Wow, thank you very much for this! My 300SE would crank but not start when cold unless I used starter fluid. I cracked two of the injector lines and like magic it actually (nearly) starts up. Thanks for the guidance I would have been completely lost on this car without this video

I would love it if you could make this again, but have a step by step description. First this, then this, then this, then this. Perhaps use an example? It's a little hard to know where to start from this. I have one that I can eventually get started, but it takes lots of cranks. Thanks.

Thanks Pierre. I have a 190e 2.0 (I'm based on the UK) and while it starts when cold, when the weather is really cold it can sometimes stall. The idle is not raised when cold, so I suspect the auxiliary air valve (no idle control valve) maybe stuck closed or open as I had to adjust the warm idle down. Am I on the right track?

    Great information!
When the car has warm starting problems, I heard that the fuel pressure accumulator could be bad, also the check valves on the fuel pumps, is that true?
    Thank you!

$288 - I paid for a NEW Bosch EHA Valve (03/22). The old was leaking, however it could have been the gaskets behind EHA ($4.00 fix). I would check this first before you invest in a new one.

If it was just leaking from the EHA, the cold start issue (especially when diagnosed as Pierre mentioned) would not materialize.

Hi, thank you for your work.
How long is too long for a KE Jetronic to start?
There ar opinions between 2-4 seconds of cranking.
    Thank's again.

Once again, the exact information I needed, just when I needed it!
Outstanding video, very enlightening & I can see why many would gulp the red herring of ignition problems and I'm super glad you saved me the headaches.

Many thanks Pierre. I had stating issues with my 190e 2.6 a few years ago and bought a brand new OVP relay from the dealers as one of my many attempts to rectify the problem. Checked the relays and lots of testing with my multi meter and traced the issue back to a loose cable inside a connecting socket which comes out of the back of the Alarm/siren which in my case fed the fuel pump relay. Fixed the wire and the car fired straight up. Knowing that the OVP relays can fail after some years, I left the new part installed as a preventative measure.

Be careful of a lawsuit for slander or defamation of character. Just saying.
