I don't think there is a song out there anywhere that k.d. lang can't sing. Her voice is a gift from the Heaven's for all the world to listen to.
I was part of the chorus singing with her. One of the month amazing experiences of my life. It was her birthday and I will never forget her reaction when we surprised her by singing Happy Birthday. I still get choked up listening to this.

KD's voice...always gives me chills. No matter what she sings. With this song, I started crying because it's so beautiful and so appropriate for the setting.

Her voice is by far my favorite version of this song. Of all the versions I've heard, only K.D. Lang can make the song hit so deeply for me and bring all the soothing magic and message of the lyrics soak in. Her voice brings the lyrics alive like no other.
Elvis' blows ALL versions of this song away....he does the lyrics with more emotional range than this one, though K.D's is good.

I was a volunteer and saw KD Lang sing this song at the Opening Ceremony and the look on her face when the orchestra struck Happy Birthday after she finished this song.
My pleasure. I first heard this when my ex and I were looking for this version 5 or so years ago. He is in the Salt Lake Men's Choir and had the opportunity to go with them to the Games in Sydney and sing with her along with all the other choirs. I used to always hear from them how amazing an experience it was for them. This has definitely been my favorite version of the song since I first heard it. By far the most moving and touching to me.
My class chose this as our graduation song in 1958. We performed it at graduation but no way near as beautifully as you can. Love you!!!
