Lived in Porthcawl many years ago, when John Street was full of shops, even a Woolies, and there was a cinema. All I can say is that it looks better than Bridgend.
I think the new Aldi will have a massive impact on the town centre business are struggling enough.not saying Porthcawl don’t need a Aldi but do it need to be so close to town centre.I’m sure that prime land could of been used for lots of other things that the community and tourism would of like to be there
Aldi is a food supermarket. Hardly going to take away custom from the shops in town apart from the Spar and Co op which have had the monopoly on groceries in the town for decades. There is nothing Aldi will sell tha will impact the shops in town.

Large numbers of cars as the railway was closed and a dual carriageway into town built over the top of it.
Can’t believe no one has taken over the Porthcawl hotel. Aldi is making great progress on being built. Great drone footage.
