    OMG finally someone who talks about real life Roland in relation to the Bloodstained Knight!! I've found that a lot of the theories I've read online talk about Capitano as the Bloodstained Knight, but only very few of them cover the topic of Roland himself, so this was very interesting!!
    Ever since I saw Capitano the first time I was like "Oh, he reminds me of the Orlando Furioso", and when I read the Bloodstained Knight's lore everything clicked so well I went crazy with hype hahahaha
    Also, I would like to point out a small thing that piqued my interest and could probably be connected to this theory: the three nails constellation among the Harbingers. They symbolise the three nails with which Jesus Christ was crucified, and so they represent the Passion and could be seen as a reference of dying like a martyr. And, on the other hand, we have the Chason de Roland, in which Roland's death can be seen as some sort of martyr and as a parallelism between Christ's death. So yeah, this makes me think that constellation in particular could be Capitano's, especially if he is the Bloodstained Knight.

    I think the fact that capitano crossed path with varkas expedition group and had his own vanguard of elite warriors. Makes me believe he will likely wage war against natlan. Also, I think he's a double agent for the abyss order. So if he is, i expect him to use the abyss to attack natlan while hiding that he is pulling the strings. My reason why I think he will start a war is that the other harbingers acted as diplomats. I think capitano will take a more upfront approach to getting the gnosis.
    So I expect in natlan that they are in the process of war or already at war.

    I think the reason natlan's archon might help us is (theory) khaenriah would've actually won the battle but celestia might have used a unjustly way to win the war, this might've made natlan's archon furious, also Roland mightve also joined the abyss for the very same reason.this might be or may not be true haha

I feel like when we get there it'll be a wasteland after Celestia did *insert punishment for reasons* or maybe it's the closest nation to Khaenri'ah and so was affected most by the cubing UG did.

      I'd just be guessing on his constellation really, corvus is already taken by Fischl so it can't be that. Do you have any ideas about it?
      I'd bet that he sees Varka as similar to Arundolyn with their easy-going personalities so probably has a bit of a soft spot or sense of nostalgia when seeing him. It'd be interesting if Capitano is Roland and Varka knew too though, sort of viewing him as an old legend he wants to match up to.

    • @datguy6101
      @datguy6101 Рік тому +3

      @@TheLaughingManLore I hope Varka will mention more about their encounter, it would be fascinating to see his reaction to an important figure in Mondstatds history.
      Based on the image of the Fatui constellations, people think his is the 3 crossed nails/sword blades. In general, do any of the Fatui constellations have any connection to the mythical Roland?
      Speaking of Roland, I was curious about his weapon, Durandal. There happens to be a Honkai character that goes by the same name. I know very little about Honkai lore, but if Hoyoverse like to draw parallels between their characters, then she does have characteristics relating to Capitano.
      Durandal/Bianka Ataegina is;
      - Out of the 3, stated to be the strongest S-rank Valkyrja of the Schicksal, who got there based on their hard work rather than natural talent
      - The captain of the "Immortal Blades", I think the name might allude to something
      - Quite popular among Shicksal personnel
      Although, like her name, I think the name of her weapon might be the biggest allusion. Its called "Black Abyss White Flower" and which 2 distinct appearances, the Black Abyss and White Flower. Think this alludes to Rolands transition into Capitano?
      If this is true then it really points at Capitano being the Bloodstained Knight, but I think we'd all love some more concrete info on him regardless

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  Рік тому +2

      @@datguy6101 Ohhh of course haha, for some reason I totally forgot about those constellations for a moment. The three nails constellation does seem to be the one related to Capitano the most just through the process of elimination. At first glance it reminds me of the nails used to put Jesus on the cross but I'm not sure whether or not they'd go that route. Would fit with the resurrection theme quite well though.
      I was going to talk a bit about Durandal but didn't want to stray too far away from the main topics, I think the two are very similar in many ways though as you've pointed out. I didn't think of the Immortal Blades connection though - that's a really nice find if it could be a hint that Capitano is somehow immortal.
      The Black Abyss White Flower could be an inspiration for Capitano in some way, I didn't mention it but he had a flower he kept on him from the Maiden Beloved that became stained black like the rest of his armour so maybe it had some sort of purifying or healing ability on him as I think the White Flower version of Durandal's weapon does.
      Hard to say anything for sure atm but those are some fascinating points and make me think Capitano is Roland even more than I did before. Can't wait until we actually find out some concrete lore on him. Really appreciate the thought provoking comment!

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  Рік тому +8

      I hadn't thought about it but I'd guess by that time the Harbingers would be down a few more members and we'd have an easier time getting to Pierro. I can imagine a scene where we finally catch up to him but Capitano appears as the sort of bodyguard to block our path and sort of final boss before we get into the more cosmic and abstract enemies, especially with Pierro being a mage. (this is assuming he gets the Pyro Gnosis and returns to Snezhnaya)

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  Рік тому +4

      They're two of the other top 3 contenders that we know about, at least in my mind. The other would be Arundolyn.
      Imunlaukr would fit in well with the berserker themes from the set of the same name, especially with his lines of putting on a show for the gods, him seeming to have no relatives or friends and what seems to be the curse applied to the people of Dragonspine with Ukko becoming a lawachurl. Doesn't fit being Capitano as well as Roland yet but that's because we have way less lore on him.
      As for Ravenwood, I don't think there's a whole lot on him right now at all is there? So can't say much on that just because of how little information we have on him.

    One extremely loose theory about the harbingers I have had on my mind is how most of the harbingers we've met have the exact opposite personalities that their commedia d'llarte personas have. The commedia d'llarte personalities are:
    Tartaglia is a bumbling, stuttering idiot who can barely speak to others
    -Columbina is perky and energetic
    -Capitano is inexperienced and introverted
    -Dottore is an absent-minded blowhard who tries too hard to prove his worth to others
    -Arlecchino is a goofy but loyal servant
    In the game...
    -Tartaglia is extremely well-spoken and able to navigate complex conversations
    -Capitano is extremely experienced and seems actually quite extroverted and chill (according to other harbingers and some fatui members we've met)
    -Dottore is a calm, cool, and extremely intelligent person who holds his cards close
    -Arlecchino is NOT loyal to the Tsaritsa, according to Childe, and is extremely serious
    My point here is that we should likely look at the commedia d'llarte Capitano as a reference point for his in-game personality, but by looking at the exact opposite of it.

    Coming back to this video after the 4.1 Archon Quest, basically confirming him to be number 1 of the Fatui. I wonder what powers he wield to have such high rank?
    Also, this might sound really far fetched but what if it was King Deshret that restored his sanity, you know because he is Amun Ra, and Ra and his solar chariot? xD or a part of him that lived on knowing that Deshret is the smart type and definitely would have many plans to preserve himself. This is just a reach from me though, but it would make more sense if that one theory about Deshret being Irmin and all is true, because the Bloodstained Knights have heavy ties to the Abyss and Khaenri'ah, that would also maybe explain why he is so strong? Maybe Deshret/Irmin lend some of his powers to him? What are your thoughts on it and the whole "Deshret=Irmin" theory?
    By the way, have you read the new battle pass weapon "Wolf-Fang", it's about Ravenwood, yes? If Capitano isn't Roland though, the closest candidate would be him, but I'm certain that Capitano is the Bloodstained Knight 😅

      Him being Deshret would be a wild twist! It would explain his being #1 but then again I can't see Deshret working under anyone else, especially an archon who're like weaker versions of the god-kings.
      I think the Deshret = Irmin theory is really interesting but I think rather than them being the same character, Irmin could be a creation of Deshret's or maybe discovered some important thing related to him that gave him special powers.
      In the Legend of the Shattered Halberd Irmin was a creation of a god that I originally thought would be the Primordial One but I can imagine Deshret having his own Primordial Human Project before Rhinedottir could work too.
      Oh yeah I was so excited reading that! I think it's about Ravenwood but not 100% sure as there seems to have been a few Knights of Boreas over the years. I'd say the top 3 candidates are Ravenwood, Roland and Imunlaukr atm and I'd be happy with any of them (even though I'd enjoy all the references I found in this video being right haha).

      Right, there is no reason for Deshret or Irmin to be guiding a random person unless he's desperate and in a way manipulated him, probably using Roland's anger to get the best of him and make him pledge to the Abyss after he found out about the truth? Usually, I hate these types of mischief after Scaramouche's story but if it's something minor like this I wouldn't mind, because Roland is the one to find out about the truth himself, anyways I'm gonna stop here it's starting to sound like a fanfic 😆
      And maybe you're not wrong! Irmin could be a creation of Deshret in his likeness, as a back up plan to gather more knowledge, maybe that's the reason why there are so many Deshret and Irmin parallel, the whole bird theme and one eyed king theme(Deshret's star in that one cutscene) going around, and given that they were both ambitious.
      Also, I wonder who this Naberius really is, given his Ars Goetia name.

      @@trevor8k That could be the case yeah, I also wonder if Capitano could've been a royal guard or someone of similar rank to Dainsleif that stayed loyal to Irmin after he became corrupted by the Abyss (which is another theory I kinda buy into). Haha it's fun to speculate on even if we do stray off into fanfic territory!
      Yeah and we still don't know who the Horus-like statues could be representing in Deshret's kingdom. Could be the Ibis king or Deshret himself but I'd quite enjoy it if it was Deshret's "son" or greatest creation. Would kinda fit with an entrance to Khaenri'ah being located in Sumeru.
      Since we discovered the gnoses are likely the "hearts" of the dragon sovereigns (maybe in a metaphorical sense) and gnoses are called hearts of god in CN, it could be the heart of one of the sovereigns. It'd probably have to be an eighth hidden one though unless the pyro or cryo archon actually doesn't have their gnosis anymore. Got me wondering about a bunch of different questions now haha, I'll have to do some extra reading on it all when I can!

      @@TheLaughingManLore One more thing I wanted to mention was when I read the wikipedia for Ferragut, the giant that battled against Roland, when both agreed to take rests at night they would also discuss about the Holy Trinity, the Genesis, the Immaculate Conception and Resurrection of Jesus. I wonder if Capitano really is Roland, and fought Murata in the story, this would come into play? They would talk about Celestia, Khaenri'ah, the Abyss and more about the ancient history of Teyvat? Maybe that's when we get our huge lore bomb? Also, it's kinda strange that Roland talks about the Holy Trinity, the Resurrection of Jesus, and more... when it seems like Capitano's constellation might be the three nails which represent triclavianism, the symbol of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Anyways, I am very excited for Natlan next year!

      @@trevor8k Ohh yeah that was such an interesting part of the story but I didn't want to get too deep into it in the video and get too sidetracked (hard finding a balance haha). I can definitely see that happening with Capitano and the Pyro Archon though, especially if the Archon is a bit of a rebel against Celestia. Really does seem like he fits that constellation the more information that comes out doesn't it. Oh also, Natlan sounds like it's a vacation location too? I was imagining just a lot of volcanoes at first but now I've half got a Hawaii looking area in my head haha

    What if in this case after Roland went berserk, his wits are brought back to him by the Tsaritsa? So blood stained night, pledges to the abyss, he goes berserk, he loses himself, then his wits are returned by Tsaritsa, which would explain his new allegiance...

      If I'm on the right lines with this video it's very possible the Tsaritsa was the one to retrieve Roland's soul/wits but I wonder if she was punished for it somehow which is why she seems to hide herself away from the world.
