I know the video is a year old but I think I was almost as happy to here that run as you did. I just love it when younger folk get excited about this old stuff like I do. I have been watching you videos for a few days now. These are great!

Sounds good. You need to prime the cylinders in order to start. Crank with the choke pulled for three or four revolutions with the switch off. Then be sure you have the spark retarded all the way and switch ignition on to battery … and crank.

Congrats. Im restoring my own car at the moment. Should be done by the end of October and then spend the winter doing the roof. I've been working on mine since I was 11 with my dad and am now 16.

My dad restored two of these, but earlier years with the brass radiator. I was working on a 1923 as a teenager, but got more interested in girls and gave it up. What I wanted to say was that when you crank one of these your not suppose to wrap your thumb around the handle, if it kicks back you'll break at least your thumb.

YES! I could not be happier for you. Well, actually I could, and will be when it is back on the road. Your genuine excitement is infectious and inspiring. My speedster has not been running for several months. Just like your's I am having some problems with the carburetor float sticking. I just have not had time to take a look at it. Yes, its a lame excuse. But seeing your's fire up has gotten me in the mood. I may just get a whole new carburetor. I am pretty sure even a numbskull like myself can switch out a Model T carb. Great video as always Jonathan. Continued success to you.

Very interested in whether you recommend what you did to others. I am buying two model t's from my friend. They are 100% original matching numbers and come with newspaper articles from the 60s and 70s where they were running in several small town parades, etc. Currently, they are in rusted rolling chassis shape. What would you say should be the first thing to do? What order of rebuild do you recommend to make sure this doesn't turn into a money pit, etc. Would love your advice on what I'm getting into money wise. You said your engine was rebuilt, I saw a price for $2,575 and I'm ok with that if it will take it from 20hp to 40hp. I'm planning on building a wooden body pickup truck as I own a woodworking company. I'm only going to build one vehicle out of these two rolling chassis.

Great to hear your T finally running. Like most others, I'm sure, I've been waiting for this day. Soon you'll be able to drive it up to the Old Car Festival held at the Henry Ford/ Greenfield Village museum. Because it's the Ford Museum, most cars are Fords. It's happening Sept 8th and 9th this year. Here's the URL of the meet: www.thehenryford.org/current-events/calendar/old-car-festival/

really sounds good. Would the tighter engine make handcranking harder?

Your not excited are you. Looks like it runs good. I know the feeling I redid a 27 roadster a while back and working on a 27 coupe now.

What another great video I'm glad to see younger people into old stuff I was into hit and miss engines and Model T's when I was like 7 LOL I'm from West Hartford Connecticut I own a Motorsports shop in Enfield and we fix older an off-road stuff but we have a AAA in West Hartford and in the front as you walk in is a perfectly preserved 1912 Pope Hartford it's one-of-a-kind and it started once every few years and actually drives if you give me a link I will send you some pictures of it you'll be amazed there is none other in the world !.. I'm at SavageMotorsportz@live.com I send these pictures to most people older but I'm sure you would appreciate this car btw I'm not Royce Lane my name is Gregg Savage. Just can't remember to get on my old site lol,, I know this is long but keep doing what you're doing I think you have the best most informative page I've ever seen.!! seriously

Seems this person isn't as smart as he thinks crank and crank it should of started before the third crank don't try repairing T&A for a liveing
