Loved going to the mall and buying Xbox magazine every month, I really miss those times, no cell phones, just me at the mall for the day watching a movie, shopping, eating :)
Xbox, PlayStation and Pc Demo discs were the good old days. Even if you didn't had the full game, the demo was a good way to keep playing it or even play some games that are delisted from the online stores.
Great series looking at the old mags and discs for some retro fun, well done. I used to buy the UK version and started with the 11th one. 'Play:More on the Disc' quickly became my favourite section as it was for prize competitions, top 10 plays and such. Had a fair few of my trick vids shown on the disc, several top 10 competition finishes and even managed to win 2 TVs. Each month I eagerly awaited it's arrival to see if I had got my vids in there, fun times.
@@campxbox Most months, the prize was a game or a pair of controllers. There was one guy (Glynn) who used to win virtually every month, so, I was well chuffed to beat him for the TVs. Another time, they gave away a cheapo sports car, sadly, I didn't win it. Here's a 50 second vid of mine that got put on the disc, for anyone interested. Heh. Sports and variety. You love to see it. Kinda wish we live in the 2000’s still. Nostalgia? Probably, but I just want to feel excited of simply going to a store and browsing rather than digital storefront. At least the indies are keeping it alive…
I love the first Ghost Recon so early Clancy games are awesome imo, but i still need to try this "Splinter Cell." Looks like a heavier focus on gizmos than Ghost Recon and even contemporary 007 games such as Golden Eye? 😮 I like the 3rd person over the shoulder perspective. It lets you have a wider view which is ideal for stealth but you can also see your kit and weapons very clearly
I wish we could go back to teams of just 45 people making AAA games again... Everything coming out from places like Ubisoft and 343 today have too many incompetent cooks in the kitchen.
Have the disc for Panzer -- great game-- but that big battle air-ship fight has no save state after working your butt off to destroy the boss! Just makes you want to quit playing.

Very true I'm sure we will see more delisted games pop up when we get to the 360 era.
I found so many games because of demos. When demos disappeared the games started getting worse.
I was subscribed to oxm monthly from about 2006 to 2008 or 9. I had many previous issues as well. Really awesome for you to make these!
That's awesome! I hope you enjoy the videos.
Watching the Panzer Dragoon Orta preview is giving me that fuzzy vibe. Sega is such a big part of why I loved the Xbox.
I'm with you on that one!
It was like getting a Dreamcast 1.5 in the best way
OXM discs made my childhood awesome

Those are some awesome memories to share. Winning 2 TVs is incredible!

It’s true, browsing physical stores for games was always such a fun experience.
Edit: wow that House of the Dead III looks very scary and high detail
i love archiving especially xbox games
I love these videos
I'm glad you enjoy them! Thanks for supporting the channel!
Is it a cosmic coincidence that this video was published just as I play the first splinter cell
I just love demos and the magazines I remember getting them
6:52 house of the dead 2 was my favorite on the Dreamcast but I never played any on the Xbox unfortunately
You are subscribed. Love your videos keep it up
Awesome I'm glad you enjoy the videos! Thank you!
Wicked! Loved "The Thing"! Just got the remaster this weekend
I really like these videos, since I only had a ps2 and GameCube at the time. Kinda mad I never hopped on xbox until 360 lol
Well now you have a full library of awesome games to check out!
Oh man, the memories 😭❤

Splinter Cell is a must-play! Definitely check it out if you can.

I just heard about these, I’d really like to see the demo discs for the 360. I’m wondering if they have downloadable gamer pics and themes
I'm excited too because they did come with downloadables like that.
@@campxbox ahh real nice! I have a thing for themes and gamer pics. It’s like the only way to get them now with the store closure

So many OG xbox games were brutal like that, especially the original splinter cell. One mistake and you're restarting the whole level
Been looking for this one dirt bike demo I used to play on the old xbox hopefully it’s somewhere in you’re series… 🤞🏼
Interesting😊
Ps2 outsold og xbox. Funny how he never mentions this
