In this episode, Capt. Bradford and I install a #Recaro #RS-G in my #S2000 to find out if it's worth $2000 on a sports car that you drive spiritedly to enjoy, but aren't necessarily planning to take to the track. This is basically a #review of the RS-G, but our conclusions apply to bucket seats in a street car in general.

when i still had my S13 the bucket seat was the most impactful mod besides the tires. it really connects you to the car instead of your ass sliding everywhere when hanging a turn. i would also recommend getting a detachable steering wheel to make it easier to get in and out of the bucket seat though.

Hey Albo, I have a FXT same color as yours with some really nice mods....Im still working on getting an S2000 tho. That Forester tho.....thats something special there.
Gonna get a bucket seat now! I really had the Bunta mentality of not needing a bucket seat, but my back is suffering the price now on top of it already being bad from when I used to perform with my band LOL.
This is just what i had in mind... Dunno if you planning to get an aftermarket sterring wheel @albo but if you do would recommend getting a work bell. Just so that you could sit comfortably with them recaro seat with ease without kneeing the steering wheel going in or out of the car.
Glad my stock seats are already Recaro on the DC5 Integra Type-R

Your softtop has the same problem as mine. Since we both have a glass rear window and AP1 was not designed for that top. It will not sit flush when folded down, but it is raised just a bit. Look at 7:10 for example.

Have you tried the new RMS 2700g? Can you do a comparison between this 2 bucket seats as I am considering which one should I get
Treat and clean your new soft top with 303 Convertible Cleaner and Fabric Guard good stuff!
I have both, but found out the fabric guard isn't appropriate for this replacement top's material or the OEM one. The cleaner works great, especially if you use a light brush.
Captain should go for the EG6. Such a classic JDM car of the 90's. Btw how much are they at the moment? Could you give a price range? I like the way the Captain geets out of the seat w/o treat the side.
I know its been almost a year but the cheapest Manual EG6 with 1.6l engine and 178000km on the clock goes for 178万円 at the moment which is ~$15500 US which includes shaken and inspection. Lower kilometers and better quality ones go in the 20k some even over 25k
Damn man that seat fits perfect. Looks sick, but definitely not fat guy friendly. Makes me want to make a new years resolution with that seat being a goal.

Hey Albo i have spent almost 2 decades working for a mechanic. In answer to your question for a older car yes a seat like that is worth it. That is if you are going to track it, new vehicles not so much. For example my new Stinger seats are magic in terms of being able to almost replicate a racing seat. You can go the whole hogg in 1 if you want but a Stinger is not a track car. For older Jdm cars of course mate its a no-brainer specially if you drifting them locking yourself properly in a seat is everything. Wait until you hit my age mate and you will most likely change the seat again hahahahah.
Now time to make your own computer chair with your old car seat!

i've talked to people about getting a bucket seat for my FC and i've heard "you don't corner hard enough for that" or like "you shouldn't daily buckets" and i just sit here thinking about how every day im cornering hard enough to brace myself

There wasn’t any leg support for you unfortunately which means you’ll constantly be holding your legs up while touching the pedals. The seat should be slightly tilted backwards so the support holds your thighs.

Racing buckets are definitely worth it if your planning on doing any kind of spirited driving, it definitely gives you more confidence and also peace of mind knowing that your a little bit safer. Also I know this is off topic but can you get a working visa as a filmmaker/videographer/ editor to live in Japan? Are there any companies that would help with that or would you just have to try and figure it all out on your own, I know things are easier for other countries but super hard for people from the US. Any help would be appreciated, love the videos!
330mm steering wheel will help with getting in and out... your leg won’t keep hitting the steering wheel
