That's messed up, he was a genocide and a parricide, just because he asked them to spare Sasuke does not make him a good character. Sadly all that is alter trivialized and the tailed beasts mean almost nothing in terms of individual power anymore by the end of the show.

@@accountnew7030how is it flawed, his plan is literally nuclear bombs, if all the major nations have it, the threat of the destruction it would cause peace based on the fear brought about it. If they use it anyways the survivors went through the same having empathy with each other regardless of differences, if they keep the bombs anyways after all the destruction the government and the people would feel separate and against each other until they are overthrown and will lead to a bigger period of peace. It’s a much better plan than letting things staying as is and having wars every 3 or 5 years.

Yeah, pain’s vision is hard to 100% reject because it’s kind of realistic. Pessimist but realistic. Because in the end, the tailed beast weapon is like the nuclear bomb in out world : dissuasion weapon, and countries (like villages in naruto) are afraid of its use so diplomacy to avoid it and if one day it’s used again, so much terror again and everyone would try to stop it from be used again (another temporary peace)
But you could say pain has a good final objective but a bad way to achieve it. Naruto is idealistic and dream of a better world. 2 visions of the world and humans that can be understood,incredible script in that arc.
NO SPOILERS HERE RON: Just some thoughts about Pain's Speech.
Pain's ideologies are feasible, they are reasonable things to do. Pain isnt contradicting himself when he starts referring to himself as "an ordinary Man" (he's dropping his pretense of beeing a "God" to truly have a heart-to-heart conversation with naruto as fellow disciples because he truly wants Naruto to understand his motives and see things from his perspectives). Actually nagato means That Pain is a god, while him a Man. We as the audience generally or all of Us side with Naruto and the hidden leaf because they're the "main characters" of the story. But Pain is "GIVING VOICE" to others here in the world that also suffer.
I totally agree when Pain says "Humans are not the most intelligent creatures", due to the fact that we're essently a virus on the planet because we literatelly destroy other species and the environment of our planet, so That's right, biologically speaking Pain is more than 100% correct.
On the other hand, From our perspective (human perspective) Pain is mad because he wants to Destroy nations and people? ( but That's The same thing the Leaf has done and Big countries do today in our real world as well, How Can You possibly deny That?
Why is it ONLY Fair And OK for the hidden Leaf to have peace and justice when everybody else in The world also suffer Pain??

Pain is calling out the hipocrisy Naruto and The Leaf are trying to justify themselves (That part When pain talked to Tsunade, he said "Your peace has Only brought violence upon us all" That's what he means, That they (The Leaf) are hypocrites, which is true indeed.
Pain's Idea for achieving peace is MAD (mutually assured destruction), which is the same system thats in place in OUR REAL WORLD today to deter nuclear War. He wants a world where M.A.D will keep the peace for a while and when it breaks, when people use tail beasts, they"ll experience pain again, and That pain will force them to Go back to the period of peace. This will continue over and over, that pain will keep humanities violent Nature in check, allowing peace to exist. You can definitely disagree with Pain's ideias of achieving peace because they're Pretty extreme from our perspective, however with his speech You Just can't, because he's spitting Facts here. Pain's character is a masterpiece completely, he's a character Very grounded in realism. An Epic Villain. For me he's One of The Best Creations in all fiction honestly, this Arc here is The Most Epic from kishimoto. Everything about Pain's character is so well done. He's so sick dude. He gave The Best Arc to The Entire series, this masterpiece right here.

yeah dude, the solution is not just a white/black answer. That is why this arc isn't just my personal favorite in the show, but to a lot of people too. Specially because we all know where Nagato and them come from. Pain is just written different. 🔥👌

Pain is basically trying to establish post WW2 nuclear deterrance with the bijuu being used as atom bombs. And then asking Naruto to solve the cold war😅

This is why the Pain arc is so good. You understand Pain, you understand what Nagato has gone through. Its something real, we experience it every day with the ongoing wars that are purely tit-for-tat, one side hates another because the other side attacked them for a myriad of reasons, they hate each other, they want what the other country has, whatever. But that hatred endures, and it takes something truly miraculous to end that cycle of hatred.
That is what Naruto needs to find the answer to.
And in terms of how many episodes are left, this isn't a spoiler but I'm sure you guys know that there are a LOT of filler episodes. Out of the 500 episodes of Shippuden, like about 200 of them are either complete filler or partial filler episodes. Some are one or two episodes here and there, but sometimes there are full filler arcs of like 10 or even 20 episodes. You're coming up on a long filler arc here soon btw.
Pain is One of The Best villains Ever, his Whole bulid-up and concept is dope as shit, he gave Naruto The Best Arc, this Arc The Epic Goated Pain Arc. One of The Best in Anime for sure. Easily top 5 Imo.

Fun fact, I found a lot of similarities between pain's peace and today's peace in a post nuclear weapons world. The nuclear bombs being similar to controlling all the tail beast

part of the reason pain and itachi are so memorable is because their speeches actually make your brain turn on. Itachi lliterally states everyone lives within their own version of their truth which is their perspective and Pain's speech is everyone has their own view on justice and morals. Both are probably some of the best written antagonists in any series
I think the main reason for you not remembering the character's names and plots is that you are watching 10 animes at once to get max audience and money. But that's a very wrong way to watch things atleast acc. to my perspective
Pain was stronger than sage Naruto here , those who don't see That are Fan Boys, especially Tendo had to be nerfed for Naruto to take him on. Without losing Most of his Powers With The Large Great Shinra Tensei, Pain would Get Naruto here cuz if nerfed he Stood Up against The Six Tails, Imagine What he would Do wish Most of his Power? like you mention, this is the perfect arc for naruto's build up story in general. Most fans believe this is where Naruto should have ended.
spoiler: The manga industry forces the creators to continue/extend their work. In future arcs you'll see Kishimoto, the creator, starts including elements that don't seem to fit in the story in general, and it is because kihismoto already wanted to create a different story, and when he did, you can easly identify the similarities with elements in the last arcs of naruto.
Personally I love watching this series of you two watching Naruto for the first time because I’ve seen the series like 30+ times already. Watching you guys react to it reminds me of how I felt watching the series for the first time which is a feeling I could never feel again no matter how much I tried

My favorite Pain speech is when he's talking to Naruto about war later on. It gives me chills.
Essentially the answer to the Pain cycle is one has to end by submitting and being humble and letting by gones be by gones. If pain continues because of a cycle the only way it can end is if forgiveness happens. Instead of revenge which continues the cycle.
Pains idea can be related to the kind of peace right now in the real world, the tailed beast bombs are basically our nuclear weapons, WE know what kind of power and pain that nuclear weapons caused back in WW2 and so because of that we have the peace that we have now
no this isnt exactly the same. what we have in the real world now is what they currently have in the naruto world, not pains ideology. each nation has a tailed beast which would be more related to what we have in the real world now. In pains ideology, it would be more equivalent to the President of the United States having the only nuclear bombing in the world and keeping the rest of the world in check with it
I thought the current shinobi system represents our peace. The main nations have tailed beast the same way ours have nukes. Its supposed to prevent war but it really does not.
Pain basically wants all tailed beast aka all nukes and with that he can then show all the nations the pain of what would be equivalent to nuclear war. And with that fear and pain control then.

It is kinda similar but not as simple as real life. Our real world affairs are way more deep and difficult to solve because it runs very deep and usually with many many hands in the pot. Tho the idea is kinda similar, hate generates more hate and unless both parties are willing to break that cycle and give peace a chance, war will continue.

The show naruto is trying to figure out how to arrive at peace and understanding w/ one another in this accursed world. The thing is it is impossible to arrive at that point for as long as there is man, there is hatred, ergo war. Attack on Titan provided the reality of it.
Pain is the only villian who made Naruto question himself, I love that, I was on Nagato's side for this whole arc.
This bijuu weapon that Pain talks about works in the same way as atomic bombs and has the same purpose, to avoid conflicts. for example, if Japan had also had an atomic bomb in the Second World War, the USA would never have used theirs against Japan. Whether we like it or not, after the world knows the catastrophe (pain) that a bomb like this causes, we managed to avoid large-scale global wars, due to fear. Pain wants to make the world aware of this ''pain'', thus making the entire world fear this power, and thus prevent world wars.

Pain’s speech is very profound and true even in real world. Tailed beasts are basically atomic bombs and assurance countries have to wage war. Take that away and would anyone wage war? No, because you know there is this one country/organization still in possession of that weapon that can destroy you. Very intriguing to think about

I don't know if you guys got it, but, change the Tails Beasts to Nuclear Bombs, and get the world we live right now, every nation with fear of attacking first, because they fear the atomic bombs. Japan suffered from this, so Masashi Kishimoto got a really personal experience as a reference for this plot.

But yeah, one of the things I love about Naruto villains is that they aren't just evil for the sake of being evil or wanting control like Aizen from bleach. They actually have reasoning and depth that shows they're human and not just selfish psychos. All the AOTs and My Heroes etc basically just took the Naruto traits and added it to their shows years later to also make them engaging.
To say that such a villain in Bleach just wants to take over the world for the sake of being evil and has no depth or reason behind him shows that you haven’t watched/read Bleach at all. But of course you will praise villains from Naruto and MHA, sure.

From what I gathered, Aizen was tired of obeying the Soul King and considered himself a higher being capable of making decisions and creating a world out of his own vision. His hate for the Soul King was evident from his argument with Kisuke Urahara during his fight against Ichigo as he was seen shouting at the former Squad 12 captain.
But seeing as Kurosaki Ichigo is ur DP, I'd honestly like to know why Aizen betrayed society other than this from someone who eats, sleeps and breaths Bleach. Like fr, I'd actually like to know. Coz I liked him as a Villain until his fight with Ichigo

Guys just a suggestion, I know you don't read UA-cam comments but, about the beginning of your video if you guys have difficulty remembering names you could write them down, I've seen other reactors do it and even I do it sometimes to just to keep up when an anime has a lot of episodes and a lot of characters. I definitely recommend doing that in animes like Naruto and One Piece specially, and also Boku no Hero, etc...
Yeah, this arc could very well be the end of the series (and it is for many). But there are a lot of cool things in the rest of Shippuden.

Lot of great moments in this series, but this is my favorite. Watched this fight many times over the years, from the og release to all the fan edits, and it always gets me hype.

I feel like this conflict was Kishimoto's effort to voice Japan's heart, post-ww2. That "cycle of hatred" and how to end it, it's tough to find an answer that works..
