My niece really likes Troom Troom. I watched some of the videos with her and thought, "Some of these pranks are really inconsiderate. It's not good to think that any of these is a fun way to mess with them." I've told her during some of them that someone could get hurt or humiliated if that happened to them. She still thought they were hilarious, and I'm kind of worried.

I can't believe this video is over one year old and only 17k people have seen it.
This topic interests me and confuses the hell out of me. You helped me understand it a little bit, like with all the other weird popular things on youtube the answer is simple - kids are watching these. But I'm still confused - are children really interested in instructions on things related to household and cleaning and cooking? Those sound more like chores than entertainment. I still think there's got to be way more adults watching these.

Once UA-cam admits it's responsible for this, they are forever responsible for it.

First of all: didn't knew of your diy side 😱 as we say here in Italy "now we see the little altars" 😂😂 anyway your rug might works well 👍
Jokes apart (and thanks for passing-by sometimes) have you seen the video by William Osman a couple of weeks ago? Following this diy-mania he debunked a hot-glue-gun made with some turns of nichrome steel and supposed to be connected DIRECTLY into home-power (indeed William showed how dangerous it is with 110VAC, except that was showed as working in a EU/Ukrainian flavour, so with a 220/230VAC home supply...)
Other than that, I think I will share this video in our Italian group of youtube creators talking about the platform, because it has some interesting points 👍

The rise of content farms can be traced to glitterforever17. Shes just a quirky, artistic southern girl who found success with her DIY videos shortly before these content farms popped up. Everything from the sets, to the editing, somewhat strange/questionable tutorials that you couldnt look away from, the editing all the way down to brelands mannerisms were copied by these content farms and other creators. Breland found success because, for a brief point in time, nobody else was doing what she was doing. Her style quickly established a new category of tutorial videos that was quickly imitated by hundreds, maybe thousands, of other channels. These channels all established themselves and were able to evolve at a point where glitterforever17 got lost in the sea of fresh faces. You can compare the dates on her videos to these content farms video dates. There are alot of things breland was doing first and the dates will validate that. These content farms are a compete rip off of brelands artistry and to be honest, apart from still following brelands model, they havent really evolved much as channels. They are still following brelands model while shes trying to pickup the pieces

I don't think this kind of thing is new. When I was a kid there was this book called "The Anarchist's cookbook". I read it at an age that I was probably very susceptible to following ideas. For a bit of context here, growing up my parents always worked around movies and never censored me from anything. Quite the opposite, I grew up with open instant access to all kinds of media and was never "watched over". I've never built a bomb or anything, I've done things that people do, but didn't grow up to be horrible. I'm not where I want to be, but at least I'm not vindictive nor ever felt compelled towards anything of that nature. But I did grow up on horror movies. Those were my Mom's favorites. The one thing she did drill into me that still echoes to this day was that "What's on the screen is not reality". And that I think allowed me to think critically at a younger age than if I were censored. That being said, if that were not the case I may have read that book and used some components for whatever reason. I can only speak about myself on this one.

Probably stressed. I wasn't just homeless but so was my elderly mom and I called in every favor to keep her from sleeping out in the cold. Many of my friends still party hard. We didn't eat every day but I ended up drunk or something daily. Finally got her in an assisted home until well... She's terminal with cancer now. She's in hospice. It's still tough but I managed to get back on my feet. Nowhere near where I grew up but that's good. There's no work where we were living. Sorry. I'm having a hard seltzer. My boss is an alcoholic and she was trashed when I came in to work. She even forgot her just opened beer. For some reason, it got me in the mood so picked up some on the way home. Now I'm drinking and writing you a way too long comment. Lol. I hope your well. Thanks for the reply, I love getting replies to comments from years ago. Well, the problem with UA-cam is that it is kind of blurs the lines between reality and fantasy. They cannot understand what type of content can be applicable to reality and what types of content are not. Although of course common sense can still put a "break" on trying something that seems dangerous, but it depends on the child and how the family educated them about the dangers of specific tools and/or situations. Also the difference is that there is time based programming in TV, which usually puts family friendly show in the morning till night and after the typical bedtime(usually 9 in the night) will put more mature shows, and what constitutes "family friendly" is mandated by government and/or non government agencies as a law, while UA-cam algorithm is really "survival of the fittest", and here the "fittest" is clickbait, deception, and garbage content that can put children that do not understand the risks of replicating the "DIY" in serious danger

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the evil in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love.
Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
. The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom.
If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. It's not about following the law - perfectly, as it's impossible - it's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction).
He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place.
He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it.
He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and ask Him to help us in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way.
NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER xx
