  • On my way back from a visit to Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. My LCP are 2.9, which is just above normal. It seems to move a bit. It's the second month in a row it's gone up, so if it remains consistent and goes up again, they will be increasing the dosage. I'm focused on keeping my intake just where it is. We'll see.
On another note, we have other life challenges just like everyone else, yet because of my journey with amyloidosis, my perspective on the "challenges" is so different than it was in the past.
For me, just an opportunity to be "in the game" makes me grateful - and when you're grateful, the world is a better place.

Hi Dan, Thank you for sharing this journey. I have AL Amy -kidney, nerve, GI and bone involvement along with Multiple Myeloma. I am going in to Tufts medical under Dr. Comenzo for SCT in a couple weeks. Wishing you and your family much love, peace, and strength. Keep the faith!!! ...your tenacity, strength and positive outlook are amazing and inspirational. Thank you and God Bless! I was diagnosed after getting a needle prick form a homeless person while in New Orleans last October '18, and after prophylactic treatment my kidneys started to tank so was encouraged to have a kidney biopsy and after contemplating whether to do that, finally agreed I would, hence the diagnosis. Had I not gotten the needle prick my story might have been totally different, as I had neuropathy and wasn't able to exercise like previously, but attributed that to age, drugs due to needle, etc.
I got my diagnoses late April and have just finished up 4 months chemo and getting ready to do SCT now.

Hey Dan, my wife and I have been following you. Sherry was diagnosed November 2018 and it has been a hell of a ride so far. Minimal cardiac involvement but the kidneys are gone. We found out today that it was back after 8 months of remission. You are an inspiration too us. Good luck and may god be with us all.

Glad to see you doing better. I’m the same way. I was near death but now I’m doing good. My family said I’m a meeker person since I got sick...lol. I guess near death will do it to you. Keep videoing so I can keep up.

Wow, congratulations... and I'm with you. I call it more "relaxed or chill" than meek. 😂 I understand though. I sure look at thing different now.

Hi Dan, you mentioned that you do visualization and positive mind set, but I'm wondering if you have come across with the work of Dr Joe Despenza aprouch. Do you practice meditation! Have you read any of his book's. Please let me know if you have! Thanks

Wonderful attitude. God bless you and your family! I lost my husband two months ago to Cardio Amyloidosis, within three months of diagnosis. Didn't even know what that word was.

I'm so sorry Maria. Thank you. So, sorry about your husband. Yes, I hear that story often and it really makes me take a step back. It could have been me. I was lucky I kept searching, as my local experts said I was OK.

Love your great attitude and positivity. I have just hit my 2 year anniversary of being diagnosed with amyloidosis. They gave me 24 hours to live because of my kidney failure. I refused to believe my team of doctors. I hadn't been diagnosed yet. I still feel great. I'm weak and get tired easily, but if I have a coffee I 'm good for a few hours. Stay strong and don't give up. Have a great day everyone!
