Christ asked "what is written in the law?" The scribe answered him correctly because that is just what the law represents, love for God (first four, Deut. 6:5) and love for your neighbor (last six, Lev. 19:18).

The Holy Spirit was not of permanent dwelling in the elected of the Old Testament, hence the need for repeated sacrifices and following of all the laws. The Holy Spirit was permanent in the dwelling of Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, hence his perfection. Our acceptance of Jesus' blessed and sanctified BLOOD sacrifice is what allows the Holy Spirit to dwell within us permanently of which saves, sanctifies, and seals our souls until the day of redemption, this the gift of Grace that we can never lose. With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us we are filled with love and joy by having a willingness to abide in Jesus' love but also reminded by it each time we do sin and thus why we feel a sense of guilt when do sin after being saved.
The thief on the cross was saved in knowing this. He simply believed/repented in/towards Jesus in his heart, and Jesus himself told the man at that moment that he(the thief) would join him(Jesus) in Paradise that day. The distinction in scripture is very clear, that only those created in God's image can have salvation through Jesus Christ by believing in his completed work the Father's commandments, blood sacrifice as the Lamb of God and death, burial, and resurrection. I found out that Roman Catholics, Judaism and SDA all believe this. As believers and followers of Christ, we know that He resurrected on the first day of the week (Sunday) and the sabbath was never changed to Sunday.

Secondly, stating that it encompasses more than the ten commandments does not logically abrogate you of your responsibility to obey the ten commandments in their entirety and actually perform what they require, Its called obedience.
Thirdly, stating that it is used to try instil fear is a false witness and is an underhanded move, that is not what they are intending to do. To affirm the importance of the 4th commandment is no more fearmongering than it is to affirm the validity of any of the other 9 which you would do, so the assertion is patently absurd on its face.

Since Adam and Eve, our human flesh on this Earth is cursed with sin, and in no way can we keep all of the commandments of God to a T (only Jesus could, and only he did). We see who God is, in the Old Testament, we see how Holy he is. His commandments show us his perfection, and in turn reveals our imperfections, our fallen sinful nature in which we are need of a savior of who could fulfill the law in our place, out of love for us. For God so loved the world that he sent his one and only Son that for whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The Holy Spirit was not of permanent dwelling in the elected of the Old Testament, hence the need for repeated sacrifices and following of all the laws. The Holy Spirit was permanent in the dwelling of Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, hence his perfection. Our acceptance of Jesus' blessed and sanctified BLOOD sacrifice is what allows the Holy Spirit to dwell within us permanently of which saves, sanctifies, and seals our souls until the day of redemption, this the gift of Grace that we can never lose. The thief on the cross was saved in knowing this. He simply believed/repented in/towards Jesus in his heart, and Jesus himself told the man at that moment that he(the thief) would join him(Jesus) in Paradise that day. And don't say the thief had no time to accomplish the law so it doesn't count, you take away from the meaning of the undeserving gift of grace and the purpose of this event in scripture.

The distinction in scripture is very clear, that only those created in God's image can have salvation through Jesus Christ by believing in his completed work the Father's commandments, blood sacrifice as the Lamb of God and death, burial, and resurrection. Satan and fallen angels don't get the chance for salvation, their fate is sealed, they believe because they know HE IS. Using this passage as a crutch that believing is not enough takes away from the completed work of Jesus Christ.

They had like 7 different Sabbaths at the time. You have to read the Bible in its full entirety and not just pull verses because if you read all of in Hebrews he clearly says their remains a seventh day Sabbath for God’s people. And all throughout acts, Romans, Hebrews we see Paul going to church every Sabbath repeatedly over and over. My understanding is we observe Friday sunset to sabbath sunset because of the order of creation “then there was evening , and there was morning, one day”.
For me, an ideal way to observe the sabbath would be doing volunteer work or visiting the sick, just how Jesus healed people on the sabbath, I think he showed the true spirit of the laws throughout his ministry. I also love going out in nature and meditating on the word while spending time with the Creator Himself and just spending time with my family relaxing.

Bottom line, it’s not “did” I do x, y or z....rather it’s “do” I want to do x, y or z. One extreme is to say we’re “externally” earning our salvation and another extreme is to say we’re “no longer” required to keep the law. Sir, actually it is we who claim that we know Him and don't keep His commandments. We the adventist are liar. The 10 commandments teach us "don't do" as EGW says its our schoolmaster, mentioned in Galatians, but the commandments that teach us "do" are 9 fruits of the Spirit which comes through Holy Spirit when we look, believe and accept the promise. Even dead body keeps 10 commandments.
What is the promise? The great sacrifice and resurrection and His victory over sin. That is why Galatians say, the law including 10 commandments leads to have a covenant relationship with God as that of slave, but with promise to that of a son.
The commandments that says "do", the list is end less. That's y john says john 21:25 "...things which Jesus did...if they should be written...even the world itself could not contain the books..." That's the reason why He shrink it to 10 and 2. Only Holy Spirit can teach us.

Jesus meant exactly what He said. Most people have a superficial relationship with Jesus; mere acquaintence. Even Peter refused twice to express love, but proposed friendship with Jesus (agapao true love was what Jesus wanted, but only received filio friendship) in John 21:15-17.
Half-hearted love is not love, and knowing, honouring, and loving Jesus is a mandatory condition for getting to Heaven.
If you don't keep Jesus' commandments, you are doing sin. If you repeatedly do sin, or do it on purpose, then you do chronic sin, which is iniquity. Iniquity will send you to the lake of fire, as described in Mat 7:21-27, Luke 13:27, 1 John 2:3-6, 1 John 3:6, 24; 5:2-3; 2 John 1:9-10, and Ecc 12:13.
The Bible warns you to avoid people who have false teachings such as "you can do as you please as Jesus forgives all sins", and the false teaching "the law was done away with when it was nailed to Jesus' cross", and many similar false teachings. If you read Scripture for what it says and without any interpretations of any kind, it's clear and speaks for itself. But many people twist it up to fit their beliefs.

@@stephenlechuga1124 when ever there appears to be a contradiction, most likely the problem is an understanding issue, probably from reading into it a point of view that you were taught. This often causes people to twist other parts of Scripture to fit their beliefs instead of keeping an open mind and let Scripture speak for itself. Sometimes it's a translation problem or error. For example of an error, when Yeshua told the thief on the cross, I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. Yeshua didn't go to the Father until after three days and we know that because He told Mary that. So did He lie to the thief? Not if you put the coma after the word today. Now it reads, today I tell you. The placement of the coma changes everything. It's my understanding that the original language doesn't use comas so it's a translator error. There are a few things I don't understand yet such as events after the second coming. I do know though that there is no pretrib rapture. Postrib lines up with the rest of Scripture.

2 things I got from this:
1. So it’s not ok to keep the 10 commandments, rather look into the condition of your heart, which in turn will actually cause you to, in a more deeper sense, keep the 10 commandments..... minus 1 of the commandments. That’s problematic.
2. And, satan is powerful enough to tempt us to sin but God is not powerful enough to keep us from falling. Another problem. No faith in God’s power.

Also, why they are no longer in service for the christian now, and why this is seperate from the commands given on the tablets of stone which Satan hates? Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
From this verse we see why Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath, by believing in Christ means that you have observed the sabbath as you'll enter into His rest as God did rest on the seventh day. You'll have rest from your works of justifying yourself through worshiping on a Saturday.
So do you only receive the rest Jesus gives on a Saturday? The Sabbath rest was a shadow of what was to come. I rest in Jesus every day even if I'm at work or cooking a meal.
I think the main idea here isn't to discourage us from obeying the Ten Commandments, but to understand the relationship between salvation & keeping them.

So, when you teach people that the Law is old convenant and do not apply to us today, you teach or encourage disobedience to God's Commandments. They are "Commandments" not suggestions that we have a choice of obeying or not like as I've heard you teach. When we disobey, we will get the reward of disobedience at the Lord's second coming.

The Holy Spirit was not of permanent dwelling in the elected of the Old Testament, hence the need for repeated sacrifices and following of all the laws. The Holy Spirit was permanent in the dwelling of Jesus as the only begotten Son of God, hence his perfection. Our acceptance of Jesus' blessed and sanctified BLOOD sacrifice is what allows the Holy Spirit to dwell within us permanently of which saves, sanctifies, and seals our souls until the day of redemption, this the gift of Grace that we can never lose. The thief on the cross was saved in knowing this. And don't say the thief had no time to accomplish the law so it doesn't count, you take away from the meaning of the undeserving gift of grace and the purpose of this event in scripture.

Sometimes, many of us Christian's don't realize that we only love Jesus Christ to a certain extent. Once we begin to understand or unravel the deep things that Jesus taught, I would assume many of us won't even follow Him. We exemplify onesidedness such as hope, love, compassion, kindness, etc. Yes, that's all great but there is also the other side, which is often not mentioned and that is Jesus calling out our sins, surrendering our own selfish thoughts, beliefs,, practices, and desires, etc. It seems like many Christian's today lean more of the "good side of Jesus" but not often on the side of correcting our lives, keeping His Laws, and total obedience to the word of God. Think on these things, my brethrens.
Another thing to think about. Let's just say that my wife gives me a list of what she defines what love is to her. Should I then follow the way she expressed it or should I then go ahead express my own way? Of course, by default, we would choose to follow what our wive's told us on that list because she is specific. Otherwise, it won't be considered love to her. Now, shouldn't we do the same for God? He told us, "If you love Me, keep my commandments."

When the Lord and the scripture speaks of writing the law upon people’s hearts, He meant by the Holy Spirit, deeply creating a merciful and tender heart the so loves God and his fellow man, so as to never want to do the slightest harm to any human being that Gods name and glory should be diminished. The pages of the New Testament are full of Sabbath keepers that never understood what God meant and did unimaginable evil to Christ, the apostles and the church, *thinking they were doing God a service!*

I have been watching your videos for a few years now and appreciate them. However, I was taken aback by the recent 3-part series of videos focusing on the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. I feel like Bible study shouldn’t be about finding ammunition to make someone guilty, or shaming someone on the other side of a disagreement. Having gone through the 28 fundamental beliefs of Seventh-day Adventist, I did not see how that differs from the beliefs of Evangelical Christians. I understand a difference when it comes to the day of worship i.e. the Sabbath (Saturday) vs Sunday. However, I can not see in the Scripture how Sunday is the day of worship. From the symmetric structure of the creation story, the Sabbath (seventh day) stands out as the goal of creation (Genesis 2:1-3). To emphasize the importance of the seventh day in the creation story, we find, seven days of creation, seven announcements that creation is “good.” There are seven Hebrew words in the opening verse, and then two-times-seven Hebrew words in verse 2. The statement about the seventh day has three lines of seven words. We also see that one of the functions of the sun, moon, and stars were to be a sign for appointed feasts (Genesis 1:14). When you read the entire Leviticus 23, we see the Sabbath as the first of the 7th appointed feasts. Throughout the rest of the Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, we see the Sabbath. We may not agree with the SDA on how they regard Ellen G. White but that’s just 1 out of 28 beliefs. There are scriptural references to support everything they believe. I feel to be fair, you should do a review of their entire 28 fundamental beliefs rather than cherry pick one or two to put down an entire denomination. We can find fault with every single Christian domination but I feel that shouldn’t be our goal as Christians. We should be winning the rest of the world than fighting amongst ourselves. When our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comes, He will be taking everyone of us home. We all know we are saved by grace through faith and not by works. SDAs belief this as well. I also feel we are Christians look down on the Pharisees and regard them as the bad guys which I have a problem with. Jesus Christ main criticism of the Pharisees was their hypocrisy. Apart from that, they were devoted to the Scripture. I understand in their zeal to walk in the ways of The Father, they added traditions that made the law a burden rather than a delight. In my opinion, we as Christians do not have half the devotion to the Scripture the Pharisees had.

Being saved by grace not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9), means that we don't deserve to be saved no matter how righteously we try to live or think we are living. We ought to do what is right (the Bible uses the words "should", "ought", etc. when talking about trying to live right). None of us live right as we are all under sin; there is none good but God. We are saved by God's grace through our faith in Christ's precious blood ALONE. When you trust Christ as your savior, you are saved and can never lose it. I am all for good works and God wants us to be too, but if we choose not to do those good works, that doesn't mean that we are going to Hell. You simply cannot be saved by grace if you have to have some element of righteous works to be saved.
We should love him, and be obedient to him if we love him or at least try.

(3) So, with that said, followers of God obey Him (obey the 10 Commandments for example) because of their love for Him. Why keeping the commandments matter:
It’s simple, Jesus says: “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” John 14:15, 21, 15:10; 1 John 2:6
So then, it’s because we are saved by grace through faith and are now captivated by His love and have become desirous to do those things which are pleasing in His sight! Keeping His commandments, of which He gave us two (Matt. 22:37-40), is the evidence by which we are able to distinguish between those who truly know Him and those who know Him not:
“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. Upon inquiring what good thing he must do to inherent eternal life, Jesus admonishes the rich young ruler of what he must do by telling Him to keep the commandments. The rich young ruler asks: “Which ones?”- Matthew 19:18
Here Jesus could have quoted from any one of the many laws given to Moses upon Sinai that God instructed Moses to write in a book, which is called the Book of the Covenant; but instead He quotes from the Tablets of the Covenant, or the Ten Commandments, which was written with the finger of God on stone. Lastly, as if to summarize, He skips the tenth commandment that deals with covetousness and simply states what is called His Second Greatest Commandment: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”-Matthew 19:18
This tells us a few things: (1) That In the mind of Jesus the two Greatest Commandments were interchangeable with the Ten Commandments. You will never find His two Greatest Commandments linked to any of the ceremonial laws (The seven feasts days, the five or so offerings, the sanctuary or its rituals). (2) if they are indeed interchangeable, then that must mean to refer to one is also to refer to the other by virtue of their being interchangeable. If the Bible says “Keep His commandments” in some places, these places would not be talking JUST about His two Greatest Commandments; much rather, they would be talking about both His two Greatest Commandments and their counterpart, the Ten Commandments.
Jesus’s Two Commandments go hand in hand with the Ten Commandments, or you might say, they summarize them. If His Second Greatest Commandment is a summary of the last six of the Ten Commandments, wouldn’t His First Greatest Commandment also be a summary but of the first four of the Ten Commandments? It’s interesting that He orders them that way! The First Greatest Commandment summarizes the last four of the Ten Commandments that deal with how we love God; The Second Greatest Commandment summarizes the last six of the Ten Commandments that deal with how we love our neighbor as ourselves!
After reaffirming the words of Jesus found in Matthew 5:19 by saying: “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.”, James testifies that what He calls “the royal law” will be the standard of Judgment on the Day of Judgment and as such he admonishes that we: “So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.” James 2:8-13
Of this Law James states: “he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:25
Something else this verse found in James tells us is that the two Greatest Commandments were not only summaries of the Ten Commandments in the mind of Jesus, but even James thought so! Notice how he interchangeably uses the “royal law” which he associates with: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” with the Ten Commandments by quoting two of them: “For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” - James 2:8, 11
Notice how even Paul understood the two Greatest Commandments to be summaries of the Ten Commandments: “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” - Rom. 13:8-10
The word for fulfilled is the word “πληρόω” it does NOT mean to do away with, or to disregard. It means to “carry out,” to “make full,” “to accomplish.” - see Strongs, Thayers, and Mounces concordance.
So when Paul says in verse ten: “love is the fulfillment of the law.”, does he actually mean that “love is the doing away of the law”, or does he mean “love is the ‘making full’ ‘carrying out’ ‘accomplishing’ of the law”?
Of this Law Jesus states: “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:19
After explaining the failures of the Law for justification (Rom. 8:3), Paul offers the reason why Jesus condemned sin in the flesh by saying: “…that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”- v. 4
Notice what It was not for: “so that we could keep breaking the law and live a life of repetitive sin.” - 1 Demons 6:66
*So what laws were Paul talking about when he says*:
“having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, *the law of commandments contained in ordinances*, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,”
“*having wiped out the handwriting of ordinances* that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. … So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a feast day or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ”
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in *the book of the law*, to do them.””
“Therefore, if perfection were through *the Levitical priesthood* (for under it the people received the law), … For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. … for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.” Ephesians 2:15; Colossians 2:14, 16; Galatians 3:10; Heb. 7:11-12, 19
*Let’s summarize the descriptions Paul detailed in various letters about this law*:
(1) These commandments were contained in something called “ordinances” (Δικαίωμα, δόγμα).
(2) These were “hand written” and were “ordinances” (δικαίωμα, δόγμα). They contained “food and drink (offerings)” “feast days,” “new moons,” and “sabbaths.” These were “shadows” pointing forward to Christ and His ministry.
(3) This law involved Circumcision and is called “the book of the Law”
(4) This law was given under the “levitical priesthood” and had to do with sacrifices and offerings.
If we understand the important fact that within Gen-Deut is contained two different Laws and is itself not the Law Moses received, then we will understand the difference between the Tablets of the Covenant and the Book of the Covenant. Gen-Deut is merely a record of the events that lead up to and were subsequent to the receiving of these two different laws at Sinai.

was ratified-ratified because: Gen. 26:5- 430 years after the promises made to Abraham at Sinai (Gal. 3:17),

Pastor I’m praying for you I know that ministry has been a blessing to so many including myself but I have to disagree with you on the sabbath and the commandments.We are to be judge by the royal law according to James,and if you read what he calls the royal law he is referring to the commandments.James 2:8-12

@@EricSaavy Tavares is talking about keeping the royal law spoken by God at Mount Sinai and if you break one Commandment you break them all... What do you mean that the SDA don't see it??? I'm not a SDA but looking at all sides.
Mind you the the 4th commandment tell you to "REMEMBER the sabbath day" its so clear that we've been observing Sunday or not observing at all to the point where we FORGOT. One of the only commands were he tells us to REMEMBER.
The thing is: some people assume that we're "forgetting" about the Sabbath day. That's not it. What we are trying to explain, as Allen stated over and over, is that the Sabbath was given TO Israelites, NOT us today. Ezekiel 20:12 says, "I (Lord) gave them (Israelites) my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy." The sign was between the Lord and the Israelites. We did not "forget" about that. We understood that it was made for Israelites only. Jesus already did all the works (OT) for us so that we are not under OT's law but under His grace. It's pretty rather odd that some people don't understand that (either that or they do not want to).

So the disciples were keeping the sabbath after Jesus's death and went out and taught gentiles not to?
@@phogetta1 That's a very good question, Phogetta. I just want to be clear: I have no problem with people worshipping or keep Sabbath day on Saturday or whatsoever suit them the best. They're free to do so (see Romans 14:5) and we are to respect each other. The major "issue" I'm having problem is how SDA links "Sabbath" and "Salvation" together as a requirement, which is NOT biblical. There's a fine-line between that. Freedom=okay, requirement=no. And as for Jews/gentile whether to obey, I think Gotquestions.ORG answered it perfectly:

@@larryclay8875 acts 15 was for the new converts. Yes those were the immediate laws they had to follow while being new without being overwhelmed. But u can see that they learned on the sabbath and were expected to learn more. Those weren't the only laws they had to follow.
@@larryclay8875 also what about the rest of the commandments. Not coveting, adultery etc. Why weren't the gentiles told that if acts 15 is all they had to follow?
