- Here is the First ride and initial thoughts on the Honda Monkey but, is it any good? On a cold manky day i wrapped up and managed about 65 miles on a mixture of roads including a proper dirt track.. Stick with it to the end to see my final thoughts.. and is it worth it?

I have an HD Roadking, Buell Cyclone, BMW R1250 GSA and a Honda Monkey. The Monkey gets the most attention and is the most fun to ride.
Great fleet you have there mate 👌 I’ve sold me track bike and cb1000r and am left with just the monkey at the moment and tbh I’m a happy fella
Great video but omg that road around the 15:00 min mark has more potholes than what wales has and thats saying something lol. keep the videos coming.

Was not far into your video and subscribed. Have no where near the scenery you ride in but I will be buying my Monkey to day 6/13/2023. I am 79 and have been ridding since the age of 16 and now this is the bike I want after watching hundreds of reviews on the Monkey. Keep up the good work. My previous bike was a St 1100 Honda quite a difference, but that is where I am now. What is the flashing light, ridding with the turn signal on for miles? Or it the low fuel warning? Think I got it now the green is the turn signal the yellow is the fuel, maybe.
First of all thank you for subscribing to the channel I really appreciate it and love the interaction.. Secondly you’ll love your new Monkey when it arrives, they are tremendous fun. And coming down from bigger bikes is something quite a few of us monkey riders do, it’s the future 😂. The yellow flashing light is the abs light.. the previous owner who owned it from new changed the front sprocket to a 14tooth one and this has the disadvantage of throwing the speedo out and when riding quick occasionally pinging the abs light..
The scenery is usually from Northern England.. Hey still riding and having fun at 79 👍🏼 love it.. hope I’m still at it when I get to 79!!

@Northern Motovlog that unreal....you should do a ride out,start with a full tank and run till empty... see how far you get

Looks good on the rough stuff. Just read you sold your Suzuki 125, didn't realize. That was a great bike 👍on the road anyway.
Ey up Simon hope you’re well.. yeah the little Suzuki was a cracking bike I’d recommend one to anyone.. the Monkey however is a different kettle of fish!! I can go almost anywhere.. great fun, mega mpg and it’s gonna stick around on here for some time.. I was actually stood right next to it when I saw your comment 🤣

@@NorthernMotovlog really thinking about a monkey as my current bike 2018 Honda Rebel which I've owned since new is unfortunately a tad too heavy for me now due to some ongoing health issues with my Fibromyalgia and Arthritis, so really struggling to move it in and out of the garage. (Getting Aulder isn't easy lol). I had a wee Msx (Grom) for around 3 and a half years (which I really liked) before I got my Rebel, and the reason for that was the start of my health issues and I was finding my Virago a tad heavy then. However, after 3 and a bit years of having my wee Msx , I thought I'd have another shot of a bigger bike so went for the Rebel, but I think my Joints are a wee bit worse now hence the reason for considering a monkey. Also think the Monkey is so much better looking than the Msx.
ABS light most likely relates to the gearing given your tyres look to be the OEM ones?
I had the same issue on mine when I changed the tyres and ended up putting on a speedo healer to get rid of it as it was doing my head in.
Only around 600 miles on my Monkey so far since I bought it in July, but it's been mega fun when using it!

Where are you from ? England or Scotland ? Beautiful scenery. I see you got extenders on your mirrors and a luggage rack on the back and what is that rectangular box you have added to the left side of the handler bars ? I love the yellow one, I have a red one but they stopped making the yellow ones till 2023 and not much on it is yellow on the 2023 ' s. Here in the states we can't buy the Honda DAX because they have the Honda Trail 125 's. I would love to have a Dax
Hiya hope you’re well, I’m from the North of England and we are blessed with some great roads and scenery up here.. that’s a rear facing GoPro on the bars 👍🏼.. yeah I was 100% after a yellow top one meself meaning it’d need to be a 4 speed which does me just fine.. have you still not got the Dax over there yet?? Whereabouts are you? I was sure I’d seen the US was getting it somewhere.. hey there’s plenty other monkey stuff ok here.. it’d be great if you’d stick around and give it a watch and share it on your socials 👍🏼

How did you fasten the quickrelease tankbagholder on your rack? Seems like a splendid idea👍
The qr ring is fastened on using some decent cable ties at the moment but I plan on getting a bit of a plate rigged up and bolting it on at some point!

Thanks dude, I use a GoPro 9 black with the media mod and a lav mic.. I recently lost a load of audio with a similar set up though.. the mic on this was brand new
