Thank you sooooo much for this video and the one with you programming the new gauge cluster. The way you walk through each step of the process is perfect!
The reason you need to change the setting in AlphaObd to "tow mirrors present" is if you dont, when you flip the mirrors up the directional arrows on the arm rest switch will be backwards(up will move the mirror down, left arrow will move the mirror right).
Thanks for the comment. I have not found a setting to keep the puddle/approach light on while the headlights are on. This set of side views does not have a switchback function in the turn signal section. The manufacture does make a version that contains switchbacks in the turn signal section that can be made to be on with the headlights.
I’m having issue finding a driver door module that has port 7 usable. The tow mirrors I have also have a plug that only fits this port but nothing there. Giving me no useful power to anything on the mirrors
I was curious if you knew of a way to add a running light feature for the tow mirrors turn signals. I have only see wire kits that require splicing into the wire harness, and I didn't see anything in Alpha that sounded like that was an option to add. Seen a Ram last night that had that feature, and was curious.
Not that I am aware of without splicing as having the running lights in the side mirrors was not an option in early models. Most of the kits as you have seen to get the turns to act as running lights, i.e. switchbacks requires running a wire from a 12V source that is active when the lights are on.
I’m going to do this with a express, I want to install the sport mirrors with puddle lights and turn signals. It should be the same steps correct? Expect without the brackets
If the express is a 2013-2019 then yes should be pretty close top the same. You may or may not need the door modules as the existing modules may work once the options are turned on.
Thanks for the comment. The official AlfaOBD software is only on Android and Windows. There is an app on the Apple app store, but it is a different product and not associated with AlfaOBD.

Thank you. I am happy to hear that you found the videos useful.
Absolutely the video I needed. The others seemed a little convoluted in their explanation so I'm glad this one was a breeze to follow.
Thank you, glad to hear that you are finding the video useful. We will be doing a similar upgrade to a 2012 Ram 1500 once all the parts come in.

Excellent information, thanks.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I got mine working, but is there a setting to keep the turn signal tow light on when the headlights are on?

Hello, what model and year is your vehicle? Where did you get the tow mirrors. Using port C7 on a 4th gen would be a bit unusual.

@@solargarage - Thanks for confirming. I was hoping for an alternative option. I really don't like splicing into factory wires.
@@supermaga5351 Neither do I, that is why on our 2012 1500 install I left the running light option off and just kept the turns and puddles.

Can you get the app with an iPhone?
