Bust and cut all the exhaust part off, then tap the holes with a pipe tap in the manifold flange. Run some pipe and elbows for single or duals. Very unoriginal, but you can make it look clean. Glad to see you back.
Or make a plate that goes across and weld pipe fittings to it if you dont have a pipe tap that big. Just need longer studs for the intake
You’re a lot luckier than I am... without a case of penetrating oil, a bunch of four letter words, and a couple of bent wrenches. I’d have broken all four of those studs. Good to see you post again....

That corrosion I'm sure is from that manifold rusting from the inside out. As you said, the valves were probably closed, and the water filled the exhaust and sat. If the valves were nice and tight in the guides, would have made it hard for the water to work its way through the oil, and whatever little corrosion or sticktion the valves had probably got broken loose by the cam opening them. That's my guess anyway.
Try some Seafoam Deep Creep penetrant. I've had good luck with it. It seems to literally creep down into the threads, which is great.
